Exactly, also not sure why they need to whine so hard, considering how many championships and wins they have in just the last couple yearss alone.

That's what Holden does best is complain, They always have, I think it was 1999 or 2000 where AVESCO said that all the Holden nose cones had to have a 140mm deep hole the width of the nose cone cut from it, to take away some ground effect from the cars, it didn't do much to a 1500kg car bar shave maybe 1 tenth off lap times, but it was enough to make the cars more equal, The moaning didn't stop until the BA/VY bodies came in,

McNamara's always been a crybaby...

Regarding parity for the veteran manufacturers, didn't all the cars have to add weight because the Falcons were finding it hard to reach minimum kg?

Like someone said if Whincup's car did not break this would so be a non issue. I guess they smelled the home cooking and did not like that it wasn't made by their momma lol

I find it pretty funny how Whincup always is whining but Lowndes just accepts he got best and does better!

No one else was complaining, so just let it ride and let them have their moment of glory for atleast a day!

Yep. Wonder what he'll whine about when Erebus and Volvo score their first wins?

You already know the answer to that question!

Back to enduros! So I got an email back from Triple 8 which kind of surprised me BUT no merchandise for Bathurst for Xbox One which is a bummer to me (since I think it would be a great marketing for everyone involved). The good news to some is they might be making some diecast (yeah hold the bad vibe about who makes it) which I would be super stoked to get the one for a one off race.

Indeed.👍

And in an move to put an end to the E70 fuel "controversy". Mandatory pitstops for enduro cup.
V8 Supercars will stipulate a minimum number of pitstops for each of the three Pirtek Enduro Cup races in its latest effort to appease new-for-2013 players Nissan and Mercedes.
The V8 Supercars Board voted through the compulsory pitstop initiative today following the outcry over the reduced ethanol blend fuel trialled in the Nissan and Mercedes cars at Winton.
All cars will run the regular 85 percent ethanol blend for the endurance events, despite V8 Supercars again underlining its findings that the fuel run at Winton provided no performance advantage.
This weekend’s Sandown 500 will require each car to make a minimum of four pitstops, while stop requirements for the Bathurst 1000 and the Gold Coast 600 are yet to be determined.

Advantage back to Holden as they can run less fuel meaning the cars are lighter although its not the first time it's happened.

Same thing happened after Larry's win in 1995.

They're still experimenting in the worse way again. They should have kept the rules as is with E85 for everyone and use their own strategies. And see the results at Sandown before Bathurst. This way they, if the E63s and Altimas happen to be 2-3 laps down on the field, the could adjust from there.

I agree with that, but seems someone starts complaining so they just change it to make it even worse.

@PitlaneWB: I'd throw some fuel into the fire on the compulsory pit stop debate, but @toddkellyracing stole any spare fuel I had before I could. #V8SC

Can you imagine the sheer amount of conspiracy theories if Nissan and Erebus clock up podiums during the enduros?

Haha! The launch for the Bathurst 1000 is on in Sydney today, but meanwhile I'm currently heading to Mt. Panorama myself for a little scenic drive. :sly:

Edit: Sitting up on the mountain right now!

Stop rubbing it in!

Wow, all this debate about the fuel appears to be bringing V8SC into disrepute by them selves,

Might even give away my Bathurst tickets seeing as that looks like its going to be made artificial by V8SC, Thanks for ruining it AVESCO, Clearly the best way to kill a series,

Sorry, couldn't help it! Thought you guys might get a kick out of it, especially you non-Australian guys. :D

The thing I don't get is, the E63s had their problems like everyone at Clipsal. I didn't hear or notice them fuelling longer because of the heat issue that was taking place at the same time. Even at the AGP, they were struggling for balance not so much engine power. Even Moffat came fifth in that race.

The race at Skycity, Erebus were still at the front even after the pile up. The NISSANs were still holding there own in the corners and that has a long straight like COTA and Sandown.

