Agreed, there were many of us that had to sit on the sidelines and watch the excitement in the past. :cheers:

EDIt: after reading through it, looks much more involved than past GT Academys, having several rounds of online competition. Very cool.

I really hope they announce a new european one as well. Narrowly missed out on making it to silverstone last year

They say you get a prize just for participating. It's probably a tuned Nissan 370Z with GT Academy decals.

EDIT: Aslo, I wonder what track they'll hold the event at? The Europeans had their's at Silverstone, maybe we'll have ours at Laguna Seca, or maybe Watkins Glen.
 
The video on the US Gran-Turismo website shows all GT-R's (in game cars).
I'm guessing in game will be the modded GT-R and stock GT-R, and 370Z and stock GT-R for real driving parts.

And how does this relate to the Non US Siganture edition AMG driving academy?

Also are there going o be any more Non-US academys?
 
Thank god we won't have to go against some of the EU and Asian players. They absolutely spanked US in the TT demo. I actually feel like I have a chance now. There are still a lot of quick players out there. Hopefully only a few are in the Northeast.

Great news that GT Academy is back so soon and has reached the US. It'll be strange to follow this one relaxing as a spectator rather than being under pressure in the thick of the action but I'll be watching intently to see how my racing friends get on.

I'm sure anyone who has read the previous GT Academy threads on here knows what a treat they're in for if they make the National Finals or beyond. 👍

Good luck everyone and don't forget, if you're serious about winning, it's a good idea to do some karting and plenty of running ASAP. :scared:
 
Time to load up Prologue and start practicing with the Nissans! This will be what I do when I get the game too, all else can wait until after. I'm pumped, I didn't get a chance to do the TT demo.

Wish I knew what track they were using.
 
I am scared to think about the amount of effort I will put into this event. Am I good enough to be as fast as the top 32? :) Only time will tell.

Unfortunately the Canadian winner can't take part in this 'American' Academy 👎

They sell Nissans in Canada eh!
 
Can you play with just a controller? I just want the things in Round 2 and call it quits.

Also if you win Round 2, does that mean you also receive prizes from Round 1?
