Maybe more traffic races.

The Valkyrie isn't super fast, not on easy or medium level, but the track is very difficult for some of us because it is hard to learn and it is totally different than any track from GT3-GT6.
Well, compared to the entire rest of the grid it is. I do not have any troubles with the track and like it very much, but the Valkyrie totally ruins that race because it's so much faster than any other AI bot. Sure, use a car with enough PP and you will beat it without any issues - but that's not really what I consider "fun and challenge".

Civics at Tokyo again? I mean sure it's a different setting but come on PD, there are other tracks where I'd like to race a one make. So MANY to choose from, hello.

I mean... it's not that much of a surprise that they'd be doing Japanese car-based, street racing-style events with traffic on the Tokyo courses, surely? They're the only city highway courses in the game and it replicates a specific subculture. It'd look odd at Willow Springs.

Tokyo is my favorite site in GT7, all layouts - I wish the game would contain more city courses. So for me it's a fun to see PD bring them regularly into the Weeklies. Also, the special events are almost always fun because these are "new" events that don't existed in the game, and the opponents have more variations than in the one-make custom races.

PD is really going hard on Tokyo South lately.
People keep saying PD are worried about Forza. Uh uh, PD are worried about Tokyo Extreme Racer. ;)

Had nice fun with the races.

- Tundra 3UZ for Daytona

- ADAC GT CUP 200SX

- K24 CTR TC: Funny, I nearly forgot where I was going towards the end of the lap. Haven’t raced there at night in a good while.

- Couldn’t get far enough ahead in my ADAC GT Cup spec E36(261 BHP/1138 kg/240km/h) Scary closing speed. Shook my head as it passed.

- Finished with the RB25 at Trial Mountain

Edit:
Daily 4*= 500,000 gold bricks
Weekly 6*= 1,000,000 gold bricks

Pretty fun week with some unique races. Daytona is the weak one, although it can be pretty close in a stock truck. Silvia Sisters requires some decent straight line speed, love that Tokyo layout though. Civic race was also on a really good track and it has a really nice time of day change with a cloudy sunrise on the last lap. I feel like the traffic was quicker than the previous one, AI was quicker too because I couldn't win in a stock FK2. Switched to the RCR Civic which was too quick but entertaining to drive. Clubman Cup has Gallo and the Rocketdyne powered Alfa, although there's a few other cars that can be reasonably fast he'll still be 40+ seconds ahead of them. Under 15 minutes total time is what you need to aim for, XJ220 on CS was fantastic to drive and reasonably easy to win with. Didn't get any rain, seems rare but it can rain quite hard, also watch for Gallo's starting position as it can change the difficulty of the race dramatically. WTC 900 is a little odd because the AI is terrible in the first sector and doesn't change tyres so after the pit stop they're like 2-3 seconds a lap slower than before. Went Gr.2 with the '08 GT-R but it didn't seem fast enough, switched to the '16 NSX and won by over 20 seconds. Maybe with a clean race or one of the other 2008 cars you could win it. I really like the Gr.2 cars, some of the most fun in the game and I really wish they'd add the 2024 GT500 cars, maybe the missing DTM cars too.

Cars this week:

Is it only me or are both the WTC 900 and the Gr. 1 Prototype events unequally more difficult than the WTC 600 / 700 / 800 races?

Usually I like to play in the given category, but when it comes to WTC 900 or Gr. 1 I almost always find myself using driving different categories such as Super Formula or Tomahawk because otherwise I couldn't win.

For example, my Audi R18 Gr.1 is always not fast enough for Gr.1 races, so are all neoclassic Gr. 2 cars. The AI uses those, but they are much faster than when the AI uses e.g. Gr. 4 cars in WTC 700 or Gr. 3 cars in WTC 800.

I got a 2nd 🥉 with the RCF GT500 stock just a couple seconds behind of the NSX GT500 due to my bad driving.

Hard mode.

I will try again later with de RS5 DTM

But WTC900 it’s chaotic on IA with gr3 cars also racing faster than gr2

I guess with a gr1 it would be easy for example like a Veyron gr1 full on downforce.