I'd like to know exactly how much fuel they need to take unless the 60/60 and sprint races at COTA(V8SC "said" they wanted to "show" North America the exitement of pit stops) were to cover up the fuel issues.

Who knows man, all I know is all this back and fourth arguments from all parties is sucking the life out of the sport,

I'm blame BS started by Holden a good reason for the issue. I hope Nissan and Erebus come out more powerful next year and I hope Volvo has a good first season too, I don't think V8 supercars needs to be isolated motorsports like America tries to pull.

My issue is that there are rules to build too, and Mercedes and Nissan had time to develop the equipment and perhaps it wasn't enough time, but still, you got to do the best with the cards your dealt and they clearly are ready to compete for race wins,

Why make rules around other teams because they are struggling, seems unfair to the other teams who have done it right,

I agree, V8SC should adjusted all this at the end of the season.

More on Tim Slade's future.
Speculation that Tim Slade will depart Erebus Motorsport at the end of the year has intensified ahead of the resumption of V8 Supercars action at Sandown this weekend.
Slade’s future has been under the spotlight for some months, with the Mercedes-Benz outfit repeatedly making it clear that it is keen to retain the rising star.
Despite appearing close to a new deal prior to Winton, sources suggest that Erebus has now been informed of Slade’s impending departure.
Moving to Walkinshaw Racing, which has already re-signed James Courtney and poached former Triple Eight team principal Adrian Burgess ahead of 2014, has long been mooted as Slade’s alternative to staying at Erebus.
Erebus, through its team manager David Stuart, declined to give any comment on its position with Slade, while a Holden Motorsport spokesman confirmed only that no driver has yet been formally signed on to replace Russell Ingall in Walkinshaw’s third car.
Moving away from Erebus would almost certainly see an end to Slade’s professional relationship with long-time backer James Rosbenberg, who owns the Racing Entitlements Contract that the driver has competed under during his four years within the formerly Stone Brothers Racing squad.
The South Australian had been known to be frustrated with Erebus’ struggles earlier this season, but now says he’s likely to remain with the team into 2014.
“I’m still talking to Erebus but at this stage I see no reason why I won’t be continuing on there, regardless of what Slade does,” he told Speedcafe.com.
“There have been other opportunities out there but my preference and desire is to stay with Erebus. I think they’re on the right path now.”

Obviously I'd like to see Slade at Walkinshaw but it would be such a huge blow for Erebus if he does leave. He has been a standout for them so far.

Slade to Walkinshaw in 2014

Disappointed for Erebus. He is by far their best driver and some of his performances in a car that's in it's first year of development have been phenomenal. At the same time though, Burgess in pit lane and now Slade in Ingall's seat. Walkinshaw is really looking strong for next year.

Well you can't blame either for wanting to move up, atleast they aren't trying to block a move or aren't bitter.

I'm not a fan of his for some reason but I think it's his cartoon head, but glad to see him get a stronger role.

Speak of the devil, Slade quickest in practice 1.

cartoon head.

Haha. I wasnt a fan of his when he first came to SBR. of course he was fresh but, I didn't think he had it in him because, SVG was the hot hand. Then, last year he was right there with SVG. Good for him. He proved his worth at Erebus and you/I can't be upset at this future champ. I hope it is a fast car as Ingall hasn't showed its true speed.

Now, which TWO drivers will be Maro and Holdsworth's teammates? :sly:

Edit: and two Walkinshaw cars crash into one another

Like 05XR8, I wasn't much of fan until he joined SBR and stepped his game up. Needless to say if the speculation is true, I'm really looking forward to seeing what he can do in the third Walkinshaw car next year.
Edit: and two Walkinshaw cars crash into one another

Just as long as they don't do that during the race. :scared:

Happened to him last year when he got smashed up the rear at Clipsal. Then he smashed that Corvette on the mountain. I know it's the past but, maaAAAaannn...
