what was the picture shown on the lcd tv that we couldnt see?

People say it was either pr0n, a picture of Jezza at the beach, 'tubgirl', or a guy in a bikini :odd:. I heard this from FinalGear...

I like the Genesis bit, and of course the 430S, but really, the police stuff was typical 2007 Top gear. I prefer the 2003-2005 Top Gear when it was more about cars and the humor wasnt so absurd and over the top. :indiff:

+1

Abso-freaking-lutely.

But i feel like that's what gives it character, i think Jermey always wanted the show to be like this but it had to build itself into it

Hmmmm.... I'm not convinced that overly scripting the show gives it "character". It takes away from the believability of the situation, and becomes absurd. Definitely still entertaining in some way, but not as enjoyable in my opinion.

I'd say Jezza .52

I liked the (repeated) references to the new cable channel "Dave", which seems to show nothing but Top Gear re-runs, some as far back as 2003... But Jezza made two references to the fact that Dave seems to have back-to-back Top Gear... infact, I'm watching it right now, and yes, it is an episode I have seen about 5 times already! But I'm not complaining... Top Gear, now in it's 11th series (since Clarkson, May and Hammond took over anyway) is arguably the best television programme since sliced bread.

No argument here. 👍

I'll be interested to see that CLK Black run and what they have in store for the Cool Wall.

Popular Mechanics Interviews Adam Carolla About Top Gear America

Posted: 24 Jun 2008 05:53 PM CDT

Popular Mechanics sat down with Adam for the first interview since Top Gear America was officially announced and asked him a bunch of interesting questions about the show.

The full interview can be found on their website (and it’s really worth a read), but here’s the CliffsNotes copy/pasted from the article:

* The NBC adaptation will follow the BBC format: guest segment, stunt, test drive and, yes, the Stig (casting for that crucial role is still pending).
* The premiere episode will feature a race from Las Vegas to San Francisco, ending in a “mammoth stunt.” (NBC isn’t insisting on copycat stunts or episodes, a la Season One of The Office.)
* Carolla is pushing for an on-air drive of the just-unveiled BMW M1 Homage concept as soon as it’s available, as well as the Aston Martin DBS (though that would be a reprisal of a Clarkson drive).
* Clarkson and Carolla recently met face-to-face, but Carolla promises to focus more on improv than the heavily-prepared Clarkson.
* Officials from Top Gear in England, who are producing the show, along with “everyone involved,” have assured Carolla that he will be able to speak his mind on any car “without fear of reprisal” from advertisers, which he fully plans to do.

Again, make sure to check out the full interview. It’s not too long of a read and is pretty interesting.

Still nervous, but it's shaping up to be better than I had originally considered possible.

I wonder if the guest segment will feature people I can actually recognize.

Well that was good. :)

Not a particularly funny episode, apart from Hammond's french, however it showed Topgear can still make fully car related episodes and they can still be good. Simply I loved, however I'll still be looking forward to next week's episode.

I'll give a more detailed review later.

It was more of a classic Top Gear where everything was just car related and mostly normal stuff....... was quite good, the CLK Black Series made the episode though! That thing sounds amazing

Lol. i actually made a batch file that pops up a command window saying that top gear is on shortly :)
Otherwise i just forget to watch it since i normally don't watch tv on a sunday evening.

But i have to say that it was a good episode with lots of good sounding cars :)
The only thing that bugs me is that they almost never win a competition against other manners of transportation...
I wasn't surprised one bit when the skiers won.

Jeremi ripping of Hammonds microphone was funny :)
And i wonder what he had found on the internet... ;)

I think they are going to do this every episode, its quite hilarious because the audience reaction is so funny..... there was a woman behind Clarkson who looked horified at what was shown  So obviously they do show something...

Oh and they took the DB9 out of the mini fridge...... thats sacred! they cant do that! put it back!!!

downloading it right now.
shame BBC on the cable broadcast doesnt show it :(

Hammond drives a Porsche, who's he to talk about cocks driving Astons . Seriousely though, you can be an arsehole in an Aston and still be cool, it's true. Yesterday my neighbour parked agonisingly close to my drive and it gave me a hard time reversing out and around him and seeing what was coming. But his car is a V8 Vantage so that's fine. Seriousely, I wasn't cursing, I wasn't annoyed I was just thinking, my god that's a cool car. And I think that everytime I see it or hear it or both. Which is often.

I simply adored this episode, I gave it a 10/10 on FG.

Good episode, I too loved the CLK Black. It looks stunning, sounds great, and just looks like a fun car to drive. The RS6 was quite a monster as well, to bad it's so expensive though.

Much like Clarkson, the CLK Black makes my favorite list of cars (see matching thread). I'm quite happy they made a test of it, but also, rather disappointed it didn't have a go on the track.

RS6? Again, I'll say what I've said before: Meh...

The Audi just looked so bland.... if I had that much power and paid that much for it I would want to shout about it! Its more expensive than an F430 for gods sake! Why do they push the boat out with the R8 and make everything else look like an old Volvo!