1. For pickup I used the Raptor. It's a pretty unremarkable race.
2. For silvia sisters, I used, well, a Silvia. It was fairly fun.
3. For Civic One Make, I used a tuned EK3 civic. Not much to note.
4. For the European Clubman Cup, I used my Mito Faux LM. It was great in the corners, but lacked in the straights, making for an intense battle between me and the Giulia GTAm
5. Finally, I used the 908 HDI FAP for trial mountain. I lost control on lap 5 or so (Tip: Don't cut the turn two corner) - but managed to recover, going into the pits on lap 7, I probably could have done it without stops, but I decided to go in, just in case.

Varies on the track but there's a way larger performance delta within Gr.1 and Gr.2 than the lower classes from what I've found. Just from running Trial Mountain this week I found that the 2016 GT500 cars are 3+ seconds a lap faster than the 2008 cars on the same tyres, Gr.1 has a similar problem if you compare the '11 R18 against the LM55 Gr.1, multiple seconds a lap between those. Gr.3/Gr.4 are much closer to modified road car levels of downforce too which makes it much easier to use a wide range of cars outside of those categories, you're nowhere near as reliant on corner speed for laptime. WTC events tend to have tuned cars too, you'll see that with WTC 900, the Gr.3 cars are extremely fast on the straights compared to normal, even WTC 700 can have this issue where if you drive a stock Gr.4 car the AI in the same car will have better straight line speed.

Left the two last races for late noon and try first trial mountain, use very carefully my LM 55 to grab the CRB buy exiting the pota i went straight on the wall 🤬🤬 .

Green hell follows with a detune GTam 20 from some previous race with Titans on RH tyres around 657pp .
Very careful driving that brought me 24 sec behind Gallo after first lap but i very light touch somewhere cost me the CRB again 🤬🤬 .

So i put her RM tyres , try it again , put out every AI that was in my way and pass Gallo after first carrusel in first lap and , collect the credits and felt no regret about it .
Perhaps ill do it again for daily bonus reasons.

The 6* at last brought 500k which is far better than some gr3 cars that gave me in the past 3 times in a row.

Pickup Truck Race: Toyota Tundra TRD Pro. Switched to Sports Softs and stretched the gearing, easy win with no draft required. How I wish this had RM to make it a NASCAR Truck

Silvia Sisters: Nissan Silvia Aero Spec R. as usual, outwitting the Horsepower fiends with superior Handling. Easy basically (Especially when the chicane is involved)

European Clubman Cup 600: Mercedes AMG GT-R. My GT4 build that despite being quite down on power compared to Gallo's Alfa, destroys it everywhere else. Dangerous but fun.

World Touring Car 900: Lexus RC F GT500. First time for it in one of these races and I was in the zone with it. The Power bump makes is slightly more slidey but still fun.

Honda Civic One-Make: For the last time, rocking the Gathers livery and having an easy time. Had a jumpscare going wide open and getting around the Prius but otherwise easy.

Decent week.
WTC900: I last raced this a couple of years ago so I don't remember what car I used but it could have been a Red Bull car. Anyway decided to use the Lexus. So close and yet so far. Inostroza had a 30+ lead at the start. Got it down to 1.6 at the line for 2nd.

Nordschleife was in my Wright Motorsports 992. Mostly stock but with RS. Valerio was no match. Over a minute gap.

For the Civic race I picked my swapped EF o RS. Won by over 5 seconds.

The boring Daytona race was over even before the 1st lap ended,in my Ford on RS.

Did you do any fuel saving? Also, what tires where you on?

Very easy gold with the Audi RS5 turbo stock not using DRS (my thumb gets numb)

No fuel saving. FM1 all the way. Pitted after 6 for fuel. On RH.
You did that with no Lift & coast or Short-shifting?

As for tires, that's interesting. I always find the Mediums to be actually the most ideal for these races as in my testing, I found them too short for Hards and too long for Softs (On average, they don't last past 4 laps on the first stint)
