Xbox Australia with Triple Eight Race Engineering today announced the Xbox One Racing Team, to take part in the 2013 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.
With international champion race car drivers Andy Priaulx and Mattias Ekström behind the wheel, the Xbox One Racing Team will be boosted by the support of long time Xbox ambassador and team mentor, Mark Skaife and Triple Eight Race Engineering Team Owner, Roland Dane.
To celebrate, Xbox Australia and Turn 10 Studios – the makers of the Forza Motorsport series – have also announced Mount Panorama will be included in the highly-anticipated racing game “Forza Motorsport 5” set to launch exclusively with the new Xbox One console on November 22, 2013.
Regional Vice President, Microsoft, Greater Asia Region Alan Bowman said the addition of the Bathurst circuit was at the request of fans.
“Xbox has had a strong association with the sport of V8 Supercars over the last decade and for years Australians have been asking us to include the Bathurst track into the Forza Motorsport games.
And check this. Xbox got in before GT Academy:

05XR8GT Academy will be there next year according to the report of the Ordonez/Krumm test drive. Just mentioning XBOX is represented on the Mountain before Playstation.

In fact, Premat spoke in depth with Ekstrom about the V8 Supercars Championship and its positives earlier this year, so he was not surprised to hear of his involvement with the wildcard entry, to run as the Xbox One Racing Team.
I was talking to him in January he wanted to do something else and asked about V8 Supercars, Premat said.
I told him the Championship was really awesome and then I gave him Ludo Lacroix's number so that may be why he was in contact with Triple Eight.
While Triple Eight confirmed it was the team who approached Ekstrom he and Priaulx were high on the driver wishlist the team's technical director Lacroix will be engineering the Xbox car at Mount Panorama.
Priaulx has featured in a handful of long distance V8 Supercars races previously, having driven with Walkinshaw Racing and David Reynolds at Mount Panorama in 2009, and with Craig Lowndes and Triple Eight as an international co-driver at the Surfers Paradise event, one of which the pair finished second in 2010.
Ekstrom, however, has never competed in a V8 Supercar and Premat warns it could be an overwhelming week.
Its not going to be easy for them its one full week with lots of advertising, fans and quite a lot of driving time.
Andy knows the race track, Mattias doesnt, so he will need to learn the track, the tyres.
Its going to be a long process in the week, but they will do good. Everywhere theyve been winning races and Championships.
Its nice to have more international drivers coming through V8 Supercars and one day that could get more manufacturers into the series.
Am I the l only one thinking that Playstation/GT need to roll out a livery on a Nissan for Bathurst now or atleast one of the races?
All I can say is it's green but great to see someone step up in a big way regardless.
05XR8I remember a while back, Kaz said he would like to get more Australian cars in the game. As we just found out from Microsoft/Xbox/Turn10/Dane/Skaife, there may be some surprises from PD next week.

Couple more livery changes for Sandown. HRT to run Collingwood football colours. And Special Irwin livery for Erebus.
Yeah you wouldn't want a CC model of that going by thier recent models.
Also CC are going resin with blanked out windows.
CC aren't going to be resin, they will be plastic with black windows on 1/64 and 1/43. 1/18 will still be clear windows (I can careless about opening doors).
The reason why I said CC is because they are making the Triple 8 cars.
Last time I checked tinted windows weren't clear and they are also changing the 1/18s from diecast check the cc site.
Ha! The Irwin pic has been my wallpaper for this week
The livery has been inspired by Erebus Motorsport owner, Betty Klimenko and her well known tattoos.
SP Tools is asking fans to show their tattoos off and will roll out a competition in the lead-up to Bathurst with many money cant buy experiences being on offer.
Getting swept up in the election fever, Erebus has launched the #EREBUSVOTES competition where fans will be able to vote on their favourite of the three Erebus Motorsport V8 cars from Monday, with the winner to receive merchandise packages and tickets to one of the PIRTEK Enduro Cup events.
The #47 Heavy Haulage Australia E63 AMGs design will be launched tomorrow.
Holden Motorsport general manager Simon McNamara has called for Nissans break-through win at Winton to be overturned.
All teams signed off on the experiment where Nissan and the Mercedes-Benz Erebus team cars would be helped by using the fuel which would provide better economy compared with the categorys control E85 mix of ethanol. Selected Nissan and Mercedes-Benz entries run the E70 on the Friday and Saturday of the Winton last month.
However there remains conjecture over whether or not the E70 also results in a horsepower gain. V8 Supercars has not made public any of its dyno findings.
The Nissan and Mercedes-Benz operations are awaiting a decision by V8 Supercars on whether the category will allow those teams to run E70 at the up coming Pirtek Enduro Cup starting with the Sandown 500 next weekend.
Based on where our managing director feels it should be overturned. It was in our mind a fabricated race finish (Saturday race), McNamara told SENs Tony Schibeci during the On The Gird show.
It would be the same as Marussia turning up tonight (at Monza) and getting a special blend of fuel because they arent quite going as good as anyone else. The fact is we are in a parity formula.
Everybody is running the same stuff. The Erebus guys, the Nissan guys and the Volvo (entering in 2014 with Garry Rogers Motorsport) know what the engine regulations are what you need to do to get your car where it needs to be.
The Kellys have been building Holden engines for a number of years with their own teams and they are very clever guys. And they know where to get to.
Weve done long standing work and time to make sure where our engines need to be.
Oh boo hoo. Did they miss the published telemetry numbers showing that the Nissans were still slower than the Holdens and Fords down the straights? What a crock.
