WOWOWOWO calm down guys
Well in Real-life Motorsports AWD and RWD got "penalties" compared to the FWD´s.
AWD´s weight > RWD weight > FWD weight
1100kg FWd => 1150kg RWD => 1175-1200kg AWD
But all tend to get the same Power (in RL).
So why do RL rules penalize the AWD´s ?? Correct because AWD seams to be better than both other drivtrains.
But in that list the MR layout is missing. MR is even superior to AWD if used and tuned correctly (Tire wear and lap-time).
So MR cars get more weight (1175-1200kg) and less power (-10-15bhp) to compensate the superb balance MR cars normally have.
===> In RL there are other things to limit the RWD´s etc for example: RWD´s don´t get a FC-Tranny
But in GT5 you can´t do that due to no control system.
=> RWD´s/AWD´s/MR´s should get a tad less power 10bhp less.
===> This should keep FWD//RWD//AWD//MR to a competitive level and here would be a better driver the difference maker.
But GT5 is different here too. Some cars have huge level of grip and have to loose even more power.
==========> What do we learn from this ??
a) Limit the amount of different Drivetrains
b) Limit the amount of Cars
c) Just move on and say: Everybody could Test all Cars on the list. And the one with the OP Car is the lucky one who discovered the Car.
d) Make individual Penalties/specs so you limit a faster Driver instead of a Car.
e) PP limit. But that is not so easy aswell and maybe cause even more OP cars.
I don´t want to interfere in your Way of doing it MrMel but above is just a collection of RL and GT5 (I watch many different series and have run many Cars in GT5 at different specs and pp ranges).
I have tested 14 Cars on your list and I even choose the EVO VII (not the VIII) and I couldn´t get near to some FF Times or RWD Times
=> Maybe my way of tuning the Car isn´t perfect.
