I am excited for this but also cautiously optimistic. I like what they did with the Spyro and Crash remasters
Me too, though it's worth noting Toys for Bob did not handle the Crash remasters; that was Vicarious Visions that did.
but not 100% happy with how Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time turned out. The game on it's own was pretty good, but it (to me) didn't feel like a good follow up to the original games.
I never played that one, but I heard that the game was really hard. I kind of want to try it just to see how it is.
That may be have been impossible to do anyways, I mean how do you replicate the spirit of the original games made by an entirely different studio nearly three decades ago? But that's exactly why I think it will be tough to replicate what made the original 3 Spyro games so good.
Yep. Although I think it will be faithful to the originals in some areas, I don't think the game is intended to replicate them; rather, I feel like it's meant to expand upon them. During my playthrough of Reignited earlier this year, I noticed some parts of the game were very faithful to the originals, while other parts felt like they really wanted to add their own spin to it instead. Now that they have the freedom to do the latter, I think we can expect something pretty wild.

My mistake, had a brain fart. Thanks for the correction.

In any case, looking forward to seeing news and info on the next game. In related news I wish they would release a updated console version of Reignited Trilogy with at least 60 FPS. Played it recently and the locked 30 FPS is noticeable. But aparently increasing the FPS messes with the games mechanics or something.

Yeah, 60 fps would be nice, but I think it interferes with his jumping. There is at least one level in Spyro 1 where, if the fps is too high, you can't beat it. Fortunately, the PC version has a fix for this, but the console obviously doesn't.
