So that Walkinshaw essentially has 630hp? It's not a performance bargain if it can't use that power effectively which TG:A showed. We get stuff here in the states from Mallet, Lingenfelter, and Saleen that would probably be able to beat the Walkinshaw with less power just because they use it correctly.

Weren't you listening?;) You don't have to use the 22" rims, you can keep the standard 19s or 20s, which does allow you to put the power down effectively-ish. You're also forgetting this is a family sedan, your Lingenfelters and Saleens etc all involve Corvettes and Mustangs and the like. If only we had a 2 door Torana still.............

Edit: @ Nibbers, I wouldn't be too sure it'd crush the CTS-V, although it would be interesting to see.👍 Well, maybe in a straight line it would.:sly: Imagine the pull of that thing after say 60km/hr when traction becomes much easier to come by.

Edit 2: I've just been looking at the WP website, and they actually have a lightweight 3 piece modular wheel made by Simmons in a 19" size (5 spoke black, with chrome outer edge). It's a wonder they didn't use that tyre combo on the show in the first place, because it still looks tough as nuts.👍

Yeah but you would buy an old Gemini over a FPV, so you are a little biased :sly:

Paulie wouldn't but I would and turn it into a tyre frying 10sec monster!! :D

TF Gemini (900kg) + boosted SR20DET (550hp) = Bye Bye FPV. :trouble:

When you fit bling bling 22"s on it (which by the way is an AMERICAN trend) then of course handling is going to suffer. You don't see any of those 30" rimmed 'Box' Monte Carlo's being a great handler.....you don't see them handle, period. ;)

And maybe the fact they are nearly 1/2 ton lighter than the SuperClubby would explain some of that. ;) Like the boys have already said, compare it to the CTS-V, and it's like comparing chalk & cheese.

And I'm just curious, why do you guys pay so much for vehicles that are made in your country for your country? Although our Pontiac G8 and your Commodore are about evenly priced. Your Commodore International starts at $34,490AUD which is about $27,000 USD and out G8's start around $29,000.

Because all of our motors (HFV6, LS2, LS3, LS7) are imported and it's not exactly cheap to import them over, even in mass volumes. :) With your G8, all we do is send you guys a rolling chassis.

2.25hrs until another episode.:) I realised you don't see Maserati's on TV much either, so it should be good to see this one tonight.:)

Guildford area 80Y 2C2, from a red rooster car park. Don't worry, I know who took it (the people who broke out from Parra Jail the other week, done within 2hrs of them escaping! ) but the cops have found them, and other cars they took but not my piece of crap!!:(

It's alright though, it was about to die in the ass and I'm so surprised that it travelled more than 500m, the engine was on it's last legs and was using it just for local trips.....I'm surprised it hasn't been found though.

And my van was the same model Tarago as what gets chopped up in this episode (YR21) so I'll have a nice laugh at it all. :D What I do know is that Warren Brown will be in shock when it hits the water splash.....the engine and all the emission controls are under the passenger seat and that will equal the motor scuba diving. ;)

It's all good though, my other ride (Twin Turbo MX83) is almost back on the road and should be by end of financial year, engineered and all.

That sounds rough!

Imagine my reaction.

Turned my head, car was there.
Turned head to staff.
Turned head back, car was gone and I'm WTF!?

Less than 10 seconds it took. But it's all good.

Anyway, enough about me.........I WANT STIG NOW!! :D Damn this waiting for another hour. :ouch:

I want to see them carve up the Tarago, it's the same one as I owned (before it got nicked a couple of weeks back  ).

If you can't wait, get a preview of this weeks episode from SBS....here's the link, I know you all can't wait........I couldn't. :O

Ouch mate, sorry to hear about your bucket of crap. I didn't realise your MX83 was still a work in progress, it's nice and something different from the usual try-hards in their stereotypical imports.👍

Anyway, enough about me.........I WANT STIG NOW!! :D Damn this waiting for another hour. :ouch:

w00t, only 40mins now.:dopey::sly:

Edit: 10mins!:D

Edit 2: Whoo, go Wazza, stick it to Clarkson, tell him he's wrong. A pretty good episode, I don't know why Anh Do was yelling.:odd: Should be good next week with the V8 wagons.:sly: I've actually been very interested to see how the VE wagon compares from a performance point of view to the Europeans.:) Oh, and didn't that Maserati just sound blissful. (Did you also see Wazza's sketch? I didn't know a cartoonist's artistic skills stretched so far.:p)

actually that's one V8, and a V10 twin turbo. And I hate to predict anything, but apart from the price, I can't see anything that's better in the HSV than the RS6.

I 'ed at that and sat there saying to the missus, "Jeremy's going to want his head on a stick".

And Warren Brown isn't some average hack cartoonist, any Sydneysider can tell you that. He's been doing the Daily Telegraph for donkeys years before going to TGA, since I was a kid. ;)

Personally, I loved today's star in the car, Anh Do. What a crack-up he was. :D That last joke he told about the RSL guys and skiers was an absolute beauty.:lol::lol: I reckon it will be up on YT in about an hour or two.

