I hope he doesn't have a Twitter account.
I hope he takes diction lessons. I've watched two of his FTLOC - Escort Mexico and Aston Martin DBS - and he couldn't have sounded more bored about the whole thing if he was actually Richard Ayoade.

I think that line-up seems OK, Glenister being the token amiable curmudgeon in place of Clarkson. I liked the FTLOC programmes though I think he came across as a little hammy at times, needs to trade his acting chops for presenting ones. My only slight concern with the line-up is that Martin is much more of a bike guy (but then so is Hammond supposedly) and it's lacking anyone with any journalistic credentials. Comedy entertainment show rather than motoring magazine it is then, not much changes.

If any of the above mooted lineup don't make it, Chris Harris would be excellent.

The Glenister/Martin/Kidd line-up would be awful.

My acid-test, rightly or wrongly, is the Vietnam special. I think that is one of the greatest pieces of TV I've ever seen, and in order for any presenters to be suitable (in my humble opinion) I need to be able to picture them on that road-trip, and they need to have the same chemistry....

.... Jodie Kidd? Thanks, I'd rather have a conversation with some plywood thanks.

Clarkson just tweeted this...

Just heard about the Glenister,Martin,Kidd potential lineup...

Can't stand Guy Martin, could barely sit through one of his speed episodes then never watched it again. Philip Glenister was kinda irritating on For The Love of Cars. As for Jodie Kidd, what is this the 90's?

They should have gone for a pretty much unknown bunch, like with Hammond and May the first time round. Yes they need to have a car angle but they shouldn't have already been on our TV screens for 10 years!

Totally agree. 👍 It seems BBC are trying too hard to gain viewers back.

BBC should hire those three germans to host.

Ill wqtch it, but only if its named something else.

Which 3 Germans?

It's almost guaranteed to still be called Top Gear, is the only thing the BBC still has (owns) that's worth anything out of all this mess

It was Sabine Schmitz (vs Clarkson in Minis), Carsten van Ryssen (vs Hammond in Bowler Nemesis) and Tim Schrick (vs James/Stig in GT3 and DBRS9).

1) Beeb does not continue a motoring show.
2) Let the Digger pay stupid money to put TG on Sky.
3) Watch it die.

Perfect.

TBH the Top Gear website has looked outdated for quite a while now, it still had a very mobile/tablet-unfriendly appearance IMHO.

ITV will pay the megabucks for sure, they need to diversify their programmes, all that channel is now is one big gameshow / reality tv... and Downton Abbey.

They could call it Pulling Power
