Submarine Bells, the second album (1990) from New Zealand indie pop act The Chills. From Dunedin, The Chills are considered a major proponent of the Dunedin Sound, a sub-genre of new wave originating from the university city in the early '80s.
The album takes me right back to my own college experience, despite it being on the other side of the world, and personal favorites include "Heavenly Pop Hit," "Tied Up On a Chain," "Part Past Part Fiction," "Singing In My Sleep," "I Soar" and "Effloresce and Deliquesce."
