update 1.05 - Ensure you follow the AUP when posting

I still think PD is smuggling cars in with these huge updates. Adding a couple of modes and unlocking cars we already have in game doesn't use that much space.

Hey I'm not trying to "poop on anyone's parade" here. If you are happy with the update then kudos to you. I just feel that there are still many woefully inadequate things about the game (and I'm a long long time GT fan) which should never have passed release... let alone still be there a month later:

1. Online still does not provide details of what is being run in any given room. We need to know restrictions BEFORE entering.
2. A spec is still woefully short on events... hey we have 5 new races and a couple of time trials WOO HOO jumps with joy.... hardly makes much difference to the 1,000 events that were in GT4.
3. Prologue even had a better online system with SET ONLINE EVENTS to enter - nothing like this here. The game should cater for both those who want to set up rooms how they choose (subject to point 1 above) and also provide set online events so you could say choose an online nurburgring event for GT1 etc without entering a room where some chap has the ring on and is just mucking around drifting etc etc

They may likely add everything you want my friend, speak up, it looks like they are listening, but it takes time for developers to turn these fixes out. They can't add everyone's fixes at once.
 
I don't know if it's been mentioned or not yet (threads fly on this forum, this started this morning and already 27 pages!!! can't read through them all) but it looks like they have changed the gifting so that you can only receive one car per day. I just tried it a few times and it only let me receive one car, then all other accounts gave me a message that said "you cannot send as you have reached your daily limit" Items it looks like I was allowed to send 3 before I got that message.

Hopefully everyone who was into the birthday thing got as much done as they wanted as the process will be much slower now.

I just backed up my save that's how I know, you can copy your save to a usb device or another profile on your ps3, so it looks like an unprotected save unless the profile the save is made from has to be present on the ps3.

You are usually required to have the same profile for using a backed up save anyway.. so who cares. I'm happier knowning my save file is backed up so i dont lose 200k miles of driving and 500hrs of gaming! ya know.

Damn how/where did you find those links and what are you supposed to do with them after you download them?

Pacthing this way via a download manager and usb into the ps3 seems safer, but I dont see how you could do it.
 
Downloading big updates is always a chore with my internet connection, but this seems worth it.

Gotta say, PD is doing better than I thought. If they keep the work up like that, GT5 might be a completely different game by the end of Q1 2011. 👍

NO. My net connection is fine. PSN in some countries is just horridly slow. I can download at 2.2MB/s, but off PSN right now I am getting less than 50KB/s. Last time I checked I had 156mins left :(
 
Not sure if it has been mentioned but in addition to the 5 museum cards you get as a daily login bonus I just got 5 paint items. Which is a good thing.

I'm pretty sure PD maintains their own servers... With that said my down load has taken 15 minutes. Optimum Online FTMFW!
 
I was hoping the 'Online Collectors' dealership wouldn't just be a new used car dealership.

lawl thats the first thing pretty much everyone is going to try and one of the reasons people didnt want it backupable (if thats a word?)

then again there are the legit few who really do need a backup option, like me having 3 PS3s in the house, its a pain in the butt not being able to play the same save on either one.

Why would you need 3 playstations? And why can't you just play on one?
 
Is it going to be like this every time there's an update? i.e. people will complain because they only fixed X and not Y. If this was going to be the very last update ever for GT5 I would understand, but IT'S A PROCESS. What doesn't get addressed now will get addressed in subsequent patches.

If PD sent everyone a voucher for a free trip to Hawaii with [insert hot celebrity of your choice] for a week as part of an update, I'm telling you someone on GTP would find something to complain about.
 
Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in Both A-Spec and B-Spec in GT mode- GT Life have been increased for a limited time only. This applies until the end of January 2011. This is a great chance for those who were previously have difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

this is good news for you guys like me who are going to start or have started a new profile.
OH and the online dealership is awsome too....

just confirmed with someone else, you can only receive one car per day now, from any account. Which kind of sucks if I need to borrow more than one car in a day.
 
Anyone know what the rewards are like online? Does it change depending on the type of race? Differing amounts for first, second, third./...... And so on?
