Yeah, before I lost my 100% game, I had been arrested over 40 times and died over 100 times. I only reloaded if I got busted or died during a mission and didn't want to collect armor and weapons all over again.

KM.

I don't really care about getting busted or dying since I finished all the storyline missions. You only lose about 3 CR points plus any other CR points that you have done if you had not cleared your stars to lock them in (you lose the CR points either way but at least you get to keep your other accumulated stats if you don't reload). I've killed over a thousand people in a spree and been killed and there is now way I'm going to re-kill them for some CR points.

I'm sure I've been busted at least 50 times and died at least 100 times easy.

Heh, I hardly ever die, so that's not a problem for me... ;) :p

Nah, I only have died a few times, but I always reload when I die. ;)

My CR for my game is at 4,000. :(

I'm only at something like 40% though. I accidently overwrode my 100% save, so now I have to work double time to get my unlimited ammo back. :grumpy:

Thats too bad... you didn't learn from KM's mistake....I reserve the first 3 spots for my 100% game and alternate overwriting each one with my most recent save. I use the other 5 spots for other saves. I do need to get a second memory card though to back it up.

Good luck in your new game.

Did you overwrite your 2439 jump rotation record-- that one seems to be unbeatable-- would be a shame to lose it (although you do have a screen shot).

No. My jump rotations suck at the moment. 1611 is the best I've gotten so far. But, I'm not focusing on rotations yet.

qjasonp,

You are coming along nicely but you need to do brown thunder if you want to boost your CR about 210-220,000 points in about 3-4 hours.

Practice for a while til you control the hunter real good and then start it. Most people try to do it near the airport because its fairly open. The spawning is kind of randon until level 12 then then 2 of the 3 cars will spawn in the same spot every time. if you get a good spot the third one will spawn someplace where it will destroy itself within a few seconds usually about 4 out of 5 times (this will vary sometimes).

If you get a good spot you can hover near the spawning point and just hold down the trigger on your minigun and blow them up as they spawn. Alot of times you can do 4 or 5 levels in 10-20 seconds before you have to chace down the third car. You should max out your money around level 400 or so. As your money rises you get about 1000 points per $5,000,000. At level 400 you are making $8,000,000 per level but as soon as your money maxes out at $999,999,999. The CR stops rises so fast based on the money. From this point on you only get points for vehicles destroyed and kills (as far as I know).

Also, just a tip. Your timer will go up to 99:59 and then turn over. I thought that if it got to 0 it would end the mission so I got nervous anytime I turned it over (I was afraid I would have just a couple of seconds to finish the next level). One of the times this did happen and the mission did not end. It got down to zero and then turned over in the other direction (99:59)

Good luck!

Spuds.

Thanx for the tips.
I have been doing Brown Thunder missions, but I'm just worried that I won't be able to get my CR up as hight as I want cause I'm only at 44k and I have about $33mil. Dose anybody suggest I spend some Money, or is that a OK Ratio?

When you save your game you'll get 1 point for every person you killed and another 1 point for every car you blew up. So, say you kill 3,000 villans on Brown Thunder, you'll get an extra 3000 CR when you save, plus the cars you blew up.

Besides the cr points for kills and vehicles you get that Shannon mentioned, when I did my money max out run, I calculated that you get 1000 CR points for every $5,000,000 you earn-- I'm not sure if you spend it it drops at the same rate. If I were you I would write down your CR value and your money amount and then spend a million (exactly). If your CR drops by 200 points (exactly) it drops at the same rate as it rises so it would be a waste of time to spend your money down since you would earn the same amount of CR points as you make the money back. Of course, when you take your money up to 999,999,999, if you do it in one brown thunder run, you will be making about 8 million per level at the end. You would only have to do about 4 extra levels to make back the $33 mil.

when you are buying stuff.. i'm fairly sure it goes down one point for every purchase you make (for ammo/guns/armour/health) no matter what the price is....

i haven't played in quite a while.. i've been obsessed with shadowbane on a projector (85in+ screen) with a badass computer we built about a week ago.. we hooked up vice city to the projector - it was pretty cool... anyway, when i get back into vice city - i think i can steal the rotation record.. i've gotten pretty close so far ( 2391 i believe)

Are you sure its one point. That would equate to a $5,000 purchase($1,000,000/200 pts = $5,000) I haven't tried so I'm just curious.

