Yes it does have the straight axle ,it looked higher than my 4x4 when i pulled it out of the yardOriginally posted by Cano
and what does "its turn" will mean to the car? you gonna restore it to its gasser glory?? hell, if you make it a street car, you'd better KEEP THE FRONT STRAIGHT AXLE setup (asuming it has one... you said it was an ex-gasser) for that mile high look of the 60s drag racers that is OMFG OMFG OMFG SO COOL!!

Musclecarfan, Cano took the words righ out of my mouth. You lucky S.O.B. I wish people were as willing and helpful as that round here.
Blue Pheonix good to hear you finally got that 400 block. Can ya post any pics??
DGB454 you gotta stick with it. I took my dad a year and a half to build his AC and nearly gave up on more than one occasion. The main problem I've heard from restoration jobs is that it does help if you've got an open mind to how much you wanna spend. It get into very high figures.
Welcome on in Cobraboy. Good link btw. I'm going to Goodwood next weekend to see some historic racing etc. The main line up of classic muscle cars I can expect are:
Mustangs
Flacons
Stingrays
427's and 289's
Daytona.
There the main V8 ones I want to see. So I'll try and get some pics for lot.. An I might be able to get a pic of my dads car.

some classes for you, but that "rover" engine in yer dad's engine bay is actually a 350 chevrolet engine. GM sold Rover the tooling for its first gen 350 blocks. now they power land rovers and other such stuff to THIS very day. so yeah, it is easy to see why it was SO easy, your dad worked wth a rebadged 350, the EASIEST engine to work with in the entire world. and Im serious about this.
