That wont work for me. Part of the internet problem is the PS3 cant connect to the router. Anything regarding any network activity is sadly out of the question.
How about this then.... Can i take my ps3 to a place which has internet and update it there. Then afterwards it wont need to sign in to PSN to work when i get home will it?

The new Seasonal A spec races seem to be pretty sweet addition to me, but they also apear to be quite hard to gold, at least for a not so skilled driver as me.
I only tryed the fiat 500 race, but there seems to be quite a a gap up to the leader im like 15 seconds of him, after trying two times quickly with a DS3 ( I normally use a wheel ). Anyhow this is how i like it. when things are hard but not imposibel :-)
On another note, I also found out you couldent change the oil. So after I changed the oil on my fiat 500, it had to much HP to qualify for the event. I had to buy a new one to try again.
Does anyone know if there are any tuner items that can be bought and fited, and still not have the Fiat go over the allowed HP ?

Functional, yeah, never said it wasn't, but it was lacking, and the reviews and people complaining wre correct about that. Fixing it after the fact doesnt change the fact they had every right to com,plain the game was lacking compared to every other modern racing game.

This is very impressive and I'm quite happy with what we're getting. Really hope to see more updates like this in the future. 
Btw, I got gold on the Intermediate AMG challenge last night, right before the update. Does this mean I will still get the Mercedes CLK-GTR?

Idk man i spent all my free time playing this game and im nowhere near done with it... I agree things like leaderboards and more options for online races should have been there since day one, but what can you do? PD is on top of this, they could have easliy delayed this game till holiday 2011 but im glad they didnt... im having too much fun now!

good for you, doesnt change the fact a lack of online system, lack of online restrictions at launch, lack of Xp/Credits, lack of damage, lack of a-spec events, no match making, etc....

Hope this hasn't been said already but, after grinding at the American championship at Indy I was awarded with 117,000 cr instead of the usual 98,000 cr, and you can just click START after the race has finished instead of waiting for the race to load again, if you want to carry on grinding.
I played Forza 2 and am playing Forza 3 and they are completely finished and every feature is working as it should without the need to update every month. You should really check out the world outside GT.

I don't think anyone really gets what they seem to be going for here.
This is the first major GT game with online compatability.
This is Gran Turismo 2.0. they gave us a package to start with with the sole intention of building off of it.
This is me defending PD, this is me just laying out what I think they're doing.
It's like Facebook, when it first started it was a lot less than what it is now. But since there wasn't really a precedent to compare it too people just ate it up bit by bit. Now if you were to imagine GT5 as being the first Gran Turismo of this new age then you're on to something.
This is the beginning of a very, very, long journey.
So in the future people that complained about GT not having this or that will seem dated, not stupid. Because the future GT players will know everything that they wanted was added slowly, so features that were screamed for now are taken for granted and just simple then.

No one will park cars while racing, irrelevant. Also, thats a lie, only on sharp corners do they aas they dont see you, a video on you tube proved that was false. no one wants A-spec damage? LMAo, says who, its one of the biggest complaints people have with Gt5.
