the last championship race in the pro hall. I ve used many cars and cant seem to win it. what car did u guys use? i only have 1.5 mil credits.

i struggled like hell with this championship. i tried it with all the black beauties and failed miserably. in the end, i had to rely on my team-mate bob to finish it for me. i dont think its a question of which car you drive, its more about your driving technique.
you say you have 1.5 mil cr. are you anywhere near day 694? if you are, pick up one of the black beauties, otherwise save up for an r8. whatever you do, try and improve your driving techinque too, it will pay dividends in the long run.

The Mazda 787B has been used stock to win this race for 200 A-spec points. This is hard, but doable. With that said, you can take any car about the same as the 787B or a little less and tune it to make this race easy, If you got the skills.
The sad truth is that in these races, the opponents drive fast and with some cornering skills, so there's little room for mistakes.

I'm in the same boat as J5, except that he has 1.5 million credits, whereas I am broke. I figure I could use one of those 'get rich quick' techniques, but that's boring. I could also do one of the endurances that awards a car good enough to win. Did I already mention boring? Well, those endurances are BOOOOOOOOOOOORING!

I've tried the Nissan Z LM and got slaughtered, a Camaro LM and got massacred, and even tried a Cadillac Cien only to be laughed off the track.

That race is kinda weird in that all the other races are easily won by cars that you can easily win. Not the world championship!

Well. It's the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP! Dont expect it to be easy (although it is).
As for the Cien, it shifts like an old lady. Use a race car, pref. a group C car with the best tires allowed, or a LM car (like the 787B) if you got the skills.

what are the black beauties and how much are they $$ ?

I did use race cars. The Nissan 300Z LM is a race car, as well as the Camaro LM. Both got slaughtered. As for "the best tires", the best tires are the super hard slicks. Anything else and you'll be pitting while the other cars seem to be running supersofts that never wear down.

I admit that the cien isn't the fastest shifting car in the game, but there are much worse. The only problem with the Cien is that it isn't fast enough to win the world championship.

Yes, they are boring, but that's why PD put B-Spec in the game. Get your Cien out, put hard sport tires on front and rear, and do it in B-Spec. Set it on 2 or 3 and "Overtake", watch TV or a movie for an hour or two (or something else that will entertain you), come back and you will have the Minolta. Put a Stage 4 turbo on it from the prize money, then use it in the championship. You can also use the same tactic, but sell the Minolta, and then you will have an extra million (or close to it).

I think the cheapest is over a million, and it's about 8.5 mil for all 4.
I tried with the black 787B and GT-one, both failed. I'm thrashing it with the Formula GT right now, but it's still pretty hard sometimes. I got wasted in Hong Kong and the Opera (this track is totally incompatible with the Formula GT, it was torturous), and the car kept spinning out on the Motegi speedway.
I think it's rather unfair of the game to throw you into a race full of skilled AI drivers in LMPs when most of the game up to that point has been spent in street cars. There's just no comparison between the two, it's like learning the game all over again.

I guess I'm just surly because I'm having such trouble with 6pt races and I have to do Suzuka next (oh, how I hate Suzuka). Good thing it's only 9 laps, that track is hell on tires.

You need a "proper" race car - a Group C car [as hispeed said]. One of the following will do

Toyota GT-ONE
Audi R8
Bentley Speed 8
Nissan R89C
Nissan R92CP

Pescarolo C60
Mazda 787B
Mercedes-Benz Sauber C9
Toyota 88C-V
Jaguar XJR-9
Peugeot 905
Chapparal 2D
Chapparal 2J

Race cars like those you listed are in an entirely different class. There is no point trying to win this series with a cup car, touring car or JGTC car. It can be won with an LM car but you need Schumaker like driving skills.

Try taking an unmodded M3 GTR to the El Capitan enduro - that should not be tooo boring for you and you will win a nice shiny Group C car that can (easily) win the GTWC.

I was running the first race with the CLK-GTR and it was working quite well, I had attained a 2nd place in qualifying. After a lap I had the lead but then I had to leave for something and haven't gone back to try it since. I guess I might just have those Schumacher skills because the car is about 400 hp under the group C cars.

that race is killing me, ive stopped playing because of it. i have stopped making progress. whats the best car to race in this championship?

Just did the Tokyo race with the Pescarolo C60 Judd race car and won by 29 seconds to the second car. Hard racing tires front, super hard rear. Even did a 360 spin (in the first right corner) and one serious crash.

