The stewards will announce warnings later. The warnings, following this points example, will include how many points a person would have lost, in the normal season, for a penalty incurred by the action warranting the warning.

(You'll be told how many points you would have lost, if we weren't nice, and somewhat forgiving people.)

Investigation notices: 4 official investigations in Race 3, and only 20% of race covered. Yeah, plenty of warnings to give. :grumpy:

Further details unavailable, except by PM request. (PMs are Private messages, on GTPlanet or on PlayStationNetwork.)

Drivers involved and Team of Stewards members will be notified of a pending investigation, and the location, lap number, and race number of the incident. Drivers involved will not be informed of involvement in crash until after the ruling is made.

We follow an "innocent until proven guilty" logic. Please do not assume that you have received reprimand of any sort, until the final notification is given, at which point you may ask for more information, apologize or appeal.

Apologies may be given in this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=255582

Incidents reported through PMs will be investigated. Please be as specific as possible, to aid us in the search for the incident. This means: including lap number, (if possible) race number, corner number/name, and drivers involved. If you can't remember a lap number, but can remember if the incident occurred before, after, or during a pitstop, please include that information. It's very helpful.

Damu, the dropping back and gunning it early wasn't cool though... just stick with the pack next time :)

My bad. However, it wasn't me just dropping back, it was the awkwardness of how far back the car in front of me was (in qualy) compared to the next row. Although that doesn't excuse my "huh wtf is this, wtf do I... POWER!"

Mel, I shall PM in a while after rewatching the replays.

Update: done race 2, forgot to record race 1, yet to see race 3

I dont blame you, after watching it, the guys in front were the guys that wouldn't keep up... Solution: pass!

I think the cars were pretty evenly matched. My Focus was awesome on soft tires, but not so great on mediums. I was running low 1.09s on mediums and mid 1.07s on soft. Heck I won the pole. I ran for the pole 1.07.016 or something close to it. Too bad I made 1 mistake and stayed out 1 lap to many on softs. Race 2 I led the most laps, but just didn't have enough for johnny. Race 3 I forgot to put softs back on the car, so I ran mediums the whole six laps. I never was higher than 5th. Oh well I had fun, bring on Tsukuba.

Here are my notes from watching the replay, for the accidents I was told to look at. In my opinion you'll see a pattern in the crashes... And as a whole, they weren't too major (with the exception of one or two) and if everyone's a little calmer for the next race we won't have as many problems!

Lap 2: turn 2, Killer midget got into Cnd, which pushed him into storm.

Lap 2: tunnel, midget turns into Cnd, pushes him into the walls of the tunnel.

Lap 2: hairpin, midget rams Johnny

Lap 2: stadium, midget goes inside of damu, damu goes inside of Johnny and damu gets taken out.

Lap 5: turn 2, Seth got up into Mel, causing him to go into the wall.

I added some accidents that I thought needed noting... Can you see the pattern?...

As long people don't attempt to go through the smallest gap then there won't be to many problems but some get to eager.

I just did what Mel told me to look at, which were your incidents. I just found some more while watching that part of the race. Not saying I got them all, I didn't. Did you ask Mel about those accidents? That's what your supposed to do.

This isn't really the correct thread, or even the correct place.

Hold off accusations until official rulings are given.

Zack, thanks for apologising. I just hope to keep all that stuff in the Drivers' Meetings thread.

EDIT: Moved to the appropriate thread...:dunce:

what do people mean by leaving no room, just interested to see what peoples views on leaving room are, do they mean in the overtake or on exit of the corner after overtaking

No one shall force another car off line, through direct contact, or otherwise unforgivable action,

(Don't put someone on grass. Leave at least 1.2 car widths.

oh sorry

ok thanks just i wandered what level of defending we could do if someone wries to hold it round the outside, just in real life i have always seen, and been told to run the driver out of road, not with contact but just make them back off so you have a gap between them and you, and some people were doing this and others were leaving more roomnand i just wanted it cleared up thanks

Your #1 goal is to avoid a crash. This makes lobbies more fun. Then, your #2 goal is to learn (new racing lines, and to learn from mistakes.) Then your #3 goal is to win.

Everyone's allowed to fight for and defend positions-WITHOUT CONTACT.

You weren't the only person to make a mistake. Everyone must abide by the rules.

