Something is up, 3 things i noticed, Tires have lessgrip overall (no need to downgrade frm stock).

Take longer to warm up, me and JDMKING took some Scuderias on SH at Ring, 6:00am, the tires just wouldn't get hot even up to Karrussel (sic) they were not even light blue, and we were pushing, could have been morning Dew , earlier run same cars at 8:00PM the tires heated normally .

They last longer, wear is slower or so it seems.

I am still in shock how our tires where so damn cold through out the race, had to be the morning time. When we raced at a later time the tires where nice and warm. That was some intense racing last night my arms was on fire trying to keep the 430 Scud on a straight line. The Ring bumpy surface did not help either throwing me off my line, It feels as I have to take a different approach now when driving in GT5. 👍

I noticed that as well with the tires, but once they get warm they stay warm more consistently.

No doubt but me and Gus and a guy name Ger Man could not get the tires to keep heat in them at all. (all assist off including abs off) I will post a replay to show you guys later. It was sick man, and I know for a fact when we raced at a later time the tire stayed warm and the 430 felt like a race car. It was a humbling experience. 👍

I was driving my '11 Mini Cooper S at Tsukuba last night at the new seasonals, and it did seem a bit less tossable, but I figured that was just me, since I hadn't raced in a while. Maybe it isn't me, because that little car is quite cooperative, but last night it seemed stiffer and more understeery. Nothing some suspension tuning couldn't fix. :indiff:
Also, cars in general seem harder to drive. I did the seasonal that I mentioned previously in a Spoon Integra, and I could not for the life of me take a corner smoothly, especially braking; I won the race, but it was a disaster. And this is a front wheel drive car with 215 horsepower and not a lot of weight. What the hell is going on? :guilty:

I noticed similar things last night when playing the FF seasonal... the car tend to understeer HARD when hitting the brakes too strong. I was using a Citroen Xantia with ABS on. It's harder to drive but the tire feedback feels better... it's hard to explain but sports tires feel a lot more like comfort tires. I can feel them "bending" more on corners...

The tyre temperature thing was present at launch, but disappeared at some point afterwards. I remember having the same experience with many cars "in the beginning". I, and others at the time, attributed it to track temperature changes being taken into account.

Perhaps with all the complaints about the difference in physics between online and offline, they changed it; but now they've changed it back?

I guess that one isn't going to go away any time soon. :p

They should of never changed it from the beginning it is and awesome feature. Makes driving that more challenging!

Does the 2.06 update come with a "A connection to the server could not be established" warning as well basically keeping from any online services? Or is there maintenance I don't know about? Thanks for clarification!

I heard their is a maintenance going on PSN.

I hope not! It felt great, despite the lack of optimal performance, its just another factor to take into account while driving, which always adds to the experience and depth.

Nice one PD! Please do not change this.

The reduced grip actually makes them appropriate for their status, unlike before where people complained of Too Much Grip!

The weight transfer is more prominent, i remember in the 430S i could practically turn the car with a dab of the brakes, it tucked in very sharply, so now you have to be extra careful when braking not only for lock but for excess\abrupt weight transfer. Thats probably the issue you were having, the weight transfer being more than usual which made you understeer so much.

With ABS off i didnt notice this because i never slam the brakes, so the weight transfers itself more smoothly.

PD Educates!

The Toyota 7 has now a very distinctive turbo whine and it's got the same engine sound as the Nissan Group C's. It also handles differently, its much harder to control and the rear wheelspin definitely increased.

Today i was breaking in my car. I was doing some burnouts and the smoke looks different Its alot thicker looking and theres no pixelation around the edges of the car, and no pixelation around the tires It looks better to me or am I just seeing things?

Yes, exactly! Whenever I would press the brakes on the Integra, the car would just straighten out immediately, ruining the whole corner. It's so odd; it felt like I was driving an old car that had bad brakes and tires.

Same here. I took my civic out for a drive today and it wouldn't turn when you braked. Ended up hitting a bunch of cars in the rear

Can someone explain what specifcally PD tweaked to the off track penalty system?

Just checked to see if it was anything to do with the last seasonal at Laguna, people were using the pit lane exit that helped them gain more than half a second. PD noticed this was happening and cut short the time trial, sure enough though you now get red time (invalid lap) :)

A bit extreme for PD to say they tweaked the penalty system I think :sly:

That's another change that hasn't been announced

Could somebody make a master-list with all of the changes and update them accordingly? It's very hard to find out whats new without searching through 16+ pages.

For what it's worth - last night after I finally got used to the new ffb (and dead zone, again maybe it's my wheel?) I put it back up to FF=10 (power steering off) and the FGT will still do a 4'45 around the 'Ring (RS, aids off, ABS off). It feels slightly more tail-happy though but I didn't bother to tweak my setup... very fast corners seemed a little easier.

Definitely enjoy the RM ZR-1, didn't even have one in my garage before but had to hear the new-and-improved engine sound, well hey at least it's angry now, I can do laps in it :)

OK I think I noticed something fresh... in my first gen CRX now, slightly modded, it has the stock diff: when exiting slow corners at high steering lock and power, the inside wheel spins which I'm sure we all know is nothing new - BUT I've noticed 'gaps' in the skidmarks left mehind... they aren't consistent. So sometimes the wheel is gripping, sometimes it's slipping. So I'm thinking something might have changed with that... almost like fwd axle trap or something...

Or tire overall grip and behaviour. I have a feeling that they've changed something about the tires.

And also about weight transfer. Braking points changed somewhat for me. Or could be my perception of the track, since the point of view has changed in some cars (interior view).

I think i already noticed the physics being different playing GT academy.
The weight of the car seems more prominent there (making you think twice before shifting it around, but if you get it right it works to your advantage), and the brakes feel a little different (stronger and understeery).

Maybe the GTacademy physics model, is a evolution of the one in GT5 (evolution towards a possible GT6 model) and now they have transferred some aspects of it for 2.06.

I approve of it tough, overall feeling of the car seems more realistic than before.

Then again, placebo effect could be holding us all hostage :)

All updates keep changing few thing in GT5 which its great but i noticed something about it i don't know how to put it, the physics are " unstable " sometimes its do weird things, it feels that the physics things is not " joined together " they keep changing the physics the result of that is the physics engine gone mad.

I don't know how to explain to you but try to understand me if you do, well, maybe you can give a word that will show what i'm all about.

Yeah, it's harder to dive into corners on the brakes now with ABS on. Definitely little tweaks in the various interactions between the different models (e.g. tyre and suspension etc.)

Is it just me or does the setup changes seem abit more pronounced?

Have you noticed that the taillights on the Xantia don´t work? I noticed when I did the new Seasonal at the Clubman Stage 5 passing one. I watched the replay to check it, and they really don´t work!

Sorry if I got your hopes up, I bet it's been here a while. But I was on Route X and spun out in my Merc and apparently I managed to take out a tail light: (top left)

What do we think?
its no glitch, its a rear foglight.
