Wound up going a direction, that I had not planned on.

The Prius was making a charge. .156 difference at the line.

Really didn't have enough for this one, but a block, helped hold them off.

At this point, I'm thinking I need to run vans all the way, just to see if I can.

Had to run the Nurb race twice. The green Merc spun me out, just before the long straight. 2nd race was better, even managed to get the CRB. The VW was a little spicy, with the 911 swap, and SS tires.

The Espace was a killer at Sardegna.

Too bad we don't have a FTO van. lol

I would guess either their pace is very variable or there's just a slow field that would enable it. I only ran with my tuned FTO which has 100 hp more than stock and the AI still pulled away on the straights so most of the time was made up in the last sector.
I feel like it’s got extreme rubber banding at play.
My first try I think AI fastest la was 2:20 after lap1, redoing it now and it’s 2:17 so I think it also depends of who has spawned in what position for the start that affects the pace

Well, I can say the Sardegna race is adjusted for the Weekly casuals. Three races I’m using the F3500B grinding machine and I’m passing the Viper end of Lap2 and 16-20 seconds ahead by the time it pits for Lap 5. Regular grinding, I’m passing it on Lap 3 and usually 10 seconds ahead when it pits.
I’m lapping the whole field by Lap 9 and 10 when I’m usually lapping the field by Lap 12.

I haven’t taken note if the AI programming is changed for similar races.

So the Special Race in the FTO is an interesting one when using a stock FTO. It has the lap time speed but getting through the traffic to keep the pace needed to get to the front requires more luck than skill I think.

After numerous attempts the last two days I tried upgrading the tires tires to Sports Hard. That alone gained me 2-3s per lap and enough to get over the line in 1st with a CRB.

It still wasn't easy. But I loved every minute of it.

As @km666 already pointed out above, a very fun set of races this time. And an easy one as well, ok, due to my car choice of course. I've been competitive almost everywhere right from the start, at HSR and Autopolis my cars needed upgrades to match the very fast Silvia, 300ZX and the two frontrunner FTOs. Not a big thing though.
Now what happens when each and every car of your selection is yellow ? You get a clean sweep of wins accompanied by five photos with a yellowish greenish tint. :D

The Fraga AI is programmed to rubberband. Portilla's Viper is a mere distraction as it can only go fast on the straight. Fraga's Supra can do 1:38s on Hard difficulty as it runs on Soft tires. It has been like that since a major physics patch in 2024. Try running an actual Gr.3 car on that race on Hard, and you will notice how difficult the race is. Sometimes, Fraga rockets away if it gets behind Portilla until the Viper pits on Lap 4.

Even if it's not a featured Weekly Challenge race, it's the same programming.

I guess I haven't done this race since then, so just a quick question: Is a no stopper on Group C possible on hard mode? I guess fuel and tires shouldn't be a problem but not sure about the pace (and rubber banding) of AI. Pitstops take less time here than on LM IIRC.
Possible, but the Viper can run away should you try to catch it on the straight. Cornering won't be an issue, though.

Haven't done weeklies for quite some time, so I felt like jumping back in. As usual on hard mode and honoring PP suggestions.

Sunday Cup @ BB Raceway
Used a stock RAV4, easy win
1000028060.webp

Japanese FR Challenge @ Highspeed Ring
Chose a beautiful Lady for this. Brought me up the field real quick but the Silvia was surprisingly fast, so I just took 2nd place here.
1000028061.webp

Schwarzwald League @ Nordschleife
I've already done this race with all the obvious cars, so I was looking for fun here. Took my 300SL race build and put it on Inters, resulting in 633PP. There was almost no rain, but the car was incredibly fun to drive! Took P1 at Pflanzgarten and won comfortably with a lead of 6 seconds.
1000028064.webp

FTO Special @ Autopolis
There's always one problem with those one makes: You just have no idea what you're up against. And since I only have a stock FTO and a swapped one and I'm not the biggest fan of the track (to say it nicely), I took no chances. The car doesn't seem to like the track either. I've only driven it on Le Mans so far, and it feels really good there (for a FWD) but on Autopolis it feels awful, just doesn't want to go around all those slow corners.
Well, at least it's a real Beauty!
1000028065.webp

WTC800 @ Sardegna
Ngl, I don't like the 800 and 900 events and high downforce cars. Just driving them is ok but moving through traffic is just no fun for me. I guess I just lack the skills and reaction times for this. Tried the 787B but it felt like I had to fight it at every corner. So I went back to my usual choice for those races, the good old Mazda LM55. FM6 non stop, won by 56 seconds, which is probably pretty slow. I just suck at this, but I don't really care😄
1000028067.webp

I was expecting any VGT from the car ticket, since that's what I usually get. But this time I was lucky🙂

I did the Special Event at Autopolis another two times to confirm that it is indeed bugged - and to see whether or not it would pay out another Credit Ticket if it was completed again after being cleared by the bug... alas it does not

I must be one of the few fans of Autopolis here - I really enjoy it, and particularly like the last sector - it just seems to flow nicely, so it has not been too much of a chore to explore what was going on with this Special Event.

