Oh my god Jeremy ramming his car with the spikes on it into the BMW was hilarious. The paint was a cool idea until he wiped it all off. And that spiker of Hammon's (and the whole car!) was really crap.

Good episode though. 👍

I've only just stopped laughing, I'm so glad I recorded that to go on my iPod.

The police car challenge was hilarious as well as the fuel consumption bit at the beginning. Great episode to start the new series. :D

I watched it live as I realised I could have the game playing on my laptop, thanks to the game being on the BBC! :D

Hehe, that was great. Particularly the Fiat Coupe with the spikes - I actually had to rewind to see how close that was to hitting the cameraman's legs...

All of it was quite good, the supercar thing reminded me of what a GT5P race would look like for real! Without the Lambo... :ouch:

The Police bit was just so good, James' Lexus actually looked the business and his siren was brilliant!

Clarksons fiat when it did a handbrake turn with the smudged camera almost looked like a Ferrari! I was quite surprised how resilient BMW wheels are too attack from a spinning metal spike.. clearly Fiat alloys are made from saw dust.

Hammonds Vitara was so 80's miami and I would have liked to have seen the stig drive over the spike strip so see if it worked.

I was expecting him to run over his own spike strip.

The Fiat looked awesome and the rotating sythe was brilliant I couldn't stop laughing at the end bit, just hilarious.

The Ferrari review was great, the car just sounded awesome. The fuel economy was also great.

I thought the jusp in reverse was a little pointless but hey the rest of the episode was great.

Yet again Topgear mangages to have a great balance of entertainment and cool cars.

Am i the only curious on what the BBC didnt show during the news section when the cameras zoomed out as JC cued a picture on their TV? Its really bugging me. Anyone know?

It was a joke about what Clarkson found while looking on the internet. Presumabley it was not allowed to be shown before watershed ;)

I love Clarkson's quotes while driving the Ferrari.

"It's like God having really usual sex" , "It's like the bastard love child of Stephen Hawking and Rambo".

The Police chase was awesome... I was absolutely amazed to see what happened there! My brother and I couldn't stop laughing at that bit, just awesome!

Good to have the show back, though. Just wish some of my ways of accessing them were a bit faster...

That was hilarious, best show on the Telly for comedy factor. Watching the wheel spikes go into the BMW was eye-watering. I can't imagine how anyone doesn't like TG.

I laughed so hard, the pasta I was eating got flown onto the monitor. I nearly vomited by laughing that hard, I have a cold too. The police-car thing was the only good part of the show IMO, the rest was a bit boring. Did anybody else notice that when Hammond, in the fast lap, his spikes came off just before the Hammerhead. Later on when the car starts to 'pack-up', it reappears and then dissapears again.

Thewhole episode didn't really seem like Top Gear for some reason, but still a definte 9/10.

My favourite parts:

*The supercar race with each having a low amount of fuel.
*430 Scuderia
*The Police challenge

.

Yup, continuity error.

Yeah the timed lap when it fell off it would have been funny if it went under the wheel.

It would have just been some porn or something :sly:

The Police chase was awesome... I was absolutely amazed to see what happened there! My brother and I couldn't stop laughing at that bit, just awesome!

When May fired his paint gun and it worked then Clarkson said "however there was one technology james hadn't banked on"..... hahaha wipers! Stig looked totally un-miffed (is that a word?) by it all!

And the fact that James had to wait to the criminal to come round the track again to get in front of him!

What did anyone think of TG Stunt Man...? I think its just a way to do really stupid things without risking Hammond's life again...

I did like the bit when Clarkson said something like "The Borne Identity, Triple X, Casino Royale... just some of the films he hasnt worked on!"

You mean May right?

Anyways, Brilliant brilliant brilliant, that was worth the wait, i hope Top Gear never goes of the air.

During the Gas Supercar race i was standing cause of the excitement.

I only do that when im watching MotoGP and F1!

The show seems to be even more blatantly scripted than ever. I enjoyed the episode, but continuity errors, and blatant scripting took me out of the Top Gear experience. Yes, it's always been scripted, but it wasn't always so blatant. The cop bit was funny, but lacked something. Am I the only one who is a bit disappointed?

A Bit More News on the American Top Gear

Autoblog
When I was a kid there was this terrible car show on television that was sponsored by a certain automaker that shall remain nameless. Every week – that is, every week I could bear to watch it, at least – the hosts would review a car from that company, and guess what? They always liked it! And that's what makes Top Gear such a hit. Because the BBC is publicly-funded, they don't have advertisements. (Notice that downloaded episodes of Top Gear run an actual full hour, instead of the usual "hour-long" shows that run 45 minutes.) Without advertisers, Clarkson and company are free to say what they want about whatever car they're reviewing, and so journalistic integrity remains intact, even as they catapult caravans and play soccer (sorry, "football") with hatchbacks.

With NBC "gearing" up for its own version of the hit car show, reportedly to be called simply "Gear", the fear was that, as the show would be dependent on commercial advertisements, the recently-announced team of co-hosts would be reigned in by the bean-counters regarding what they could and could not say about the cars they'd be reviewing. Thankfully, on a recent episode of his radio talk-show, Adam Carolla revealed that no such limitations would be imposed by NBC on the show's editorial autonomy. You know, this may just work out yet.

I'm hoping that it'll be the case. I can imagine Corolla tearing all of these new cars the proverbial "new one" quite often, and he being Jezza 2.0, we need it. Big time. Thats what makes the show awesome in the first place...

There have been worse episodes. I think the police challenge saved it pretty well. The challenges always turn out great. But yeah this one was a little too scripted. The "star in a reasonably priced car" was pretty boring, but more often than not it is. The Prius/M3 thing was a bit predictable, but Clarkson had a good message. Most of the stuff seemed like pretty average Top Gear.
