Wow, Mostert on the front row. Super, super impressive.
What about Mostert? He looked racy. will be interesting to see what offers are put on his table.

As far as I know he's still contracted to FPR, not sure about next year. Still if I was Alex Davison, I'd be looking over my shoulder.

Today's word is: stay out of trouble(that's four but, no one's counting :sly:

Yep Yep. It's good for DJR and their sponsors this year but then, not so good for them if he leaves.

Well at least a Red Bull car didn't win. Weird how Holden & Ford split the top 10 perfectly with 5 cars each. Unfortunately Ford was at the bottom half. :(

Bring on the next one with all the Fords up front. :dopey:

Happy to see my favourite driver McLaughlin get the win, and good fights throughout the field.
I've raced against him on iRacing, he's a good guy, took time to chat with some of us after the race. That was when he was still in the Dunlop series, its cool to see him winning races in the main series now.

That WAS weird. It would have been a Rookie 1,2 if Mostert wasn't rubbed wide. again, Volvo MUST give that young man a fast car.
Another damp race and we'll see more excitement at the start for sure.

So far, good weekend for HRT & DJR.
Holdsworth needs a rabbits foot. And at least, none of the drivers at Nissan can say one has a better car than the other.

I know right? They're always running together it seems.

Edit: poor Slade. And flat for Whincup!

Well, had Slade not run off, no doubt he would be leading. the car is pretty quick this race. Easy come easy go.
I'm pretty upset the team didn't tell Holdsworth there was oil. he was moving up.

Slade up to 11th. I'm fuming. I hope Mostert can hold on though. What a race for the Rookies.

Strong possibility that Slade could have won this race, had he not run off. Real pity for Erebus.

I don't, got nothing against the guy. But come on McLaughlin. :p

haha

Damn it. And a flat tyre for Courtney too. :grumpy:

Oh well. Big congrats to Chaz Mostert, on his first win. And not to mention, Slade finishing 8th (probably could have won though) and the Nissan's of Rick & Todd Kelly in 9th & 10th. 👍

Well, great result for DJR! Awesome to see after they almost didn't make the grid this year. Chaz and Scotty have certainly shown they're going to be fighting for championships in the future, great drives by both.

The tire failures were downright weird though, shame that they ruined what could have been an awesome finish.

And if he hadn't gone off track early on, Slade could have been up on the podium too. Great job by him, and by Erebus for stepping up their game.

good race. a day for the Rookies. Great for DJR! FPR as well. we just watched racing history. The E63s look speedy due to the cooler weather. shame about Courtney. Good for the Kelly brothers to get in the top 10. Like Bernie Eccelstone says, you want good racing? Add water.

Worked all weekend so I didn't catch any racing. Looks like I missed a fair bit, Mostert and McLaughlin with wins? Awesome stuff!

Whincup won the 60/60
McLaughlin won race 23
Mostert won race 24
they're replaying the race tonight at 11/1130pm? 7mate
I think the 60/60 tomorrow at 1pm. Then, race 23 & 24 Tuesday.

Got tomorow off so I might catch that race, thank you!

Funny, if you asked me the question at the start of the year, which one of the new manufacturers would win first, I'd have said Nissan hands down. Not anymore though, in the last month or two Erebus (Tim Slade specifically) have made giant leaps with their development. Really think they are going to win a race sooner rather than later.

I think they were more worried about handling, and then let speed come. They are showing some huge gains which I'm glad to see! Nissan I think seemed to want the speed though.

The bad thing is I'm pretty much bailing on FPR as a whole.

Any pictures from this? If so can I get the site please

From what? The series in General?

I mean they are all over facebook if that's what you mean but outside that I have no idea.

Check speedcafe.com http://www.speedcafe.com/ sometimes they have more updates than Official V8 Supercars.

Nissan Motorsport do video wrap ups http://www.nissanmotorsport.com.au/

and so does Irwin racing http://irwinracing.com.au/latest-news-archive/irwin-racing-queensland-raceway-preview/

Erebus main problem is overheating. once they can manage that and the brake rotor issue, they could make serious gains. I hope they have some solution by Sandown. if it's hot there and/or they're in traffic, it'll be a looooong day. especially at The Mount.

You could probably say the same about the Nissans with their lack of straight line speed.

The issue is for them to resolve that issue they will need to redesign the whole front end of the car.

You know the front end to me always did look too narrow compared to the other three that seem to have a nice big opening.

Never really thought about it but there is no big opening for air.

Never realised that before either.

Edit: Here's a comparison pic I found.
