@MrMel: I want to use the Nismo 270R but I overupgraded it I think.
=> I have to wait for a new one showing up in the UCD

But what do you think of my testing ?

I think I have one stock. Ill check tonight. If send a FR and send it over.

The R31 might fit. I'd be fine with you testing it.

FH, thanks for helping out man! :)

Also, a couple of notes for Grand Valley East Reverse. When you come to "Lakeside" (the double apex left hand corner,) you *MAY* use the entire track, and the run off room to the outside of the circuit. Do not put your tires in the grass there for any reason.

Finally, most cars shall reach 220 km/h on the straightaway. Cars going as slowly as 218 km/h, or as fast as 222 km/h are fine.

I'll be reviewing replays, to determine if there's a car that handles too well, or reaches too high speeds in straightaways after our Pre-season round this weekend.

Sorry I didn't open a room earlier as promised, traffic was hell -.-

Did some testing tonight with both the Volvo c30 and the Civic type R.

In the Volvo i was struggling quite a bit to get my times around 1:8.000, the biggest problem im finding with it is that i cant manage to keep the tyres good for more than 4 laps. Then i stepped in to the Civic and was managing 1:7's for my first 5 laps then in race situation a 1:7.2!!!!!!!!! the car is a beast!!

Had some good fun races which where closer than i thought they where going to be, cant wait till Saturday now! should be fun :D

Did a new personal best tonight. 1:07.357. Starting to love the car more and more. Still at 266/1100 spec. I think I can shave off a little more time in the first two corners. The car is not stable enough for me when I go around the corners. Little bit of understeer going into turn two, but that can be ironed out.

went back to the original setup (236/1200). 1:08.486

My fastest time is a 1:08.12.... I'm going to need more pace because I'm not getting good tire wear either. I have the worst combo ever: slow and bad tire wear... And then there's the guy who hops in his red civic and is way fast....

No idea what my tire life is like. I usually tune, run 3 laps and then more adjustments. Front right tire is going faster than others. But I suspect everyone is experiencing the same.

Yea, could just be me yanking on the wheel too much (I've got a fairly good amount of under steer too) I'm interested to see how I do in the stop races.

i was the one in the red civic and it just felt good without a doing any tuning, had loads of turn in compared to the Volvo C30 and allot better top end aswell as being good on tyres = perfect :D

Looks like I tried to tune too hard :(

The Civic Hawaiian used is great. No body upgrades to it and just some external engine mods, 1:07s @1200kg.

Right. How's the rotary campaign doing?

Damu, Norm...?

I'm especially interested in hearing what times people with the FR cars are running.

Double post for GOOD REASON.

I'm going to make a new thread; specifically dedicated to pre-race and post-race discussion.

This means, effectively, driver's meetings, and a chance for drivers to apologize for mistakes.

Driver's Meetings: these are "guidelines" that give information for each new circuit, and such. This means, that we'll be discussing passing zones (where not to pass,) corner names (even tracks that don't normally otherwise have corner names,) and specific details about kerb usage etc.

Chance to apologize for mistakes: Drivers who apologize and acknowledge their mistakes will be given reduced penalties, or, depending on situation, may have the penalty completely removed.

Link to the Driver's Meetings thread. If you have corner-specific questions; ask them there.

Please subscribe to this thread. Most of the stuff I discuss is common sense, but, there are some tracks which are difficult to navigate in traffic. (Mainly street circuits, where "no passing zones" may be used)

I've also found a way to make the Manufacturer's Points System work. The points total of a Manufacturer (Peugeot, Mazda, Honda etc.) will be divided by the number of drivers from that Manufacturer.

Also, Nismo and Nissan are being joined as one manufacturer, because their cars share the same platforms, chassis, and engines. Spoon Hondas will be included as Hondas.

I might try out a rear drive car again. Possibly a BMW 1 series coupe.

Shhhhhh

After all the testing and tweaking last night I'm still stuck in the 1:09's. The 'Liner feels unbelievable but can't get rid of that horrid understeer on corner exit. Pushing to hard I guess ...

I will set-up some more Cars for Saturday.
Will go with them Wankel´s RX7 and RX8.

@MrMel: I have tested a few FR cars. S2K, Z4, Silvia´s (Nismo, Sileighty and 240SX), Benz 190E.
Times seen in my previous post. Others have to test them too, because I don´t think I´m the fastest guy so maybe they are a bit too good.
All are great to drive but one is going to be Tested again (the Nismo) thanks to NismoDr3 and or FlyinHawaiian77.

Did you already get the 270r? I sent you a FR last night so I could send it.to you. 👍

Got my car tested @ 1:07.514 by a certain GTP user with my current settings. Running 272/1100. Looks like the car will be competitive. Now just to try and brush up on my Driving 101. Lol

What car are you running again?

Oh and Mel, what are your thoughts on the Spoon S2K? Not the race car version. I took it out last night and was getting 1:08's with no mods or tuning. I figured if were letting the spoon hatch run, this should be able to also right?

cool, looks like the racing will start at 10.30 in the uk according the current summer time

EDIT: just seen that the whole of Europe's clocks go forward! Why cant it not be simple lol

10.30pm sounds even better to me. I have just registered for the series I'll be using the Volvo. Look forward to seeing you all either at practice or the race. Who do I need to add to my friends list on psn by the way?

Ahh ok. 👍 I guess I should have figured by your name alone.

Ok so the Integra goes super quick through the corners but lacks on the straights, as people in the race found out. I'm hitting 1:08 flat in practice, but the car dies in the race if it can't open up round the corners then it falls back. The Peugeot 207 GTi is a boss at 276 bhp and 1200 kg, I did have it at 1100kg at one point, but that extra 100kg makes a difference to the handling. The Elise is just scary, so I won't be using that... I can't anyway if we have success ballast. :D

See how she feels with a low and mid range turbo. I went with mid range for my S2K. Would have been happeir if a super charger was available. If its one thing Honda knows nothing about its TQ.

If anybody wants to test:

I could bump the car up to a ridiculous bhp and tune it down, see how that does, but between looking after my sister and sleeping in for much of the day, with having work in an hour and some chores to get out of the way, I haven't had time for ALMS today. I'll be testing GP/F in the BMW for half an hour.