The very best car for the GTWC is the Toyota Minolta (El Capitan 200 Endurance Race), or the Nissan R92CP (Fuji 1000km). You'll need to get used to racing them, though.

How's this? With ballast? With R2's and new oil, I was only getting around 120 even with a field full of the Group C cars (no Sauber, I don't think). I doubt R1's and -30 HP would bump that up to 200, although I have not tried it. It was easy anyway.

I beat this race with an untuned(except for racing hard rear tires) Mercedes CLK GTR. I did every race in A-Spec mode and won 7 out of the 10 races. My only 2 real challegers were the R92Cp and R8.

What? :odd:

Minolta.

'Nuff said.

You've got to ask jdw about the line-up, but he did it on R1 tires, maybe oil change (dunno). I'ts posted in my Stock comparison thread and checked out.

I cannot remember what I did this race in but it wasen't difficult, I was getting a few A-Spec points as well.

I think I did it in the CLK Touring Car, try entering the series a few times and see what line up you get.

hmm.. this series is coming up for me. Got some ideas now. thnx guys :)

Nope, R1s would bump you up to around 140/142p. Oil to probably 170p.

I used the Black 787B. Yes to the oil change. Yes to R1s.

I was fortunate in that, after about 6 tries I ended up with one of the hardest lineups available: 787B, Sauber, Minolta, Jag and the 89.

The first race was actually 199p but then engine wear took off a couple HP with brought the points up to 200p. Considering the Minolta had the pole the entire series, some of races were a bit painful (I don't like to qualify so if you did it would be much easier).

As for using the Camaro and 350Z LMs... YUP to what Moloch said.

The problem with those cars is the lack of downforce. All the Group C/LMP cars (as Moloch listed) have 63/88 MAX downforce (NOTE: the 390's default setting is lower). Next up is the Motul Pitwork Z with a 50/70 max and a then a whole bunch of cars at 38/53, including the Mercedes CLK.

Be curious to know if anyone can win Super Speedway with the CLK... I'd doubt it.

Nope i think I didn't win Super Speedway with the CLK, I got 5th I think.

Just do the 24hr Nurburgring race, and walk through the series easily with the F1 car. Simple as that. 👍

How the bleep did you do that? The R8 has 300bhp on you, weighs less, and turns better. The R92C has even more HP, though it turns like my dead grandmother comparitively.

I tried this race with te CLK-GTR (won Tokyo, no better than 3rd after that), and the XJR9 (even worse results!) before getting the 88C-V and getting a good draw (ie. all Group-Cs and GT1s, no LMP900/GTPs) and taking it relatively easy. But I'm still boggled that you say you took an R8 with a GT1-class car.

I did roughly the same thing, it was tough but doable. I was pushing hard all the way and only lapping a 10th of a second or so quicker, so all I did was get in front by slip streaming etc, or try qaulify in front then make your car as wide as possible..

Yup... lack of downforce kills ya there.

A note on the 787B which may add some perspective - while I was searching for the "right" car I tried the Merc. The Merc got 200p against the SAME lineup I listed... with R3s! That's roughly a 40p difference right there.

I tested about 10 lineups, using the Merc w/R3s as a baseline and saw the points swing from 200p all the way down to 9p (only 2 GroupC/LMP cars).

Speedway is a total pain for A-spec points, the Merc just will not do. For me - black R390 all the way - "out of my way, little cars, my 200mph land barge is coming through!"

200pts a race for all races. This series is pretty tough, but the AI still drive like monkeys and have no clue when to pit, so it's not that bad.

I beg to differ. I won this with the Nissan 300Z LM, and did not use superhard. I just used Racing Mediums, and Pitted once or twice in every race. It was only 160pt, so it's wasn't exactly to difficult. The only races i had trouble with were, Super Speedway, Hong Kong and Suzuka. Try that!

I'll try again with the 300Z. It's just that this one car with the Minolta livery was kicking my butt. In fact, it was kicking everybody's butt. If that one car hadn't been in the mix, I think I could have won.

Unfortunately, it was.

If you can't win with the 88C-V there is no way you will win in this car. If you do manage to win using the 300Z then you will have the skills to win in almost anything.

If you haven't gotten very far in the game... I wouldn't suggest it.
You have to be pretty decent to win with the 350Z

After the Minolta, there's the Sabuer... then there's the 92 and then the 89.

And then you have to worry about the 787B because on a couple of tracks IT WON'T PIT!

And then you're dead ;)

Good luck!
