If you go back to the '80's you'll find that modding up vans was pretty big in the US, Especially in California. Vans used to be a big part of the Surf scene. Then there's the "A-Team's" custom van...
Custom vans have been around a lot longer than mini vans.

I think its awesome  . I saw a short video on Vanning, and they had some pretty wild stuff. If I had the extra money, and a fine driveable car, I'd consider trying some of this stuff....Heh, sweet..

That must be a nightmare to park, you'd have to always remember that you have a 500000000000 meter extention to the rear and/or the front. Although I bet they aren't driven around much.

I suppose they are done well, but uh I think it's kinda wierd.

Yup.

toyomatt84: Isn't that the Dodge van that can be tuned to beat stuff like Mustangs?

Both the vans XzifT posted make me want to drive into the side of them, Driver 2 style, and push them into a river.

And of course there's always this.

Now THAT is a tasty van.. The old Renault Espace with the F1 engine driving the rear wheels.. Completely useless as it has no useable cargo space but I could be persuaded to drive one I think :D

its like the New hippy vans....

Yeah, they kinda make a 1976 Dodge van with fat tires and a big chopper or pirate ship airbrushed on the side look like a reasonable vehicle.

Further proof that the Japanese will take anything American, blow it out of all reasonable proportion, and sell it back to American youth like it was a new invention...

I can't see how the two can be seriously connected. Sure, they're both forms of modifying Vans, but look at my first post, and any other post of the older 80's Vanning. There's really not alot in common if you ask me..:odd:

Vans are sweet. Astro vans are making a huge come back in the custom scene. I've seen so many people at shows with pimped out ones.

But nothing beats the Shaggin Wagons of the 70's and 80's. Wish I could rember the 80's.

But if you'd notice how little you need to spend. It's faster than it's competitors especially when comparing the price. Looks aren't everything, I'd hate to have the sweetest car in town if it can't beat a minivan.

No, but you can use it to kick ass at both the strip and the autocross lot... and haul a lot of groceries around in between.

Besides, be honest with yourself, Monster. If you were lining up against some jackoff who's ass you dearly wanted to kick, wouldn't in be all the sweeter if you did it in a $2500 minivan?

Nope. I could be in the mid 13's in one of those Caravans - including purchase of the van. Add a grand to the budget and I could be in the mid 12's.

I want that van they used in 'Old School.'

You know..the scene where they go to pick up all the "pledges" with Master of Puppets playing in the backround. That van was sweet. All black with polished American Racing wheels and chrome exhaust pipes down the sides. Oh yeah!
I thought about buying one to haul my dirtbike around in. 👍

Basically you want the "A-Team" van. They introduced that style.
