I wasn`t quoting a fansite (well I did) but I was kinda quoting the OP`s link [screenshot]. So your argument goes against the thread creator, not against me. Just saying...

Nah, my apologies if it looked directed towards you. It was directed towards the original article. What kind of media would cite stuff from random people. LOL, "MSNBC here quoting the cashier at McDonalds on why the economic policy of the US is failing."

Talking about the course maker... Wouldn't it be possible to recreate all tracks all over the world by people just driving the course with GPS? Then uploading it, downloading by others.. ???

We have no way to know, as PD has only hinted at the capabilities of the feature. It may only generate a flat spline from the logged lat/long coords and lay it on pre-generated terrain. Or, maybe it also replicated elevation but without trackside objects there is no real licensing concern.

I know that I already have GPS data for a couple of local tracks that I'd like to import, but chances are you will have to log with PDs tool.

Personally, I'd really like to see a spline editor similar to Mod Nation Racers or Little Big Planet Karting so we could log GPS then tweak camber, track width, surface, curbing, etc to make nice copies of our favorite courses.

I'm not holding my breath though.

I'm thinking it may either be tomorrow or next week on Monday (VGT car is on that day).

If I recall correctly, we got a heads up beforehand of the M4 and Hudson being included in an update. With the user sorg releasing early pictures and the media picking it up before release. 1.02 was a low key patch, kind of surprised me that I got one, had no clue about it.

So going along with that logic, it seems that when it comes to full on Sony game updates, those will be more low key and we won't find out until we actually get it. When it comes to individual cars (and maybe tracks?), then we will probably get a foreword or some heads up either by users or the media then. Though they are 7 days past the deadline (8 days for some) for the RedBull event.

Interesting. :)👍 Guessing the Red Bull event will also come out when there's a heads up then.

Imagine what our community could do with user generated content.

Oh wow! Men you need to chill out just a little...

I say that Forza release a DLC, refering as it would be nice if GT showed something from here to a few days and everybody comes just crazy on me.

I haven't said anything wrong, I don't know what the Forza DLC consists on, as I don't give a **** about it, but it's common that if someone makes something there will be another one trying to beat him, that's all.

You are making this place just so hostile by going crazy on anything that has "Forza" on it.

And if we can share those tracks then I can see the "community" track selection exploding exponentially. The potential is pretty amazing which is why I think a lot of us are running low on patience. No doubt Kaz wants all of this out too, but getting it to work in GT6 might be harder than any of us know.

avens
I always want more content. That's the sole reason why I play and like this franchise.

- PD advertised that for GT6 was updating all cars to be premium quality just some without interiors.

STAHP right there.

PD NEVER said anything about upgrading standards to full premium quality - they said some of the old favorites were getting the premium treatment (Countach, Cizetta, Alpine, etc.). Then they said that they would try to shorten the gap between some (meaning as many as they could get to) standard-premium cars. All they promised and advertised was that "standard" cars would be "less bad".

Except...

That's the official information, without any mention to what you wrote. What the advertising states is all cars will be in the same category, just some without interiors and that is what this forum called "semi-premium" (concept never stated by PD). There's no mention to "shorten the gap to some standard cars". It's all of them and not "less bad", and certainly isn't in the box

As for fully "premium" -what PD calls interiors-, very few of the former "standards" were upgraded to that status. On this "premium" note PD did fulfill what they promised (about 10 cars?), but not on standard cars as a whole to premium just without interior (800).

In other words, the advertising says the distinction is gone at least for exteriors for all cars, but as you can see and as I wrote less than 20% of GT4 and older cars were upgraded to this new made up category.
643 cars out of the ~1200 are PS1 to PS2 quality, 152 out of the ~1200 are what the advertisement says and 443 are "premium" (have interiors). Actually in the thread created to compare cars that received the treatment, it's pretty clear the exterior of "semi-premium" is not "premium" but just in between.

This forum, neogaf or anything else related is not the official info, and as you can see the game advertisement goes against what you wrote. That unless you can prove your point, because I could link plenty more sources that prove mine, the Silverstone event for instance.

Also using bold text for no reason, quoting only one phrase and quotes out of context are quite bad. The posts are #314 and onwards, which are longer and provide the context of the discussion as well. On that note the discussion was the lack of DLC thus far -another "promise" was substantial DLC every month or two (Kaz)- and that PD somehow manages to skip criticism in car count, when the competition has been trashed no matter they actually added more content than PD and that game was actually finished on time instead of releasing key features and content months to years after due to lack of time.

I mean we almost could have had this in GT5. We just need more control over the editor.

I agree. Even though the track making features in GT5 left a lot of us wanting more control, it was still a lot better than nothing. I still think one of the best "drift" circuits I've driven in GT5 is a user generated one.

Just look at the Mod Nation Racer community content ... it's rediculous. People have made tracks nicer than the ones that came with the game.

Now, that's a stretch for a sim like GT, but we could make some really good tracks with the same basic editor and some decent track side objects to pull from.

It CAN be done. If PD can get such a good copy of Nordschliefe to work, there is enough memory to use for a decent sized and detailed user course. Personally, I'd rather have a smaller area to work in and more memory for objects.

So where is the article that says they are past deadlines? I am just wondering because I haven't seen any articles or press about when the Redbull events are bieng released. What is 7 days past due?

I can't wait for the track creator and the GPS app 'cause you know within about a month, there's going to be so many real world tracks recreated. If the creator/app are as detailed as they sound. This would be the best way to get every track ever in a racing game. Give the community the tools to create them.

Trust me man. The ModNation Racers community are the best folks ever, I love their imaginations. I miss them so much since I stop playing it, but will be back at some point I hope.

Please PD tell us when are we getting the two large/big updates Kaz mentioned. “We do already have a big update coming in December, and in January there will probably be two big updates. And that’s because there’s a lot of things, such as the unveiling of new cars, which we have no control over.”

*cough* Jan 1st Redbull event *cough*

There's supposed to be a patch today?

I've yet to see any confirmation of any date for an update. If it doesn't come tonight, they're will most likely be one Monday, to coincide with the Vision GT cars supposed to be unveiled in Detroit. Then if they're sticking to the idea of having two updates this month, I'd guess the last week of January would probably be the next update. That's assuming there is one, and we all know what happens when you assume.:sly:

Again, I wouldn't hold my breath for an update, I'll just wait for it to pop up whenever.

I might have phrased it wrong. Deadline is too harsh, what I mean is that the RedBull events for the standard cars and the Vettel Challenge were supposed to be available Jan. 1 (circa the game itself) and now that its the 7th, or 8th in other places, there still hasn't been any updates to unlock them. There is no article, its actually in the game itself. It is nice that you are asking for evidence and support for the claims, I like people who don't go with the status quo, but ask questions. :D

Kindly take that else where please.

Because somebody was talking about the Merc's that are still missing, and then somebody decided to play the whole GT vs Forza game and bring up the January DLC. Which is £40.

For the record, Forza DLC car packs are typically priced at $9.99. The price in the link is for the season pass which allows the purchaser to get six car packs over the course of the DLC.

I bought the season pass in Forza 4 and I bought a few of the car packs at $9.99 or at the time was 800 MS points which sold for $9.99.
I can't remember what the last track DLC cost but I think it was about 50% more than the car packs. They also gave one free car in each pack and at least one car that you could not get without buying the whole pack and they offered single cars out of the packs for a premium price. I think it was like $2.99 if you just bought one of the cars.

At any rate a single pack is not $40 but by the time the DLC is done if you buy it all then you will easily double the price of the game and still have less content than was in FM4
