Edit: And challenges be damned. I'm not gonna waste any more repair money just to get some crummy tier I glass cannons.

According the War Thunder forums it has 105mm howitzer, not the 76 from the Sherman.

Edit: NVM. I did read somewhere that it was meant to have the 105mm howitzer..

Hey fellas. Been playing WT for a long while now and lurking this thread for a few months. I got a Saitek 52x for Xmas and am looking to finally get into the realistic battles. Is this where most of you guys fly? Any of you guys squad up? Looking for some flight partners.
 
Well I don't do flying so someone else could help you with that. If you get into ground forces however @Leonidae@MFT and myself do play somewhat often (we're not the best by anyone's imagination, but we get the job done-ish).
 
I'm definitely not MLG, though do pretty good mousing arcade. Still getting use to the stick, definitely requires a more refined skill set.
 
Now that I have a stick I'll be getting into RBs. I've done a few year flights and AB. Mousers have way to much of an advantage there though.
 
I do play RB's mostly in the airplanes, and arcade on tanks because otherwise the matchmaking and moving across the map takes freaking forever :p Also, I use kb and mouse mostly due to not having a proper stick at my disposal..

yeah, I was supposed to live stream a SNAIL event tonight. I don't get groups like lizardcrap, or whatever their name is. Its one thing to risk yourself for a cause like anonymous does, but to do something just for kicks, and hurt two of the largest gaming communities... whats the point in that? You're not sticking it to the man, you're sticking it to your little brother. Some people just wanna see the world burn I guess.

Welcome to the internet. These things just happen. I do wonder why they didn't target Nintendo. But that's for another day.

Anyway I played my Tier 3 Russians today and got completely destroyed. First game had Tiger IIs, T-44s, the whole lot. The 2nd game I just gave up. Maybe it's an off day or the gods of War Thunder rofl-stomping the X-Mas noobs. Either way I'm gonna stop playing for a few days.
 
It can be so frustrating when you're doing well, picking off enemies from a vantage point, and your team still fails to capture the point, even though there is maybe 1 tank left watching it.
Would have been nice to get the 5x bonus for this one.

The x5 bonus has been really, really helpful in getting new a new plane. Almost done with both the Me 163 and the F2H-2 Banshee 👍

Looking forward to my first jet matches. Gotta say, though, I'm a bit nervious about flying a jet for the first time :nervous:
 
Right... one shot hits my tank. No visible damage and it's still perfectly intact. So how the hell did I get killed? Coincidentally watched a Magz video recently where the same thing happened to him, but I can't find any shell holes on my tank....

Probably penetrated right through and killed the crew? Only thing I could possibly think of :confused:
 
When I was giving one of my tier 1 tanks a testrun I tried damaging a heavy tank.
I noticed that when I hit it just above the tracks from one direction, it would sometimes penetrate and ricochet in multiple directions. Didn't have enough force left to really do damage on the inside, even though it hit a couple of crew members.
But the shell hole was barely visible in that location.
With a stronger tank I could see a 1 shot kill without visible damage happen.
 
Was an M2A4 that took my BT-7 out, so two tier 1 light tanks. Didn't hear the shot hit, just the message of "Tank Destroyed". Usually, I've noticed, if the crew is knocked out, the message is something like "Non-combat operational".
 
Did you save the replay so that you can put the file on dropbox or something?
 
Indeed it is. Hitting a bomber 3 times with a tank and it still won't crash is slightly frustrating though :p

It's enough to hit them with the tanks machinegun most of the time though. When they crash on purpose, you still get the kill.
