No. Don't even think about custom battles. Unless you have some friends and want to something stupid (i.e Flak vs Biplanes, 20 Tier 1s vs 1 Tier 5).

By the way I'm on right now.

EDIT: Well I give up on WT for the time being. Connection issues and not loading into games are really pissing me off.

Nope because it is classed as a heavy bomber in the same class as the IL28 and B57. You can drop it as soon as you start if you want to purely use it as a fighter though. I usually go and bomb their airfield and then become a fighter.

It is really agile for a jet as well.

Haven't flown it yet as I just got it after the last match we just played. Heard it's the same as the other Gladiator in the game.

Welp, that sounds like it hasn't changed much...

It was a weird session we had today. Dur couldn't connect for crap, and we three spend our time getting our rear ends kicked. Also, god damm Spitfires.

You weren't the only one man, I can tell you that much. My only times of greatness were when I was in control of the Lagg, and even then I had my butt kicked by other pilots...

Yep, when everybody is all over the place, it's hard to do anything at all. Especially when you're surrounded.
 
I wasn't doing that great in arcade either... until I focused on ground targets.

One of the matches, my P-36A had the tail controls broken so I was flying around using throttle, ailerons and combat flaps all while having 3-4 enemies on my tail that couldn't shoot very well. :lol:

I didn't have a problem with spitfires. It was the guys that would camp the spawn that I had issues with.

I rarely had those sort of issues. Mostly because I ran far away from spawn points before anyone could do anything there. Of course, that didn't stop me from getting shot down by dudes in Spitfires. Mk Is, Mk IIs, you name it...

That's what I do. The only problem is that if you have a bad day you can loose a lot of lions because you won't be able to compensate for repair cost. But it depends on what tier you are flying, tier 4 repair bills are a pain in the 🤬!

Also has anybody played the hockey event for today? I'm not sure what to think of it except for the fact that the matchmaking is very bad. Jets in tier 3/4 matches are a pain also!

So I think my connection issues have subsided (for now). Played a game in planes and got a kill somehow. I also captured a base but that was about it.

I'm not that far off. I don't really focus my research though. I have 1 of each research branch at any given time.
Right now I believe I'm using:
P-36a Hawk
F2A-3
Thach's F2A
OS2U
PBY-5 Catalina

Needless to say that it takes me forever to progress to higher tiers. Took me around 6 months to make it to tier 4 Britain. I suppose I play under the ancient guidelines of Pokemon, Gotta catch them all!!!
 
Another quick session of arcade battles brought some interesting moments. After a couple of lackluster battles, Stalingrad brought some much needeed sucess:

All my kills belonged to the Hurricane, which did a good job as a fighter plane and as a ground killer. I also had my very first night battle, which went as well as you'd expect:

Yes, 13 ground targets. And not only that, they were all done IN A ROW! You know that feeling when you are just "In the zone"? This was the case for me, I just kept shooting down ground targets until my demise. Insane... :crazy:
 
Nothing really notable from me today. Got the victories for each nation. Finished research on the Yak-7. Got rammed into a few times by morons... one of which didn't even bother firing his guns at me. Made a mistake of my own by being too low as I bombed out a light tank.

F6F Hellcat is a good plane. Have one kill with it by shooting a Yak pilot. Happened in a pretty interesting sequence. The Yak got on the tail of the person I was squaded with for that game. The Yak shot him down, I shot the Yak down, then a Russian P-47 got me, and the P-47 was avenged by another teammate in a P-47.
