all stock,

FF: Mugen Motul Si -- always fun
FR: BP Falcon RX7 -- horrid understeer, but a fun drifter.
4WD: Stage2 R32 Golf -- always just a pleasure to drive

PS: a little bummed about the low Cr and Xp, but im happy to have new events. its not that hard to make an event challenging, im a pretty ****** driver and only ever place top 100 on day 1. What makes this game for me is the fact that you can choose whatever car you like for a given event.

It only gets old if you use an X1 in the MR event or something like that, you cant get tons of gameplay from using a lesser car. I like to try underpowered cars with good tires, or slightly overpowered cars with **** tires.

the point is to find a car that is "impossible" to win in, and make it possible.

FF = Old Civic Mugen race car
FR = RX-7 FC (MFT tuned)
4WD = GTR SpecV, a personal favorite.

FF Challenge= Honda Civic Type R 97 RM and Volkswagen Golf IV.
FR Challenge= Ferrari California.
4WD Challenge= Lamborghini LP640 Superveloce Tuned.

FF: used Mini Cooper '07 Stock with sport softs on four corners.
FR: Used the Initial D AE 86 on Trail Mountain. Then used the Ginetta G4. I've been trying different cars but haven't done the other two FR races yet.
4WD: I used the GT Pace Car for Rome, got 2nd. Haven't re-run it or tried the other 2 races yet.

For the FF I used a Mini S. Somewhat tuned and I won by about 4 seconds per race.

FR I used a stock FT-86, I didn't win by more than half a second, it was actually quite a lot of fun, I had to run 1 of them again to get the gold.

4WD I used the Skyline pacecar. Again, all very close races, and enjoyable.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to pass on the Ferrari event. Don't feel like spending all my cash on a car which has such restricted use.

FF: Integra Touring Car, Fiat Coupe
FR: Vanquish, Griffith 500
4WD: 205 Turbo 16 Evo 2 Rally Car, Mines R34 Skyline, Calibra Touring Car

The Griff, Vanquish and 205 were alot of fun but all were a bit over powered given the opposition.

FF: Peugeot 307 CC Premium Avn '04
FR: Infiniti G35 Coupe '06
4WD: Audi R8 4.2 FSI Rtronic '07

I used a few different cars:

FF: showroom stock Golf GTI
FR: 370Z, FT-86 Sports Concept, played around with the Fireblade
4WD: Lan Evo VIII GSR

Same thing here... I had lot's of fun in all 3 FF races with the Motul Mugen Civic, even if first place was quite assured with that car :-)

I tried it in Arcade mode on the Eiger Nordwald circuit, in rain, and failed epicly!

I have just finished b spec lvl 40 and the ticket i got was the Ferrari F1 2007.
So that has just saved me having to buy it for the seasonal event, cant believe how lucky i was

I did the FR races in an NC Miata with 240hp and sport soft tires. As in real life, the Miata will take almost anything in the twisties. It was a blast. Maybe this is why PD gave us a bajillion different Miatas.
the reason PD gave all these miatas was because they could just copy/paste the GT4 cars, call them J or NA versions and add them to the 300 sumpin' "new" cars... of which about half are just clones... hey, i love GT, but their claim of "over 1000 cars" is false advertising of the most devious sort.

but the miata is always a good choice. a giant-killer.

The 300 hp FR events are just silly. I used a 200 hp Miata on sport tyres and won the Cape Ring one with a comfortable 15 seconds. That's not really a challenge is it?

I just did that with the Jay Leno tank car. has ridiculous power, but is hard to keep the car straight in corners. Take that on for a challenge.

I have used various cars particularly regards to the 4WD races. I go through my garage and use a different. I have so many cars I have not driven so this is just a quick way for me to test them out.

FF: 224bhp '03 Accord Euro-R, Sports Hard
FR: 300bhp '89 Sktyline GTS-t Type M, Sports Hard, Height adjustable suspension
4WD: 346bhp '02 WRX STi, Sports Hard (only done Laguna Seca so far)

Fully tuned Volvo 240 GLT estate for the FR, something great about winning in that old banger, albeit with 301 BHP :)

Ha I'd love to see that fly thru the cape ring hoop!

:)

It's not fully tuned but..........

:)

And the matt brown turd box catchin' some lean!

On topic:

I have been playing around with stock cars for these events, so far I have only done a couple.

Laguna Seca

Mitsi Lancer Evolution IV GSR '96 - 265bhp - 1350kg - Sports Hard - Over took 1st in the braking zone to the corkscrew on the last lap. Sweet chuckable car in stock form.

