Just got done watching a video of Morrowind (well, Morrowind in Oblivion) and I had to go back and listen to the soundtrack. Its such a strange feeling listening to this, as I never played Morrowind myself until recently and yet I get almost nostalgic listening to the music.

Amour Chien Fou, 2018 release from French pop singer and pianist Arthur H (born Arthur Higelin).

I picked it up this evening and this is my first listen, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly. The second track, "Reine de Cœur," is really quite good.

I recognized the name, and not only have I since confirmed that I have another album from him (Trouble-fête, 1996), but was also reminded that he's the son of French pop musician Jacques Higelin whose works I'm quite fond of--particularly 1978's No Man's Land.

A single from the album (and the first track) with a captivating video to support it:

Look At The Fool, 1974, the last release from singer/songwriter Tim Buckley prior to his death 43 years ago today (June 29) in 1975.

A great mix of funk, soul and blues, perhaps best compared to Steely Dan for those unfamiliar with his work, top tracks include the title "Look At The Fool," "Bring It On Up," "Helpless Blues," "Tijuana Moon," "Ain't It Peculiar," "Who Could Deny You" (my personal favorite from the album), "Mexicali Voodoo" and "Wanda Lou."

Band: Tortoise
Album: Beacons of Ancestorship (2009)

For awhile I was really in a post-rock phase. Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Ros, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and God is an Astronaut (great driving music btw). that kind of stuff. The four most recent albums from Tortoise are more accessible and way less ambient compared to their other albums. I listen to these three straight through when gaming a lot. Good background grooves and nothing too distracting.

Westworld season 2's soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi. Some of the best tracks ever released for a TV show.

I highly recommend you check out Talk Talk's last two albums, Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock, Public Image Ltd's Metal Box, and definitely Japan's "The Tenant" from their 1978 album Obscure Alternatives (my own introduction to the concept of post-rock).

Hell, it could be argued that the most difficult pigeon to "hole" ever, David Bowie, started it all with his 1977 release Low, particularly with the tracks "Warszawa," "Weeping Wall" and "Subterraneans."

Edited to include an actual link instead of a placeholder.