And then to see Wazza in the Tarago. Go the door falling off!! I was waiting for it to sink like the PrelUTE of Pizatti's. :sly::cool:

I'll take it to PM's to explain the full story, I don't want to bore everyone of what else has happened to me......

Erm, it looked like an RS4 Avant to me.💡 I bet the VE understeers less than 2 tonnes of AWD V10 wagon if it were an RS6 though, but that's like comparing a Cappuccino to a Mustang. Sure, the Mustang understeers more and is heavier, but is way faster for sure.

Edit: @ mafia boy, I know Wazza's a very good and dare I say famous cartoonist, but cartoon drawings are very different and far less complex than that artistic piece he painted, just incredible.

Nah, the RS4 the wrong size to compare against the VE wagon. And the grip? Well there was an extended advert at TopGear live and part of if involved an RS6 doing a burnout before exiting stage. Now everyone who drove on the stage said that the surface was amazingly slippery, but even so, it took the RS6 4 turns just to get the inside rear lighting up.

Which doesn't mean it doesn't understeer.;) Either way, I got no problem watching the RS6 next Monday.

I s'pose it doesn't......and the fact the heavy V10 TT is very near the front of the car wouldn't help either.:indiff:

Still an awesome car though, I mean a V10 TT in a wagon?!:lol: Who thought of that one? Makes you wonder why that engine isn't in an R8 sometimes.:odd:

yeah...well we do have Audi's own V10 in the R8 now (the RS6's is Gallardo derived) and it was making such a good noise at the Nurburgring 24hour.

As for the RS6 with such an engine - The thought of me in the future with kids in the back, boot full of luggage and a kayak on the roof rocking up to the lights. Some boy racer rocks up in a Supra looking and thinking midlife crisis. And then you beat him off the line:crazy:...ahh dreams

So after everyone said this season was so much better than the last one, I wasted a few hours of my life checking it out.

Is this supposed to be funny? I don't think I smiled once through all of them.

I'll stick to Top Gear UK.

If you're expecting a replica of the UK version, don't. Apart from the Power Times and star in a car, it's different to Clarkson and the boys. You don't see the classic new car ad's in the UK version which has been interesting to see how comical 1970's marketing was!

And if you didn't laugh at Anh Do's jokes in his interview, you must be suffering from depression, the last joke was a classic. As we Aussie's say, "THAT'S GOLD!" :D

SIGMA, Its Fantastic, was a crack up. I mean great handling on a straight piece of road.

You can take or leave Ahn Doh, sometimes he is not for every-one. But still the best interview this season. Warren is getting better.

PrelUte and Taragute were classic. Nothing like a good old Aussie Ute to tear up the back yard. I was a bit shoked to not see the prelute axel break with a boot full of manure.

And James in the stunt driving was good, He did quite well, except for the ramp part.

That's the problem though. It's an exact replica of the UK show, just without the funnies.

no it isn't...there are different aspects in it. If we wanted a show that was like tguk, we'd dump a huge lump of money at the bbc and ask for everyone to come over and test out cars. The way there is comedy in the bbc one is great as it attracts more people, but car lovers like myself will watch most things car related. I think you need to recalibrate your expectations - the bbc one is a car show with comedy, not a comedy show with cars.
TGUA will get better. Was the bbc one any comical in it's first two seasons? no.

Actually it wasn't comical UNTIL Clarkson and the boys arrived. ;) Think about it, you had Tiff and all the guys running TG for years before they had the dispute with the BBC and told them to stuff it and went and created Fifth Gear. Then the filler hosts until J.C. were garbage.

Atleast with TGA, we've only had 1 change (Cox for Morrison), and to tell you the truth it's worked out better, as now Pizatti has become a cross of Clarkson/Hammond (Clarkson's worship for power & Hammond's size), Morrison is a cross of Hammond/May (May's subtle cheekyness and Hammond's frankness) and Brown is MAJOR SLOW, forget Capt. Slow and fills the role May portrays perfectly. :D

I actually went to turn it on, then saw Ahn Doh and turned it back off. Went back a little bit later to see this totally unfunny 90s Prelude doing reverse donuts. Wow. Give me my spleen back please, I think my sides burst.

well I actually thought this weeks closer to worthiness of the Top Gear name. I know I keep on harping on about stage skills and making the whole thing look less scripted, but this week was great featuring good stories and done in the proper TG way. There were witty remarks flying left right and centre and while they didn't get me laughing (although smiling) only the best stuff off the UK version does.

This week was MUCH better than any previous ones 👍

Good sir, you are thinking of I. I'm a little suss on the wagon beating the sedan, despite it being manual over auto it shouldn't overcome 150kg in an already heavy car. Must've been good circumstances for the wagon.
