Yes, indeed... Look at D1, and Formula D... the second (or maybe 1st) round of the Formula D was nearlly won by a 170hp Hachi Roku, and he was pitted against Hubinette's 500+hp Dodge Viper... They had to take 3 or 4 extra runs so the judges could make their decision... It's all about technique, not power...

If anything, the power to weight ratio should be specified, as that is infinitely more important than power alone...

That's also a good point... Anyways, I step aside in this issue. :ouch:

Wow phantom D and its members are doing some big stuff this year. Well im in

Car: Have to wait (its FR though dont worrie about taht)
Name: ToyotaDrifter

wait shouldn't this be uh... quiet about the cars since people will be judging and dont want to pick favorits.... etc (mind my sp)

If this comp was going to use judges from GTPDC, tankspanker or swift should assemble judges; if judging is with GTPDC rules, then we should go concealed identity until scores are turned in...

even though "a good run is a good run", to promote fairness, concealed identity is very important.

Yeah, everyone please get rid of your cars you plan to use. I never understood why we should post that stuff in the first place.

But I'm honestly not worried about who are the judges. As long as they are dependable.

umm ok... what are you trying to say? it was a pretty pointless post if you ask me.

i think i might join in on this if i have the time.

I think he was trying to equate my explanation of a low HP 86 against a high hp vehicle, with the television series "Initial D"... This was in no doubt due to my mention of the "Hachi Roku" and my example of an old school low hp vehicle, beating a modern high hp vehicle... This concept was the basis for the original 3 stages of the "Initial D" series...

It was a joke, one you should have gotten pretty quickly, since you're the all-knowing God of GTPlanet. :dopey:

or of the drift board, anyway. don't see anybody post much elsewhere.

is this a "do as much as you can in one lap" sort of affair, or "do as much as you can in 25 meg" ?

i'm guessing it's just a lap cuz it says its supposed to be like gtpdc, but then it says it's supposed like the da challenge which was presentation. but my best guess would be one lap.

Your best, will beat us all :nervous:

DRIFTN
This competition is meant to be based on the drivers DRIFTNG skills, not the drivers EDITING skills
.
a 1 lap replay is all thats needed, it is going to be judged like GTPDC, just ignore the 25 megs limit, im sure no one will need that big of a limit.

And all i meant by the "this is going to be run like DA's Gaunlet Challenge" was that the best 3 entry's will be posted up AFTER the judging, then i will make a poll, and members will vote for what they think is the best one. (as like DA's challenge)

Clarification: Entry's will be judged. The best 3 will be posted up, members vote for what they believe is the best one, video with the most votes wins.

hmmmm...so why are we making a new competition? why not just re-open GTPDC again (for the amateurs)?
...kinda feels weird for noobs to be going up against dtc, suzuki, tri, ryen, etc X_X

If it feels "weird", dont enter

Dang, kinda disappointing. I thought there'd be more participation then this...

if i can get a good run before the deadline ill turn it in.
my problem is finding a car i feel is suitable for me, and can work with me.

im in....ill send the clip tomorrow...or whenever i get around to it. :dopey:

im kind of having trouble sqeezing a lap in w/ 25 mgs...i may have to clip the beginning and end a little bit...btw i dont have sound effects so ima replace that w/ music, lol...if thats ok. :sly:
