I wouldn't read too much into it - there has variously been talk of Macau, India, the Philippines, Korea and Indonesia in recent years. None of it has come to anything.

Perhaps V8's should look at their own dying championship and actually attempt to have a clue what they are doing rather than expand now. Be the height of stupidity.

That's on James Warburton,

Tony Quinn weighing up Tekno sponsorship.
Darrell Lea owner Tony Quinn says his company is yet to decide whether it will continue as a sponsor at Tekno Autosports once Shane van Gisbergen departs at year’s end.
Quinn is expected to reinvest a portion of the funds back into VIP in order to retain a minority stake, but will place his day-to-day focus on the management of Darrell Lea.

“I think VIP Petfoods has done enough with the V8s, but Darrell Lea is still there and still has a lot of things to do,” Quinn told Speedcafe.com.

“Tekno, no matter who they attract, is going to have to get a driver that will represent Tekno in a similar way Shane van Gisbergen has, and that is not going to be easy for them.

“We are absolutely committed until the end of this year and if there is a good option for next year then yes (we would continue).

That Bathurst winner could be Percat.

That Bathurst winner could be Percat.
It's apparently Mostert. As far as I understand from what was being said on Inside Supercars.

Didnt seem much like news when Chaz said, "You wont see me on this panel if you keep asking me questions like that!"

I'd like to know who is seriously thinking about hosting V8s at this "new" venue.

I can't see Holden letting go of Percat willingly - I imagine that they would be looking to have him fill Tander's seat when Tander leaves. Percat would only really jump ship if he was disgruntled, and to be blunt, the move to LDM was only really to keep him in the sport.

That said, Mostert leaving PRA makes sense if he wants long-term job security.

I'd prefer that Percat stays at LDM, providing the rumours are true, as he is somewhat likeable in the role of performing well in a struggling team.

So, if Penske gets the Mustang, does he make it a 3-4 car team? Pye, Ambrose, Mostert(possibly Reynolds or someone else)?

I can't see him growing the team that quickly. If anyone could, it's Roger Penske, but he didn't get to where he is by over-playing his hand.

For sure he was always thinking of getting Australians over there.

gonna be a tight fight though. nice under lights. but too narrow there.

I think a street race in another country is a fantastic idea. It'll probably suit the cars more than a high speed Grand Prix circuit and will probably draw more spectators. Hopefully this is the right time to be attempting to pull off an international event again.

Definitely good news for the series. Should be great to watch!

Can't see penske going for a non works outfit when you have lexus currently strongly linked to the series.

Penskes ford connections are not exactly the end to all, they are running Chevy engines in indy car and previously were in charge of the Mercedes works engine unit for Mclaren, with Illmor(who now make the chevy engines in Indycar).

Having Toyota factory support with Penske would be unstoppable stuff, we would be talking about the Biggest Car maker teamed with the biggest race team on the planet.

Promotional video for the event, which includes a circuit layout - and it looks pretty nifty:

Yeah, I like the look of it from that video. Flows rather nicely and there appears to be plenty of overtaking opportunities.

Local asian countries are common sense imo, transportation shouldn't be as difficult and they are all rapidly developing markets.

And most of all people will watch unlike the useless cashed up middle eastern races.

Better than I thought. Flows like Macau in its fastest sections.

Yeah I agree, and who's to say any Ford affiliation will go to any current Ford team, though in thought it would be most likely to go to a team that has the equipment to manufacture the car, that could be any team PRA, T8, BJR, Kelly boys, Erebus, GRM, DJR, or maybe even a REC holder rental team like Super Black, Bottl'o, LDR and possibly Wall Racing if your willing to come from left field that could finance the build or possibly grow to be able to do that,

Roland Dane was pushing for coupes. Who knows? Maybe he wants a Mustang.

He's a whiner, but also an incredible businessman, who knows what's up his sleeve,

I have no idea. His dealings with Holden could be pushing to get the Camaro in somehow. Maybe the Mustang does so well here, Holden customers start screaming for "their" coupe to come over. How many cars have to be sold in Australia to be included in Supercars?

Well, in the latest issue of Auto Action, apparently the development of the V6 Turbo is underway, with somewhere between a 3.6 to a 3.8 litre looking to be equivalent to the V8.

Oh, and that Cadillac V6 Turbo is expected to be the Prototype engine of use in the Holden Commodore VF COTF chassis.
