Nope. Lower tiers.. And I'm done with bombers. B24 and B17 are pointless as they get gangraped by jets.. Maybe 1 good run if you do a shallow dive to target and then try to run away.. But most often you don't succeed..

 Just casually browsing the War Thunder threat and got some War Thunder advertisement at the top. Quite fitting!

Either way, progress has slowed down for me considerably as of late. As I got some new planes in every line-up I play (German, British, American), I'm sffering from stock syndrom a lot - makes the grind a lot slower, regardless of whether I play RB or AB. The only line-up that's fully competitive is my Russian BR 4.0 stuff... Which owns, big time. But for the others... I hate flying stock planes

Try the events as this avoids that issue. I mostly just play the RB events now.

Uh huh.. Tell that to my B24 that keeps facing Ki200's, 262's, RY's, 229's...

I didn't expect the controls for planes to change between arcade and simulator. Especially since it's all set up the same....

Couldn't even get the plane off the ground. First attempt resulted in me spinning in circles, the second attempt resulted in crashing because I couldn't get the plane to takeoff. :ouch:

That is random battles. Check the events tab. Currently for RB it is the Korsun campaign. 10am gmt it will change.

And today is apparently the day when in almost every match, a teammate tries to kill me..

I was in a bomber at the time. Waited too long to pull out of the dive.
Well, you can't do the same "pivot-turns" in your PBY or Wellington in RB... :P

Speaking of the PBY, don't exceed 250kph. It locks up then you can't pull up out of the "dive" (*ahem* 10 degrees *ahem*)...

Don't worry, simulator is for the big boys.
If you do want to try without a joystick, use "mouse joystick", where you move your mouse around a circle to imitate the position of a joystick, i.e. down to pitch up, right to roll right. Don't use the keyboard.

Now try a carrier take-off or landing ;) I've not done it in WT yet, but BoS was...interesting on simulator.

I've managed to land couple times on carrier without shearing my tail or wings off. Would've succeeded more often if there weren't some geniuses raiding the carrier fleet..

Mouse joystick is what I use since it's the default on PS4.

Hmm.. I think I will try and master PBJ.. It seems to have potential.

I don't even think I've seen a carrier to land on in all my sessions.
There are carriers on some US & GB vs Japan maps of RB and SB (Midway, Guadalcanal, etc). If you entered on a carrier-based plane (Hellcat, Wildcat, A6M, B5N2, etc), you'll start on a carrier. On these maps, you can win by destroying the enemy carriers. This is where bombers can be really useful in RB.

Try the tutorial for Simulator mode, and learn to take off and land in the Test Flight (or however it's called in the English version).
In Test Flights on American and Japanese planes, there are also carriers where you can try landing and taking off from.

Cool, I'll look into those. I guess I haven't seen any carriers because I've been flying German planes mostly.

I guess I've had no trouble taking off in lower modes due to the "instructor" doing most of the work for me. I'll try to get more time in with the game in the next few days but I see The Crew taking most of my time on PS4. Also need to see if Mouse Joystick controls will stay on in Simulator as well. It works well with the DS4 when I don't bump the touchpad, but for some reason, it switches to full controls mode for simulator. Not sure why...

I guess it would be a good idea to start with a smaller plane in test flight on simulator instead of something like the Bf 110 that I was attempting.

Should be must easier on PS4 then... :p I envy you and your Dualshock...

Try the Spitfire Mk Ia. Very good for beginning SB.

Don't use biplanes as they are pretty unpredictable. Basically early monoplane prop fighters.

Its flight model hasn't been finished yet, it's meant to handle better than the B-25. Also, the "anti-shipping" cannon hasn't been properly implemented. But it's loads of fun as a bomber hunter! :D

I'm slightly irked. Historically, Ju-88 heavy divebombers could carry 2 1000kg bombs, not only 2 500kg and 20 50kg ones..
