Well I have posted that many times before, a long time ago as well before I came to GTP...

I heard in arcade mode, you can set a race with up to 99 cars + you, of YOUR choice. 100 cars total! Wicked racing, sooooo real.

And I also heard that there is different leagues on different discs, like touring, dragging, and more..................but thats what I hear (rumors)

Nope not true. If you had that much AI is would be too much for the PS2. Plus I dont think there is enough space to hold that many AI on the disc (programmed onto it). Plus if you could pick them, people would just race slower cars and that would lower the quality of the game...

Hmmm, you could be right, but I'm pretty sure that it is a lot more that they are using to run GT3 and GTC... I have heard that a couple of times, read it in magz, etc.

Plus, in the "rainy" races in GT3, you only get 4 cars on the grid. The reason for this is that with the spray effects, the PS2 can handle only 4 cars. In any other race you have got 6 cars so I'd like to think that they are reasonably close to the full capabalities of the lovely PS2!

This would be my conclusion. If you know or think otherwise then gimme some feedback or a source.

Eh, maybe in another 200 years

Its not really space, but more of like multi-tasking. Kind of like trying to solve 4 long math equations simultaniously or trying to recite the alphabet, while walking on your hands, going in a figure eight pattern, while blinking your eyes in one second intervals. The PS2, like us, can only handle so much information at one time so there are limits. All the information for 99 AI cars on one track would be overwealming. Anyway, 100 cars on one track is kind of crowded...

Thats why there gonna bring out a system called the PS3 ! DUH! :banghead:...

Exactly. I don't think that GT's AI would be more complicated than, say...walking and chewing gum at the same time. ;)

Well its pretty complicated. It has to have the "Intellegance" to run all the AI on the track. Their race lines, when they pit, etc...
