Even after that race 2 incident, I feel quite honoured.
Before, racing had started I felt like asking for closing down division 2, so that we could start maybe half an hour earlier to help the flow into Rolex.
However, now I reckon asking for the whole "series" to be put back into the testing phase would be more appropriate, hopefully to become a Phoenix that rises from the ashes. I mean, with how many competitors there are dropping out...
The things that I feel went wrong (-), with some suggestions (+):
- Using Madrid first, stuff was inevitably going to happen.
- There was nothing put in place for when a collision happened, especially after Madrid. Okay, my bad, shoot me down as you will for that race 2 incident. Though, I had been rammed into the barriers in race 1 by a certain someone

.
+ I reckon red flag the race. Person who caused the accident to the rear + 10 second penalty & take into account pit lane length. Therefore, if a pit costs 25 seconds, then the people who have pitted should probably restart that far behind.
- Changing the rules about the success ballast after race 1 was, to be frank, a joke. Even more so with the decision being less than a full day before the race. My 1st proper braking zone without it was against where I had that incident (which I didn't help by having RM on at the time). We can find something to set up better if we want such a penalty.
- We restarted for others between 3-5 times, which I can tolerate to an extent. Yet with all of these "Formation Laps," not one was done efficiently. 60mph means either 60mph or 96kmh.
+ For those who insist on changing tyres after backing out. How about we do a 15 minute qualifying session. We then use the next 5 minutes free to allow people to finish their hotlaps (chequered flag scenario), and for those who want to change tyres, to go round once, pit in and change compounds.
- Seth's valid point about a pit strategy. I understand that the rules meant JP's strategy was fine, but most FF drivers will not be able to pull of that strategy.
+ I think maybe let the middle 50% of the race (formation lap doesn't count, hence racing laps 3-7) be a pit window. That way there's still a significant amount of strategy, but allows for FF's to join in the fun. Though what confuses me the most, was that Seth never seemed to mention it at GVE or Madrid (that I can remember), or that he didn't notice us going into the pits even.
- It was too rushed. This is the ultimate underlying problem. The races need to be rushed because of Rolex and other commitments, yes. But the weekly schedule may be too much. The race series was started even with questions flying left, right and centre.
+ Maybe consider doing the series fortnightly, alternating with Rolex, so that we kill two birds with one stone. It will also allow for issues to be resolved efficiently in the break period. It also allows for Saturdays to be free every other weekend for socialising
