Very. Especially when "Go To Battle" is right there in the middle of the top bar.

Still, I lack some confidence when shooting in planes. Played tanks for too long recently. Did pick up some lucky kills tonight though.

Speaking of confidence, I always have a hard time venturing into RBs with a new plane. I always feel like I need to familiarize myself with it in AB and grind some modules first

To do list for War Thunder today (if I get to play... the real life to do list has some stuff on it as well...): Check the events, then boldly go where my jet hasn't gone before: RB.

Well in order to enter the Pearl Harbour Event, I need to do a tutorial on taking off in Simulation Battles. I can't for the life of me get off the runway.

Every time I get a little air, the plane tilts to the right, clipping the wing and spiraling out of control.

I do EVERYTHING the instructions tell me to do but still, I crash.

:grumpy:

You're forcing the plane off the ground. I was doing that in the beginning as well. Let it lift naturally before you start to force it into the air off the ground.

I let it lift, however as soon as the plane gets a little air, the instructions tell me to push up on the left analog stick (I fly inverted). Now I want to pull back on the stick, not push up. It won't let me until I do, which cause my plane to dip and eat dirt.

I know what the problem is. Not sure if it's like this on PC, but on PS4, each level of realism doesn't carry the same control settings until you set them to be. So, load up a simulation test flight and get your controls the way you want them before doing anything else while sitting on the runway. That's the reason I use full control for every mode now.

Want to annoy Zero/Hayabusa pilots? Get a Spit Mk1/MkII and utilize landing flaps to out-turn them and watch their helpless rage in the chat..
We have flaps as well you know. I realised in duels most don't use them though. I really laughed when people were confused how I out turned them in the same plane. The you hacker messages came flying.

Had a flight earlier where I was chasing a BF109 at treetop level in my F2A3. Didn't get the kill because I ran out of ammo due to having taken out 6 ground targets prior to that. That and my aiming is so bad I couldn't register any critical hits on it. Then it was just me an a spitfire and we encountered a squad of Stukas. I guess communication helps a ton in the game because they destroyed us.

First flight in the F4F-3. :D

I was sweating bullets.. Because:

I swear, these tier IV matches will kill me.. Either through heart attack from tension or popping a vein in my head in a fit of rage.. But I staid airborne somehow and we won the match.

Just the worst feeling when you get shot down, and as you hit the ground, the game throws up an error and boots you back to the PS4's menu. I had a kill in that match as well.. it should have finished off the last modification for the F4F-3 as well.

I actually found those instructions damn hard to follow and more than a little contrary to each other in places after finding them a while ago. It became a bit irritating for me as I had a reasonable setup for the game, but after one of the updates, everything seemed to change - so I tried that user's suggestions.

Now, I know I don't play WT as often as I used to and lengthy stretches of time have elapsed between going back on, but I lost all interest after that happened. For some reason, it's gone right back to not allowing the same controller functions to cover two purposes (ie: one for tank and the other for aircraft) whilst it will allow the same buttons to be used for replay controls...

Gaijin always have had weird control systems in their past games on the consoles, but this just got too much for me. I have BoS which is essentially the same game, so I shall have to be content with that, I think. A shame really, as I quite enjoyed the tanks.

Must be my best game yet with the US tanks :p
A couple of artillery kills, but most with direct fire.
Used bomber option once, but only managed to damage enemy tanks.

After owning the J2M for over a week I finally got my first kill in the damn thing :irked:. From now on, all my tier 4's shall be used in arcade only.. except the F8F 1B which I love even in RB.

Wait for the events for tier 4 then you don't have to deal with jets.

Had two planes chasing me and trying to shoot me down.... they crashed into each other.
Gotta love those moments

I've got a new-found love for arcade battles. They're surprisingly fun with a line-up that consists of high-end prop planes and low-end jets. Well, one low-end jet, the F2H-2 Banshee. Got about a third of the progression for the F9F-2, as well. Don't know why, but the instant action and all encompassing chaos of AB sits really well with me at the moment.
