This update makes me consider the amount of bytes being shuffled around. The update is quite massive, and there's, well, atleast a million purchases (i've only read 5.5m shipped, not seen sales numbers (yet)) that will update (sooner or later)...
 
Just to be clear, there are 3 new events? The seasonal events right? Because I saw someone say there are 5 new events, which is wrong if I'm correct.

Sounds like there must have been some licensing/Trademark issue's with calling the Red Bull car the X1.

Overall sounds like a great update. Looking forward to downloading this when I get home.

I firmly believe that this game is only going to get better and better as PD seem keen to build upon its excellent base with updates and I would imagine some future payable DLC.

Kaz said that calling it the X1 was too generic sounding. Changed it to X2010 for a more specific sounding name (hints at an X2011 perhaps?). Via Twitter several days ago, actually.

nope it did it in 10 minutes. PD own servers you know ;) no PSN servers here! hopla...

And online races now gives you xp and credits... Very nice!

What i do is read the lobby title carfully, check ping of lobby and race quality, go in and check the race they're doing. Not just blindly like a fool joining everything and hoping it will be a good race...

By the way, the online section of this forum can help you find good races too, if you want too...
 
This is an awesome update. So many things I wanted to see and several I didn't even think of!
Nordshleife for arcade & practice for everyone, yeah! I have not done any events in AMG, so it is not tied to that.

Remove the HUD...oh thank you sweet baby Jesus!

Thank you very much PD. You'll get no complaints from me for continually trying to improve your product, great job. Now I just have to grind through a work day to be able to fire up GT5 and take a look for myself.

Well it isn't an auction house, but we should need something like that!
It is the same as the used car dealer but with a selection of 12 cars very rare...
 
Tip for Bonus race 1 with the Fiat. Don't change the oil. It puts you 1 BHP over the allowed limit. Meh! Great update though.
 
You know these new events? Do you need a car that matches the criteria to enter or are they like the special events that supply a car to race in?

I sold my FIAT 500 over the weekend...

I'm quite excited by the idea of seasonal events - having constantly changin events adds a new layer of interest and makes up for the slightly poor A-Spec selection.

I'll be very interested to see what happens with the online dealership as well. How often will they change the cars? How will they decide what cars to add in? Hmmmmm....

Adding the Xp and stuff for online races means I might even venture into the world of online gaming for the first time in my life, at the grand old age of 33...

No not really.... online is till woefully lacking. Why should we be so pleased that a month after release the game is STILL lacking a decent online system? Most games have a proper online system from release.

It's a bit like buying a bed and being told to be thankful you have the base and the mattress will arrive sometime later down the line. Then being given a single mattress for your double bed and being pleased with it!

Still no matchmaking...... still no clue what any lobby is running. Why can the fanboys still not see that the online is STILL a complete mess!

Yeah but what about us poor suckers who bought theirs in the lame blue(I did just the other day finally) You can't even sell it....I was hoping to sell my blue one that I have pretty much only let Bob drive up to this point....

So I lose 4.6 million credits(or have to grind out another 4.6mill)to get another one in a more desirable colour(I thought the green one looked real sharp)
I have a red one available in my dealership right now but only got 2.5 mill right now because of the monster purchase I made on the blue one...:ouch:

I grind all weekend to get one myself and got to level 28 did the 500 miles race and was going to start searching for one today...
If I had bought it over the weekend - well at least I had one and could do the FGT championship. I also lost a lot of credits grinding this weekend (almost 20000 per race) and Im not crying about it.
What Im really happy is that there will be no more greedy b****rds that get 5 and 6 top cars for their crappy blue FGT, that was just plain wrong. Im sorry for those that got theirs in the last days but at least that wont happen anymore...

My friend I'm 45 and race online..... well in that OTHER game where online is currently better organised than this mish mash.

You are never too old :)
 
I've got a question on the seasonal events - I read that they can't be redone, but can they be improved? Say, if I finish 3rd am I stuck with that and can't gold?

What if you quit out, can you restart? I ask because that many Cr. and xp would be an absolute blessing

No offense, but matchmaking is for noobs, PC serves always have dedicated servers where you can PICK the match you want. Nothing wrong with that. I do agree on not knowing whats running or restrictions before joining the lobby is poor though. match making is purely a console thing and is not needed.
