One PC game that has been on my mind a lot lately is:
Star Wars Battlefront (2004). Been playing it a ton on Xbox lately and have had a good time doing so. Knowing how the PC version is pretty much the same game, but it has a lot of mods and such, it was only natural that this game would find itself on here eventually. I mainly want to get the disc version of the game because I heard the Steam version kind of sucks. Not only that, I bought my copy of the sequel 10 years ago from a friend, who got both games in a set, so I am kind of wanting to buy his copy from him to complete it for sentimental reasons, since I am pretty sure he no longer needs it.

I said earlier I was going to get the Classic Collection, but I have decided against it now because of the things I kept hearing about it just turned me against it, and seeing what the AI upscaling did to some of the textures is enough to turn me away from it.

A new Gameboy Color game I want as of recent is:
Buck and The Cursed Cartridge. Yeah, Gamestop has actually released a new GBC game in 2025, not even joking. Being a Game Boy lover myself, it was only natural that I would take an interest in this game. I've already looked at footage of the game, and it looks fun! The only thing about it is it's kind of expensive, and availability seems questionable at best from what I've read, but I will get it someday.

A lot of WIP vids on the developer’s Youtube. The AI looks pretty good.

That looks so good, really does throw right back to Grand Prix 2. Going to keep a very keen eye on this one.

I'll check Capcom's Pragmata demo (Steam) whenever it drops on Steam (or PS5 even).

Wow, not one but two Tomb Raider games incoming: Legacy of Atlantis in 2026 and Catalyst in 2027 and they look to reboot the classical Lara Croft.

Control Resonant, the sequel to Control.

Wow. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve!

There are loads of games I want right now but between BF6 and the new GT7 Spec 3 update I doubt I'll have time to get to any of them anytime soon, it will be years until I get around to play most of the below i think.

Flight Simulator
Cronos
Silent Hill F
Tormented Souls 2
Resident Evil 9
Le Mans Ultimate
GTA 6

PMR, FH5 and Rennsport have fallen of list to be fair so the list isn't as big as it could have been.

The remake/reimagining/rewhatever of the first Tomb Raider does look good. I never completed that original game, didn't really get on with the controls at the time so a modern version is appealing.

Not interested in much else I've seen from all the new game reveals. A lot of grimdark CGI, not much actual gameplay. The Star Wars racer game sounds interesting.

New Tomb Raiders look fantastic, hopefully more of a focus on the adventure and puzzle side of things rather than shooting and killing like Uncharted, what the previous Tomb Raider reboot did. Galactic Racer should be fun, been a long time since we had anything like that so it will be interesting to see if there is still an appetite for that type of Star Wars game.

This however, definitely an appetite for:

The director of KOTOR1 is working on it, expect good things.

I am not complaining one bit about two upcoming Tomb Raider games (I am extremely excited for it) but it's also very interesting that a remake of the original game is one of them. The game was already remade (Tomb Raider Anniversary) in 2007 to celebrate a decade since the original game and that game was also just released a week or so ago on PS5. Not to mention the remastered version of the first game a few years back.

I love the original Tomb Raider, but I can't think of any other game which has received a remake twice like that. I am all for it!

Anyways, Tomb Raider Catalyst looks great too so it's a good day to be a Tomb Raider fan.

Earlier this year I get a quick glimpse of Expedition 33, got some early reviews of how good it is, but then with life being so busy, I never got the chance to check it out any further....

Then came the news last night, what is that game Clair Obscur by Guillaume Broche and his eclectic small team that swept all the video game and soundtract Awards ?!?

I need this game in my life now

The underdog, the artistic, the French, the unlikely, the RPG, the type of story line ... All that is a summary of my life, wrapped into one game ... The whole organic philosophy and the miracle that is this game... The heartfelt passion at the core of it all....

I might drop every so I can check this out over the holidays....

Edit:

Well what do you know ?!

Went on PSN and got it for 20% off :

And I just downloaded and played the Pragmata demo on Steam, and I'm SOLD! And by looking at the requirements it will run fine on either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, so kudos to Capcom on that regard too.

New KOTOR (FOTOR)?

looks up developer ... founded 6 months ago!
We're not seeing that game anytime this decade
Why do they keep doing this, announcing stuff so far far away? :banghead:

Great minds etc

"...so far far away" - I see what you did there! ;)

Just saw this.

I loved Tomb Raider II and wondered what it would look like with improved graphics. If they remake that like they’re doing with the first Tomb Raider, I might have to get back into the world of Lara Croft.

I've got some Christmas money to spend and am really struggling to pinpoint any games I genuinely want. I'm sort of interested in Rennsport simply because its the only serious console racing title I don't have. But given I'm only into single player and don't play online, everything I read is basically saying "don't bother" and putting more time into PMR probably makes more sense.

I'm semi interested in the Tomb Raider remakes, the Little Big Adventure remake, Astrobot, there are loads of games that I quite like the look of but know I probably won't actually play very much.

For the first time in 40 years on this planet I'm seriously considering just saving it or spending it on a more sensible pursuit instead. It's quite sad.

2026 games so far :

  • Both Tomb Raider as I like those kind of games.
  • RE 9 for sure
  • GTA VI (but I wouldnt put my money on a 2026 release considering we saw so far)

And thats about it atm. Aftet trying pragmata I definitely wont play it, not interested. I might do thr new star wars but definitely not a day one purchase.
