Legend.!

There needs to be just 5 more cars on the grid.

McLaughlin has the start. Reynolds in second.

He can't qualify for crap but another great start from GT, 11th to 7th in the first lap. 👍

Good few opening laps here.

Reynolds got by McLaughlin.

Is this great or what?
Hopefully Reynolds can keep it clean and doesn't mess the strategy up so he can take another win. If Winterbottom wants to be in this race at the end, he needs to get past McLaughlin.

Im looking at Tander and T.Kelly. will be good results if they can stay in the top 10 at the end. I also womder if Pye is on a Hard/Soft/Soft. His car was fast towards the end.

And Coulthard gets Tandered at the hairpin.

uh oh. What do you all think about that?

I just knew the Volvo wouldn't last the distance. :ouch:

Scotty Mac and Volvo is back... in the garage :(

Damnit, the GRM guys just can't catch a break.

Garry needs to give Scott the 34 car for the next round, Wall doesn't have problems... but that might be due to the speed at which he drives it (ie not fast)

[edit: as I say that, Wall gets a drive thru for pit speeding ]

Go Heimgartner!

Holdsworth is like Prince Valium from Spaceballs.

If only the HRT cars had qualified better, what could have been...

Courtney is going too hard. Hes lucky.

Nice to see Winterbottom with a healthy points buffer.

Frosty's car will look great with a #1 on it next year. :sly:

I tell you what, Caruso had a terrible start, was double stacked on pit road, and hit the wall pretty hard while riding Moffat's bumper, and still came home 11th....

Speaking of Nissan, I just have this feeling that if they don't figure something out to get those cars running up front consistently by the end of 2016, I'd bet they pull the plug on the whole deal.

In saying that, its pretty tough to place in the top 10 when there are 5 fast Fords, 4 fast HRTs, 2 fast RBRAs and a Tekno, a Volvo and one or two BJRs. Theres no room. I believe theyll stay. The Nissans go well. I think the brothers switched cars on Caruso and Mofdat when they weren't looking.

There would just be no incentive for them to dump more money into a new car and/or engine for 2017 and have to dig their way through the same mess they are still trying to get out of. Then again, we are two years going with these new manufactures and they are all struggling still. The high point being Scotty when his car is actually working.

Nissan will be happy to finish like they did at Bathurst last year(2nd, 7th and 8th). As long as they're close in the top 7 consistently in qualifying and race finishes, I'll call that a win for them. And for Rick to still be top 10 half way through the year is great. I can't wait dor the upgrades. Plus, the demo in KL.

Nissan where lucky last year at bathurst though as the car had little pace in the back half of the race, This year they should have a good chance at winning pace wise with the drag reduction.

Exactly. Their highspeed pace at Darwin was good. We know they can handle. Those engine upgrades can only give them more confidence to attack. On the other hand, T.Kelly's 233km/h during today's qualifying was 15km/h slower than Heimgartner.

That may come down to where they record the speed, I was worried about the Viper at Le Mans because it was 30kph down on the straights, but they were braking in the middle of the speed trap, Todd may be doing the same thing,

That would likely have more to do with Grip and acceleration as the top speed of the track isn't that high for Drag to come into a effect too much.
