Plus, the understanding of GR.2. GR.2=Super GT500.

There's a LeMans winning F1 and a GT1 Aston Martin in Gr.3. Only way we'll see those GTO/IMSA GT cars in GR.2, will be in a Gr.2 GT League event, with multi-class.

It'll be interesting if PDLogic ™ place the 911 GT1 road car as a Gr.X and not in the same class with the Diablo GT, F1, etc.

There seems to be a common misconception about the speed of GT1 cars. It's surprising how many people think that they should be included in Group 1 or Group 2 when they're closer to GT3 cars...

Lap times from 1998 Suzuka 1000km:
CLK-LM #1: 1:52.580
Viper GTS-R #51: 2:05.953
Raybrig NSX #100: 2:02.507

...and from 2020 Super GT Round 6:
ARTA NSX GT #8: 1:48.387
BRZ R&D Sport #61: 1:59.589
K-tunes RC F GT3: 1:59.597

Speed/lap times isn't everything though - the GT-One was a prototype car from birth (even in '98 spec) so considerations can also happen (although I think PD would just add the '99 version), although I wonder what you mean in this situation.

Plus, the understanding of GR.2. GR.2=Super GT500.
Given Gr.4 is basically a modified production class and Gr.3 is for any top-flight GT car class, Gr.2 can fit any silhouette race car class.

Don't know if it would have been modelled in time for GT4. GT5-GTS? Yes. We got the Laramie instead.
It was a popular concept car for like 2 1/2 years before they put in production, in 2004. So maybe it could have been?

Seriously GT7 is better off with lots of new classes. Gr3 and gr2 solves nothing neither does bop.

I promise you, the more classes that get added to the game, the more the game risks to bloat itself. Not to mention, PD would be forced to make more fictional race cars (ugh) to help fill out the large amount of new classes.

What we really need, is for the 'Performance Point' system to return. (Which it does appear in the GT7 trailer. So unless PD decide to cut it from the game for some reason, we will be getting it back.) Every race should have a Performance Point number in its regulations, and then you should be able to tune/detune your car to reach that number OR, you should have the game do it for you automatically.

If you don't know how the Performance Point system works, it explains it - here -

Ah, okay. Well, that's possible, because we did get the 300C in GT4. I remember my Mother buying her '05 300C, in the middle of 2004. That's besides seeing it at the NYAuto show.

Since its confirmed that Daytona is returning, I would absolutely love to see some 1960's stock cars come with it. I don't know about you, but I much rather have something from this era, instead of the modern NASCAR stock cars that are rumored to come back, along with Daytona.

Hmmm, the GT1 cars are faster than I expected

Also you have to consider which era of GT1 you are talking about. There is 1993-1996 where they were extensively modified but mass produced supercars, then 1997-1998 where they turned into prototypes in everything but name with only 1 road version required, and then from 2005-2011 GT1 was reborn out of the GT/GTS class, which used to be GT2 during the 90's. 3 Totally different periods of cars sharing the same nomenclature.

Same deal with GT2. The original GT2 class became GT1 after the homologation monsters were finally classified as prototypes as they should have been. Then N-GT turned into GT2 around the same time GT/GTS turned into GT1, and this new GT2 would eventually become what's now GTE/GTLM. Now the SRO has a NEW GT2 class which has more horsepower but less aero than GT3's, as a stepping stone class(Which makes little sense that GT2 is supposedly "lesser" than GT3)

Although those specific vehicles would be awesome inclusions, what I think would also be a very cool idea is having those vehicles in the game in stock form and being able to race mod them to their historic NASCAR guise.

Absolutely. Racing Modifications would be really neat for these. Definitely would help drive home the spirit of 1960's NASCAR, by going down to your dealership to buy a new Ford Galaxie so you can turn it into a race car.

Cars like this is why Polyphony need to create the ability for some cars to change their driving modes.

That, and add a drop down menu at the dealership for trim levels.

Also forgive the edit above lol, I started with one car then kinda snowballed as I remembered cars off the top of my head.

Why not the entire decade? :D That would add about... 50 cars? Since some models/body styles ran multiple years?

Also adding iconic production cars from the entire decade of the 60s would add only about 200 more cars in the game? From previous games we've had quite a few of them but we need to add more A and B bodies.

I hope GT7 eases off the 90's JDM cars, and starts adding some from the 80's. I for one can't believe the R31 Skyline hasn't come yet.
Nor has the Hakosuka and KenMeri.
All three of these cars are in Gran Turismo 4.

This thread is for "all-new" cars - those which have never been in a previous Gran Turismo game:

What all new cars do you want to see in GT7? (All new meaning never seen before in the franchise)

1997 Mercedes-Benz AMG CLK-GTR
1998-Mercedes-Benz-AMG-CLK-GTR_28.jpg

Direct competitor to the McLaren F1 and Porsche 911 GT1, this car would fit in with the current car list and seeing as PD seem to have a decent relationship with Mercedes, i'm shocked this hasn't appeared yet; especially since they wanted to include it way back in Gran Turismo 2, albeit the race GT1 variant. But it could be due to the car being hard to find and scan.

Porsche 993 GT1
Porsche-993-GT1-Strassenversion.jpg

I know they included the 1997 variant but the '96 always looked much better to me, the '97 one looks weirdly incomplete IMO. The Crew 2 has this car aswell and it looks gorgeous.

1997-mclaren-f1-gt-longtail-street-car-56xpgt-prototype.jpg

Same reason as the CLK-GTR, it would fit in with the current car list.

Great competitor to the Carerra GT, Enzo and Murcielago LP640.
