....I really don't care what other folks say, Sharon den Adel possesses what could very much be the most evocative voice in the world right now. Her performances in Within Temptation are truly, utterly beguiling, so much so that I can't stop playing songs like Sinead, Shot In The Dark and Dangerous over and over again. Boggles the mind that so many people have no idea how good she is, simply because her band is saddled with a genre tag "metal."
What a flying shame that is.

Also, good to see that Xzbit aka "Yo Dog" meme fodder, is still around and looking more or less alive.

A bit of explanation before you guys listen. First the song has profanity, be warned.

This song has a lot of meaning to me because of what happened to me years ago. I was stuck in a mutually toxic relationship with someone who I believed was the perfect match for me. Now, five years later, she's shown up again. She's incredibly remorseful of what she did before, but I still can't get rid of these old, gnarled feelings of hate and fear. We've been trying to heal together as friends, and I happened to find this song. It's helped me with fighting those inner demons.

Hard to believe it's nearly 10 years since release...

Edit:

Visage by Visage, the first song on which is "Visage."

Album's in bad shape; I really need to find a replacement.

Second Edit:

Posting in another thread gave me the bug to pull this one out of the sleeve. Fortunately it is in good condition, and Robert Plant can go suck a lemon.

Edit:

I may have posted this one before, as I recently re-listened to it after nearly 20 years, but I think that's okay.Listening to it again and I still think it's an alt rock gem, particularly tracks 3, 6 and 10...

Wasn't sure what to expect, but Jay-Z does alright. Run in fear if you hate the 'N word' though.
