Tomorrow will be one of 2 things here at GT planet;

A) the forums will be a flurry of activity outlining all that was fixed in the update.

B) the forums will be ablaze of what didn't get fixed in the update and the dread of wonder when they will...

Either will have a bit of B and A, but a predominant tone will imerg. I do hope for a couple pleasant surprises...

Now for the obligatory question answered 1000 times before differently; what time are updates generally posted? It's technically a Monday night... Do updates happen on Mondays/Tuesday wee hours of the AM?

I'm starting to get suspicious. We've gotten quite a lot of free content. How are they earning money? And when do DLCs start to become expensive? :odd:
It's probably all covered on GT 7 R&D if its all a precursor to 7...

Paid content didn't start flowing on GT 5 until after 2.0? When they had a more solid base? I could be wrong.

There wasn't any new content until 2.0 for GT5.

Really?

How about unacceptable business practices?

No PD rarely announces an exact date for anything. If they did they would have to commit to that date or loose face and honor when they once again miss that deadline.

I don't know how some people do business who post to this forum but in the real world companies as well as people's reputations are to a large extent based on the promises they make and whether they live up to those commitments as they said they would. At this point PD has a reputation of delays and over promising while under delivering yet they still expect their customers to pay full price for their products.

Unacceptable business practices? DLC (which we've yet to actually have) and updates are a very common thing in video games now. You keep complaining that PD haven't lived up to some commitment but have yet to actually say what they missed. You bought a game with 1,200 cars and nearly 40 tracks and you think that's 1/3 of the game? You also bought the game fully knowing that there were things that were going to be added latter on. How is that PDs fault?

Stop being such a drama queen.

inb4 a financial expert pops up saying that PD earn money from this, this and this. And they get no money from e.g. placing the M4 in the game.

Dear expert, you don't know that.

Good question. Also: does it go live for all the timezones at once? I'm in Europe. When should I expect it to go live?

Well, same hype after the announcement than before, maybe even greater. :O

Keep up the entertainment gents.

EST (North America) will be late night tonight, about 10 PM or 11 PM. That should help the people in North America to figure it out.

I think Mulan looks at it like PD released an interior-less "Premium" car and that we shouldn't be happy about it. I don't like interior-less cars very much, but I know that a great percentage of car game players don't use the interior view. Then, there's the thing about BMW making PD release the car with no interior and then with the "official M4 reveal" being today, BMW told PD ahead of time to have an update which can (or MUST!) coincide within 24 hours of this reveal for the interior to be added...for publicity/marketing. Hmmm...
Or maybe PD was under DNA until BMW officially revealed the car. I wonder which one makes more sense? Hummm

Who thinks car manufacturers need game developers must be delusional. How did they manage to sell cars before Gran Turismo 6?
I've never heard anyone say 'I drove car X on game Y, going to buy car X ASAP!'

Apparently.

Seasonals tend to arrive at 3am as well.
I have a sense of doubt in the updating coming in 4hrs since it won't be exactly January 14th everywhere yet, PD but we'll see.

When asked for a specific time of when we should expect the PlayStation Store each Tuesday, Colburn said, “We’re starting to hit [2PM PT/5PM ET] pretty consistently and I feel pretty comfortable with that.”

Who doesn't like concistency? And despite may not indicate that all updates will come tuesday, the dlc ones will...

I'm confused about this caru pdate, will it be a DLC we will download from the ps store or in an update like the BMW?

If it's in PS store then the europeans will get it on wednesday since that is when the europe store updates.

@ProjectWHaT

Why do you even keep mentioning shaving your eyebrows? It's kinda gross, dude...

Did someone make you bet?

You'd be surprised. Having the cars in the game is yet another way to publicize the launch of a new car... And, it's one that they anticipate - rightly so - is fun to drive. In this case, I loved driving it in the seasonals event, although it's essentially still $70,000 more than I'd ever be willing to spend on a car, since $70,000 can buy a seriously nice Impreza STi and the money to take said STi to the Nürburgring.

Ninja edit:

10 pm EST tonight :D Color me excited!

Not sure if it's 10 PM EST or 11 PM EST.

As much as I agree with your thinking, and you could be correct? It does happen with most all seasonal here. They're released the night prior. We get them Wednesday nights were you get them Thursday morning. It's because the timezones differ that's all.

This does not mean we will get anything tonight....but we might?

Earlier in the thread, I joked about eating my hair, a Top Gear reference. Luckily I was right and I didn't have to eat any of my hair. Then recently someone bet me about the update and said that I had to shave my eyebrows.

It's a shame that my current PS3 it's on it's last legs :nervous:
Me too