That’s what I thought I was in for when I ran the Lancer(stock power on RM) this week. That wasn’t the case. Sometimes the R8 is a problem at Sardegna(and Spa), as it was in this particular race.

I got a decent 2nd place, but still 13s behind Fraga - that said, I got Fastest Lap (1:38.9xx) on RMs, and also got the Clean Race Bonus, which was kind of a surprise. I reckon I could give Fraga a run for his money on RSs, but not sure I would make RSs last for 5 laps.

What I used, once again going to the furthest cars down the list on last used, other than the Ferrari :sly:
I don't think I have won with the Toyota S-FR or Honda Civic before, and I had not with the Mitsubishi FTO as it is engine swapped.1518075[/ATTACH]

If you do want to run a stock Gr. 3 on RS in the Sardegna race, you have a few options.

- McLaren F1 GTR can do it, because it is light and that alone can be good on tires and fuel. Only catch is, that you have to tune it properly to be competitive.

- BRZ is, up to this day, one of the most OP Gr.3s in stock. Can also run on Softs due to its weight.

Anything lower than 2700 lbs can be a good basis.

The rest, you have to make do with Mediums; or at the final pit stop, you switch on Softs.

- No turbo kit installed.

- Fuel Map 1, started on Softs. Had to rev limit to 8.5k rpm and done some coasting because of having to deal with idiotic AI. This gave me an extra lap of fuel. Pit in at lap 6.

- Got a fresh batch of Softs, then drove like I'm in qualifying. Pit in at Lap 11 for a splash and dash with new Softs.

Can do 1:37s if it weren't for having to lap the clueless AI.

And a neat little bonus...

Mostly a festival of the unexceptional this week but that's what I enjoy about this game.

Stock S660 for the Sunday Cup. Easy enough but I think this is literally the first race in the entire game so hardly expected anything else. Lovely little car.

Wasn't sure what to pick for High Speed Ring as this is also quite a boring and short event.
A friend recommended the V12 Huayra swap on the Crown, with the power and ECU both set to 70, so I figured I'd build one and use it here. It comes in about 100pp over limit but as it's an easy event anyway it ended up being a decent testing ground for the car. It handles the engine amazingly, I really recommend it.
1000091119.webp

FTO event has some crazy rubber banding. I tried 3 different tunes from stock to 550pp and the AI were just as competitive in all of them. It's kind of impressive.
I love Autopolis so really enjoyed this one.
1000091122.webp

Pouring rain for the Nurb, which was fun. Used an existing 550pp Scirocco tune I have, the AI suck both in the wet and at the Nords so it was pretty light work.
Couple of them caught back up on the straight but broke about 300 metres before me into the last corners and graciously handed me back the win.

I love the Scirocco in this colour - saw a real one wrapped in similar a few years ago and copied it as soon as I could get on the game. Very pretty car.

V12 Tuscan swap for Sardegna, using an existing 750pp build I had.
Didn't realise until it was a little too late it had 100kg odd over the back wheels and absolutely shredded my tyres through the race.
Fairly easy win but a bit dicey at the end as my tyres ended up balder than Ru Paul and Fraga entered beast mode with his 1:38s trying to catch up.
All in good fun.

Unfortunately got the Daihatsu VGT from the 6 star which whilst making me 500k richer, has also ruined my entire week.

Now, what about shoving a turbo up its rear end?

19ccb23c7dd59-screenshotUrl.webp

Mid-rpm turbo installed for a more responsive feel.

Started on Mediums, charged through the field, revving up to 8.5k rpm then pit in Lap 5 for a fresh set of Mediums.

Then repeat procedure until Lap 10. Pit in for fuel and then swap to Softs.

Coast in outlap, then went all out on Lap 12.

Laps 13-15 for cooling down and tire whispering.

Shared the strategy, but the tune is... you know.

I did one in the GT3 R on RH. I finished 2nd, with 1.40 as my fastest. The RX-V hit my rear on Lap 2 and I lost a bucket of time I couldn't get back. P1 was 20-22 seconds ahead all race.
When I did have the lead, P2 was 4-5 seconds behind and closing. A one stop would probably see me lose the position anyway.