If so then if you purchase the PSG1 and waste all your money your CR will drop 100,000 pts but then you would make back about 220,000 by doing brown thunder again. Of course how fast can you buy 100,000 PSG1s--would take days to spend it down. Maybe I'll hire a neighbor kid to push the X button 100,000 times .

I overwrode my 100% save with my 2400+ rotation, so I'm trying even harder to get it back. :trouble:

I've gotten 1961 in about 10 minutes so far.

that sounds about right... but you can only get your ammo to 9999 per gun, so you have to die or get arrested.. and some people dont like to do that... and its very tedius too... every once in a while i sit in the ammu-nation buying psg1s and sometimes the army rifle... i think at the moment i'm down to 988 million or so.. but i have done a few brown thunder missions (maybe 200, but not at once) there needs to be a better way to spend money....

I wish there was..

I happened to go in the Downtown Ammunation and noticed the price of the PSG1 is not $10000 like I thought. It was either 5,000 or 6,000-I can't remember which now which would equate to 1 CR point per purchase (by rounding). Did you verify the one point per purchase by purchasing anything much cheaper??

If it is one point per purchase, anything you purchase less then 5,000 will reduce your CR by more then you make up by earning the money back. PUrchasing something for 5,000 exactly would be a wash (no benefit or loss other then the time to do it). If the one point does apply then the best place to reduce your money (for CR purposes) will be phils (with the more expensive weapons) although you can't purchase them nearly as fast.

I'll play around with this the next time I play and try and see. I don't want anyone to waste time spending money if there is not really a reason to. It takes away from the killing.

the only thing about phil's is you have to wait for the weapons to respawn... at ammu-nation you can get them about as fast as you can fire the cannon on the rhino... i tried phil's.. but it takes too long to wait... also - the psg1 costs 6000 and the m60 (or m4, whatever) is 5000.. i usually just max out the psg1.. it takes about 10 minutes or so.. not sure exactly how many CR or money it uses up to get it to 9999 ammo though probably about 1200 CR and $7200000 if it takes 10 minutes and you can buy every 1/2 second. but those are just estimates - i actually haven't played in a week or so... shadowbane is addictive as hell...

You sort of prove my point about spending down your money-- assuming your numbers are correct. If you spend down 7.2 million and reduce your CR by 1200 (I know you said they are estimates)like you said. When you earn the money back you wil raise your CR by 1440 (a 240 increase net if your CR is lowered by 1200 spending it down) and you said it takes 10 minutes. On a killing spree I can maintain about 40 kills/minute (38/minute by my time trial) as well as destroy about 5-10 vehicles per minute. This will give me 45-50 CR points per minute, as well as police helicopters giving me another 30 every 2-3 minutes. This will give a net of 450-500 CR points every 10 minutes for kills and vehicles and another 90-150 for helicopters giving me 540-650 CR points for the same 10 minutes of play time, plus you still have to do the vigilante to raise your money back up (although this would average your time way down if you spend your money down to zero because your money rises so fast as you approach maxing it out). I know your numbers were estimates so this is also an estimate.

I wasn't saying that the Phils spending was faster just more efficient (since the weapons are more expensive). You would have to time the weapons spawn time at phils to figure out the times and stuff and compare this to the time it takes to raise it by other methods to see if its worth it or not.

I haven't played since friday, been doing yard work and watching my kid so I haven't had a chance to test any of this. Its just something to keep in mind.

 You passed the 100,000 criminals wasted mark, Acidman! Way to go! I'm working on 2000 right now  I want to get 100% before I go an any mass killing sprees. ;) I'm at 34% right now. About 13 playing hours and counting.

Thanks man, yeah i find it much easier to get a big kill count after 100% since you have the extra health/armor, unlimited ammo, and double car strength.

Would anyone care to share a good spot with me? I might want to get over 5000...it would probably be helpful...:D

Okay I just beat the 3rd place rotation record with 2319 degrees. And no I diden't cheat, but I did use the fuse to bike glitch

I'm at 81% if I remember correctly. Haven't played in a while, damn C&C: Generals owns me at the moment. The last thing I done was the SA Street Races.