Finally, I grew up in karting too. I didn't much like seeing my friend flip in a pretty horrendous crash. It's the same idea; don't crash. The results are only slightly less physically painful.

i got stretchered of when racing in italy as a driver paralised me, and ive done a double barrel roll so i know what you mean about rying not to crash

I think the crash count will go down the more we all race with each other. I already was comfortable with about half of the field because they race in the Rolex SCS. Everyone drives differently, so we just need to race with each other more. Also the more we mess up, the more we understand the extent of the rules which leads to even cleaner and harder racing. Let's see how Tsukuba and the rest of the preseason goes before we all go postal on each other. LETS DO THIS!!!!:):D

Words of wisdom, CND Style!

Hmmm. Ok some points I've been wondering about:

1) should we do a formation lap of 70mph until last corner then slow down to 40/50 or something else to guarantee the group is bunched properly.

2) the 2 tyre compound seems cool, but maybe consider a window so we don't get someone getting loads of clear air so we are actually racing wheel to wheel (theoretically).

3) a 1 hot-lap qualifying done by doing a quick 1 lap race prior to this proposed session (although with how many cars there are).

To be honest I'm quite neutral about 2) & 3) but thought just get them out there

On point #1, I think the start should be bumper to bumper side by side at 40 mph once you get out of the last corner. Anyone who lays back and jump the start will be a mandatory penalty and you have to start last the next race.

In my opinion, the 2 tire compound part of this series introduces a real strategy to the races. When do I pit? Should I drive slower and save my RS tires? Am I driving so slow to save the tires I might as well put on RM's and go all out? Do I start in RM's or RS? If you adopt a pit window it takes some of that strategy away, especially concerning tire wear. If you say adopt a pit window for example of laps 6-9 then tuning or driving smoother and making your RS tires last more than 9 laps is no longer part of the strategy because that's as far as you can go on the tires without pitting. It'll just become an all out sprint on both compounds with no tire saving strategy necessary, in which case, you might as well just go with one compound instead of two.

Just my two cents...Canadian cents...:sly:

Does anyone have NormL's PSN address? Can't seem to find it anywhwere. Or if you're watching Norm can you PM me? Got a couple of questions for you.

It's norml804. Remember to be polite though please.

Also, the starts were a learning curve. Most of the new drivers made a few mistakes. I use my horn to count down during standing start races, using the GT5 countdown timer idea, "meep, meep, mmmmmmeeeeeep." If everyone can hear that, the standing starts should be great.

Rolling starts should probably be run with a "stop zone" to line people up double file. At Tsukuba, we will test new starting procedures. The Drivers' Meeting thread will be used to explain where to stop.

No changes to two compound rule; I liked the degree of strategy, and the pitting was the best part of the round; it was, in my opinion, almost flawless.

 Nah it's not like that. Norm was the only other driver in the RX-8, I just wanted to get his thoughts on the car. But Norml804 doesn't come up in the drop down menu when I compose a message. Norml does...but not Norml804...:grumpy:

You might have to send him a friend request first. Or, if all else fails, I can refer you to his GTPlanet username:

" Scca Norm "

Copy/paste into your GTPlanet private messages, and I'll PSN PM him to tell him that you sent him a message.

I applied to this series. I'd love to race with you guys using the Mazda RX8!

Welcome in again! I know you'll enjoy the ALMS, just, not quite as much as this one. XD

Just out of curiosity ... why are we not running with rear spoilers?
Is it because of unfair advantages or just because the vehicles look so much better without them.
Just something I was thinking of last night ...:sly:

It´s because some Cars get front Downforce.
Not the Standards but a few Premiums.
=> Too avoid that advantage no spoilers respectively no Downforce

(Hope I´m right)

Again sorry that I missed it but I wanted but my Router/PS3 or PSN in general didn´t want me to log-on.
So will be there this Saturday at Tsukuba.

So are you/we planing with a rolling start ??
Because this has to be practiced alone. In addition every single detail has to be written down cristal-clearly.

It works if everybody knows what to do and when to accel/overtake.
Passing at SF-line ? or Passing after last Turn (so no SF-Straight Brakechecking)??
Max speed of the Pole-driver and such things.

If thats done it will be better than Standing starts and there will be no real advantage for RWD/MR/AWD cars at the Start compared to the FWD´s.