Impreza Sedan WRX STI Spec C Type RA '05 - 272bhp - 1390kg - Sports Hard - Over took 1st on the corkscrew on the last lap. A little deader than the Mitsi but more predictable for sure.

Impreza WRX STI '07 - 290bhp - 1470kg - Sports Hard -
Had to work hard to get 1st with this car, seems faster than the '05 but nowhere near as nimble. In the '05 you can brake, turn in and get the nosed tucked in off the throttle then pull the back end round with power. The hatchback '07 gives a little understeer before the rear comes into play so for me it makes it harder to judge. I JUST snuck past up the inside of the last corner of the last lap!

Mitsi Lancer Evolution X - 306bhp - 1540kg - Sports Hard - Easier to drive and win than any of the above three but I still only got 1st leading up to the corkscrew on the last lap. Car is nice and as quick as the IV but I don't think it is as much fun.

Mitsi Lancer Evolution IX RM '05 - 380bhp - 1080kg (not sure what stock settings are so I just de-tuned as much as possible) - Sports Hard (not sure what is stock?) - Way quicker than the opponents, took 1st on the 1st corner of the 2nd lap!

Audi Pikes Peak Quattro '03 - 484bhp - 1900kg - Sports Hard - Funny race, the car (SUV?) is a mix of lift off oversteer and power on understeer and you can feel all of its 1900kg under heavy braking. Bounces through the corkscrew regardless of line after a smokey bit of drift under heavy braking. Took the lead on the last corner of the second lap.

Deep Forest Raceway

Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (S.Shigeno Ver.) '00 - 207bhp - 825kg - Sports Hard - Really great race, took first through the Michelin underpass on lap 3 and had to fight off an RX-7 Type R for the rest of the race. Lots of drifting going on!

BMW 135i Coupe '07 - 296bhp - 1560kg - Comfort Soft - Best I have done so far is 2nd but I reckon it can be done. I did the same race with Sports Hard and it was a fairly easy win, took 1st place at the end of the third lap and from then slowly pulled out a decent lead.

I'm looking forward to doing more. :) 👍

Just getting around to doing these on my 2nd account. I don't have the car selection on it that I have on my main ID. Needed a decent car for the American Muscle a-spec events so I snagged a Plymouth Superbird from the UCD. It was well over the reccomended HP for the FR events but it also is very heavy. The 1st 2 were not easy but I manged to get through them. The car handles terribly due to it's weight. Then on the Cape Ring it won easily. As an added bonus I got the "Human Stop Watch" trophy. Atleast that made it feel like and accomplishment. That's a fairly tough track to put in laps that are that consistant in a big heavy car with stock suspension and tires!:)

In FF challenge I used
-Civic 97 180bhp
-honda integra'04 stock(oilchange)
-TRD Celica Stock(oilchange)
In FR I used (all stock S/H,oilchange)
-Granturismo 350z
-bmw 135i
-don't remember

and in 4wd I used
lightly tuned R-33 premium
Scubi type RA lightly tuned to 319 bhp

FF - didn't do it yet
FR - SLS AMG Stealth, SL 55 AMG for Deep Forest
4WD - Evo VI Tommi Makinen SCP. (P), forgot the rest

top this mates: FR at cape ring - only modifications were sports soft and an oil change to a bmw.....

wait for it

120......

wait for it

DIESEL!!!! I was stunned. i had no expectations of winning with that car. but when i was in the lead after the third lap, i stopped doubting the power of the oil burners

FF : Lupo Cup, oil change. Too easy.
FR : Nismo 270R, oil change and ECU, 302 HP.
4X4 : Nismo 400R, oil change. Anything above 7500 RPM is useless, change gears before getting there.

For the FF I usd the peugot 207 stock (177hp)
With sport-hard I finished 2nd, with soft 1st by a mile

For the FR the Toyota FT-86 Concept stock (225hp)
that was the most fun I had in a while.

Still thinking what car to use for the 4WD, to have a close race.
any sugestions..?

I've only done the FR's but i used the Caterham Seven Fireblade. on 155bhp, but due to its light weight, it wasn't hard to close the gap on the lead Camaro SS in under 2 laps. I did get it from the online dealership though but it might be available elsewhere.

I don't want to sound like a troll, but isn't that what this thread is for? To give suggestions.

it's not for snappy remarks either. ;)

ontopic: I did the AWD with a slightly tuned Impresa (320HP)
