What Attracts you to GT5?

I only play gt5 to for racing they took away my hybrids sp its back to [nope] people online. So far I've only come across two people that can keep up with me

Lol agreed even though there is some things in the US that allows regular people to drive super cars in different NASCAR tracks for only 200$

That's really cool. I'll have to do some research to see if there is anything like that around where I live.

I havent played it since the update was announced.

When the ability came along allowing me to change engines etc I created some interesting hybrids, I felt the game was given a what it was missing and needed.

Just for the record, what is written above is my opinion, not yours.
There for what is written is not wrong, nor cheating, hacking or what ever 'censored' word you may want to call it or indeed call me!

Also for the record at no point did i use the hybrids to enter in the online time trials, online drifting trials, or A/B spec races.

I done a bit of Photomoding yesterday (first time I've touched the game in months), just to get some Maserati Wallpapers for my PS3.

Entered it in the SuperCar Festival - Nurburging GP/F - and got some pretty good photos of it facing off against a Countach and a Murcielago. :)
So, that was a good little reminder of how enjoyable the game can be, when you actually play it.

Oh, I also entered it in the Festival Italia event (Rome), and got some pictures of it (the Maserati) cruising around with it's lower powered brothers. :p

So I'll definitely be doing that again tomorrow.

Not mad, just fed up with abuse because I had a go a making Hybrids.

I can understand peoples frustration/anger with 1000000bhp civics going 900mph and people using them to cheat on online on the time and drift trials.

But i didnt do that and im fed up being branded with the same 'cheater' brush...

end of rant!

Sadly, very little these days, warmed over seasonals are no substitute for new content. Holding on for GT6 now.
 
For me, its pretty much all about a car and a track. Specifically, its about something like an Impreza, a Skyline, a Lancer, maybe a Caterham...and the monkey flyin NUR-BURG-RING! That's pretty much nirvana for me - just taking a fun, not over-powered car out and running laps on The Ring.
 
i enjoy racing, gt5 offers a decent video game simulation for a reasonable price, and tbh, if i wanted a serious racing experience id rather hire outings in real racing cars and try and get involved somehow in the real thing rather than spend monthly subscriptions on things like iracing
 
I'd be lying if I didn't say the premium cars are a draw for me. Also, changing the wheels and paint on a standard really dresses them up too, I love doing that.
 
Photomode, TTs and leagues keep the game more than alive for me, but mostly photomode.

Same for me. Last night I took my 360hp Evo on sports mediums up against a GT350 Shelby something on racing softs. Every time he'd over-cook it into a corner, I'd be there to swoop down the inside in my perfectly balanced Evo, but then he'd destroy me down the straight parts. I love doing that thing on the 'ring.

And then of course there's the leagues I run, and the photomodes, and the vast list of friends I have accumulated over the course of the game that always keep the game fresh.

Yea, as long as you have fun doing stuff like then thats all that matters. I love the Ring no matter how many people bash it :)
 
The whole jazz ambience in the menus and dealership screens is awesome, and for some reason very relaxing to me... big draw for me. Then there's the collecting of rare cars (Cizeta for example) and trying to drive them in comfort/sport tires for a challenge ....

The premium cars are amazing, the BMW M3 E92 looks incredible:sly:

I love racing sim's and I love buying and collecting cars. I love starting out with some crummy Ford Focus and after several weeks of single-player, career mode gameplay, having a garage full of Lamborghinis and McLarens. At the current time Gran Turismo is about the only game available for the PS3 that lets you do that. F1 doesn't, Grid isn't a sim, the Need For Speed: Shift franchise doesn't seem to exist any more, those other NFS games aren't sim's, and the upcoming Project Cars won't let you buy or collect cars.

And despite my disappointment with GT5 due to the stupendous over-hyping of it before launch, it's still a pretty good game.

Even though I play GT5 a lot, those other games are fun as well, but they die in excitment really quickly, unlike GT5 where I can play that all day long with the right people. :)
 
After not playing gt5 for more than a month I played it again and man this game still rocks. The thing I like the most is that you rediscover great cars and yhen being totally amazed by the graphics.

I bought the ferrari Sp1, painted it matte white, put some bodykit on it and drove the 24h Ring. I am in love once again.
 
Just when was about to put the game away for good, I watched Senna driving the NSX around Suzuka and turned it on again. Next video I watched was Camaro ZL1 vs Shelby GT500. I'm playing in anticipation of GT6.
 
I am a car enthusiast within, love automobiles no matter the marque.
 
The amazing cars you're still discovering after 2.5 years. The fantastic graphics on most tracks.

The fact it is a very good racing game.
 
It's a car enthusiast's dream game basically.
