Some interesting reading in this thread. As you can all see i am a Holden supporter. Might be off to Oran Park this week also which would be good, am hoping to see Jason Bright take a win, it is well deserved at this point, and also to watch Brocky who is said to be racing that sexy XU-1 in the historics.

Jason Bright *Hangs head in shame* Murph should get a race win. If he could go from 33rd all the way up to 1st with the struggling Kmart Racing Team, surely he deserves the win
 
Here is a post for those of you who were bashing on Perkins and Richards over SBRs infringement at the Queensland Raceway round. Perkins is to face the stewards at Oran Park this weekend over an alleged technical infringement relating to the rear suspension of Richards' Commodore at the Winton round. I'm sure none of you need to be told this may be a very embarassing situation for Perkins who is usually quite vocal against teams who are caught out over technical issues. Perkins is also a vocal supporter of tougher penalties when it comes to technical infringements. I must also say that when SBR appealed against the $10,000 fine and loss of points from the QLD round, they were not saying they didn't do anything wrong, they were appealing against the severity of the penalty using cases from earlier in the year and last year as a benchmark. Eventually CAMS are going to have to hand down penalties that they think fit the crime and not allow teams to 'get off' simply by appealing the penalty. Lets hope the use Perkins as an example to the other teams.

I was wondering if any of you guys had an opinion on the alleged sabotage of Jason Bright's car on the weekend. I find it hard to believe that any of the other teams would have anything to do with it.

At least Bright's wasn't injured nor his weekend ruined by it.

I heard (dont know about anyone else) that Jason Bright said quite clearly over the in car radio, that "HRT where a bunch of ****heads"

After watching V8 superstars yesterday it was mentioned that it couldve been someone in a "blue" shirt, which leaves it open to a buch of teams, either side of the fence
 
After the 'sabotage' of Bright's car, the ECU dramas for Ambrose and the suspension issues for Richards the championship just gets a little bit more controversial.....

V8 team in secret test breach


Team Dynamik faces expulsion from the V8 Supercar Championship after being caught illegally testing in secret at an abandoned South Australian airfield.

Driver Simon Wills was spied running a camouflaged Holden Commodore at Woomera airfield last Saturday.

The car had reportedly been taken to the outback centre in a transporter with the team name and identifying logos plastered over.

It is understood the V8 was running with all identification taped over as the team conducted an unsanctioned trial.

Supercar Series organiser AVESCO received an anonymous tip-off and a representative in Adelaide drove to Woomera and caught the test run on film.

The team could be subject to disqualification from the championship and a $250,000 fine if found guilty of illegal testing, one of the competition's most serious breaches.

Wills and team members, including team manager Oscar Fiorinotto, were approached by officials who seized the car's ECU data storage box after noting equipment being used during the test.

The car's engine, chassis and roll bar serial numbers were all taken down and the ECU impounded.

An AVESCO spokesman confirmed that the matter was being investigated by the Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA).

"We are investigating an alleged breach of the testing rules by one of our teams," the spokesman said.

"If the investigation proves there was any illegal testing we would view this as extremely serious."

Team Dynamik has been improving in the Supercar series recently and Wills made the Top Ten Shootout for the first time at the last round at Oran Park in Sydney.

seriously, how stupid can you be. risking expulsion for just testing your car. ridiculous. something really wrong with the head honcos at team dynamic. They will need more than secret testing to help boost their performance
 
There is no such thing as secret testing anyway, someone always finds out, they always do.

The stewards held an inquiry on friday into the allegations of Team Dynamiks illegal test at Woomera. The result was a $104,000 fine for Team Dynamik. Kieran Wills will be appealing the severity of the penalty and TEGA will be appealing against the softness of the penalty.

They must had been some bad Mutha *^%'s
 
They weren't banned just because of how dominant they were. They were also banned because of how expensive they were to run and how expensive they, and other turbo cars, were to develop. The Australian Touring Car Championship changed to a formula that ran normally aspirated cars from 1993. Ford and Holden had to use the new 5 litre V8 cars but there were other non turbo entered. There was even a Sierra at the F1 support race at Adelaide that ran without it's turbo!
