My favorite American car for the American event.

964 "Turbo S" took care of its homegrown opposition.

Got gold on this. Rather easy, but teaches a good lesson on how Racing Softs do not solve all handling problems.

An R35 GT-R cannibalizing its kaiju brethren.

Thrustmaster's new recommended settings for the T598 did not work for me, personally. So I did some adjustments.

Same strategy as before. But massively improved times. Will try to see if the LM55 VGT (or the wonder EV Hyundai VGT) can touch this.

All on Hard difficulty.

Forgot to post this but early testing prior to the events being available only cemented the Toyota GR010 being the clear choice for this race. No need for conservation, just push as hard as possible until lap 12 (Just to go from worn Mediums to softs) and its as simple as that.

They have a bit more power than some of the prototypes, and I think a slightly better fuel efficiency (at least the Mazda does).
Most of the Group C cars in GT7 if not all definitively have better fuel efficiency than most of the other Gr.1 car / the prototypes. I would even say not only slightly but significantly. IIRC the Mazda has the best, but Porsche and Mercedes are also great.

The reason why I still mostly don't use them in the Gr.1 races is that I never win with them, I think they are slower than most of the prototypes when human players drive them. This is not true for the AI, though - AI-driven Group C's are pretty fast for some reason.

American Sunday Cup 600: Chevy Camaro ZL1. The GT4 tune is back and doing its thing.
European Clubman Cup 600: Mercedes AMG GT R. Another GT4 build back in the fold, feels like its kinda smoother somehow.
Nissan GT-R Cup: Nissan GT-R NISMO. Final time its used as I'll make a new dedicated build with the 2024 car, but this still was good.
Gr.1 Prototype Series: Toyota GR010 Hybrid. As always, can push for a while without worrying without fuel.
Time Trial: Easy (Once you realize those Racing Softs AREN'T gonna bail you out if you get it wrong)

An easy week, until it wasn't (hard difficulty)...

Road Atlanta - Ford GT40 Mark I '66 - I upgraded the tires to SS, which put is just under the recommended 600PP. Easy win.

Alsace - Ferrari Testarossa '91 - Upgraded the tires to SS, and added a bunch of sports-level enhancements. That took the PP just over the 600PP suggestion. Another easy win.

Brands Hatch - Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R '97 - This was just too easy. I put in a gold time on my first try.

Deep Forest - Nissan R32 GR-R NISMO '90 - I upgraded the tires to SS, and added all of the sports-level enhancements, plus a mid-RPM turbo. It took me a couple of aborted attempts to figure out my brake markers, but I once I did, it was an easy win.

Yas Marina - Nissan R92CP '92 - Maybe this isn't the car for this track, or maybe I'm just not the driver for it. I tried a no-stop on RMs, but could only muster a P7 finish, some 40+ seconds behind the winner. Not sure if I want to try a different car or lower the difficulty level to normal. I'll definitely be going back and trying again, though.

And now I'm done...

Yas Marina - Nissan R92CP '92 - I tried again in the Nissan after lowering the difficulty level to Normal. Finished P2 on a no-stop RM strategy. Good enough for the final ticket.

Benchmark lap times for AI on Hard difficulty are at 1:45-1:46.

As long as you touch under 1:40, you'll be golden. Fuel is no issue, but you will really have to swap tires.

Quite an easy race, truth be told. The 800 pp one is much harder, IMO

The Group Cs at Daytona are a nightmare to deal with.

Their speed and efficiency are artificial, again to give this impression of difficulty. You know, PD logic.

My weekly races...
I didn't take any photo for the time trial and was slightly disappointed that it was for two sectors (read @Famine article after I did it...) and not the full lap.
Now for the remaining races from right side to left...
Gr.1 Prototypes at Yas Marina.
The Mazda LM-55 did an outstanding race on RM tyres at FM6 for a steady race pace for me and blew the CRB on track limit violations.

Nissan GT-R at Deep Forest.
Hopped in the new Mines car with only SS tyres added and was a clean race with a CRB too.

Euro Clubman Cup at Alsace.
Had used this Alfa 8C in the COTW lobby races Tuesday night and tuned it up and gave it SS tyres and had fun and passed the Merc on last half of last lap.

Americans at Road Atlanta.
I used my copy of Jacky Ikyx's 1969 Le Mans winning GT40 and had a great time of it. The GT40 was tuned without a supercharger and had SS tyres also.

Saving all tickets for the end of the holiday ticket party.

Pretty straightforward week.
The FTO TT was easy. One try and Golded it. I even got caught off guard on the first turn thinking I had lots of grip and almost lost it. lol No pic because it's not my car anyway.
Gr.1 at Yas was also easy in the Mazda VGT. No stop on RH. It was over by lap 8 and won by over 50 seconds.
GTR was in my Kaido House 400R. Won by around 10 seconds.
Euro Clubman in a detuned Lancia Delta to keep it at exactly 600. Won by a handful.
American in a car I rarely drive and under 600 (596pp). Easy win by around 9 seconds.
