I wish I could enjoy all the cars and trucks of GT, but I just can't. The medivac van? The Jimny? Sambabus? There are several more. It actually angers me that GT requires the use of such cars for certain races. Just give me my damn Elise back and allow me to use it in every race, lowering the PP to under 50 less than any competition and I'll still win every race and have a great handling car too! So much grrr.
That's often a discussion within the GT community. I've not been a GT user from the start, but from what I've read GT has always been not only about race cars but also about several "special", or sometimes even "weird", car choices. So those trucks, pick-ups etc. are nothing new at all.

Personally I like those special cars, especially when tuned to their limits or engine swapped. It's a very playful feature, and maybe one reason some call GT rather simcade than pure simulation.

I don't think anyone enjoys EVERY vehicle in GT. The oddball vehicles that have been added since launch(such as the MediAce, Unimog, etc.) are and have proved to be more enjoyable by the majority of players. They got people talking about a now 3+ year old game. I'm glad that I am required to use certain vehicles for races. It adds variety, and who knows, maybe even find a hidden gem that you love.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all wish for Lotus as a whole to come back, but it hasnt happened yet, for reasons only known to Polyphony. If you want a game that lets you use the same car for every race, try Forza Horizon, you can do beat it in a single car. That has never been the focus of GT.

And the same Ferrari challenge from last week
The Ferrari Challenge wasn't in last week's Weekly Challenges (May Week 3); it was American FR, Nissan GT-R, Kei Cup, WTC800 and the Corvette one-make.

After an update, any new races added will appear in the WC between the update and the next one. We had Lightweight Kei Cup (Eiger) added and that came in May Week 3. Ferrari Circuit Challenge (Deep Forest) will be in May Week 4, and the last one will be American Clubman Cup 700 at some point before the next update - probably the end of June.

I prefer 6* car tickets, 800.000 plus races around 1 mill.

I hope one day the reward with the invites

Just an hour with our swap Jag in Lemans 1,6 mill

Last 3x6* tickets ( 2 from weeklies and one from marathon) reward me with gt3 cars with the lowest selling price of them being 139K .
Invites can't be as reward for weeklies ,is way unfair and they aren't such a rewards anyway ( i mean only invitation tickets).

Hopefully i quit grinding long time ago , i collect credits from weekly races ,TT's ( mostly silver ones ) and by repeating some weekly races if i like them.
The era of 3 Lemans per day passed for good and i only do it if a car move my interest .
And some times i do only the first 3 laps to check a cars behaviour and fuel consumption at the dry.

Correct!!! I got it wrong, I’m mixing the update and the weekly challenges because i did everything on Friday.

I've been with GT from the very beginning, and I've hated all of those vehicles from the start. We had to use base cars with no power, cars you could run faster than, over and over and over to get enough money to buy a decent car because wasting the money on the base car never got you what you wanted. Pure hate.

Proved to be more enjoyable for the majority of players? You'd have to show me the statistics on that before I'd believe it. I consider it heavy handed by PD, just like all the other things they force on us (and the list is LONG). In short, it's their game, so they force us to play it their way. Forza physics are a joke IMO, no way I'd lower myself to that game, but it's pretty to look at for sure, and some of the features are fantastic.

You pick a strange franchise to stick around then. Masochism?

Here's some hope I made an interesting and enjoyable car selection for the upcoming races. Will use ...

Daytona : swapped Ford Roadster ( 599 PP )
Goodwood : swapped Citroen Pallas ( 579 PP )
Eiger : Renault KATZ Kangoo ( 380 PP )
Deep Forest : Ferrari Dino ( 599 PP )
Autopolis : swapped Lexus LC500 ( 690 PP )

The Pallas and the LC500 will be quasi first time drives, looking forward to it.

If last week's Lightweight K Cup is anything to go by, I'm just gonna send it.

using the Fairlady z34 ' 08 with engine swap for the Autopolis race, 512 BB '76 for the Ferrari race, 205 GTI '88 for the car masters, and the ford GT '17 for the American race

Decent week, but not the most exciting combos. Daytona just requires a car that'll do 49 second laps or faster, as long as you can do over 300 km/h you'll win pretty easily. Kangoo one make was the same as the others, can't use a stock car and I only have a full tuned one so it was very easy, fun to drive though. Goodwood is fun if you try to use a historic car, either road or race, AI struggles with a few corners so you can probably pick something not that fast. Ferrari Challenge I used the 812 and switched to SH, made it a decent challenge and required a bit more effort to drive, AI can be annoying in the other 812 because it's quick out the corners but has no idea how to go through them. WTC 700 I ended up doing a few times as the AI seemed very inconsistent and I wanted to see if I could get it to rain. With my Golf I managed to win in a race that got really wet on the last lap so everyone was still on slicks, thankfully the AI struggled even more so I just pulled further away. I ended up running the low RPM turbo so you have max power at 5500 RPM, can easily run map 1 and pit at half distance. Tried a few more times and a few other cars where I didn't get rain and the AI could be over 30 seconds quicker or slower seemingly at random. Maybe if you're struggling and don't want to change car just restart a few times and see.

Cars for the week:
