Weather Tracks Unlock

When I go into 2P mode I see several weather tracks crossed / locked out from use. What do I need to do in order to unlock the weather tracks for 2 player arcade mode?

I have wondered this too, i am now starting to think that this is not available in split screen mode, gutted though if that is the case.

I have the same problem but I really did it one time with my friend.
And now there is a red line through it. I can't do it anymore.

I have been wanting to try the nurbergring night/rain track in practice, but about half way around the track its day and stopped raining. Time rolls so quick on it, all i want to do is see a night run replay.
