didn't like the s7??

That's one of my favorite cars to drive. It's so easy to master too. I handed my buddy the controller for a couple of races and after a few laps he was driving like a pro.

Oh and the tvr cerbera speed 12, yes, way too much wheel spin. if you hit nos before 260mph you just spin the wheels to no effect.

It's just a summary , I don't own all of them. I hope everybody is honest so this topic really helps for beginners/restarters

So the Saleen may just not be a bad car after all ... But I don't know :p
Keep posting :)

True, you would't buy a car like that for a beginner, but its a fun car in general.

So far that's the only car I disagree with.

The ford GT I'd stay away from unless you want to spend some serious time learning it.

--Any RUF
Massive handling problems at high speeds.

RUF BTR understeers terrible very apparent on city courses were the braking is more frequent , the yellowbird on the other hand is a fantastic car in my opinion!

No offense but this is kinda pointless for the reason that not everyone plays a game like another person.

You may find that a car sucks and handles like a pig, whereas another person with a different driving style, etc might in fact have no problem with the way the car handles. In many racing games I've raced a friend with us both having the same car... and in the end one person prefers the car more than the other cause they can control it.

Just wanted to point that out, but I don't wanna kill this thread and it would be interesting to see what cars people have problems with.

That is very true but I'll still like to know what people hate about them.

Some problems are general , and some things jst can't be fixed just because you're a better driver. The cars here should be stock settings and maybe fully modded. You won't for example say that the RUF CTR2 has oversteer, standard ...
Get the point?

Peugeot 205 T16 race models. unstable at high speeds, especially when you start braking, when it starts to sway from side to side and eventually spins up  :( :banghead: :irked: otherwise it's a great car.

Just a little hint on the RUF's... I put a bit of weight in the VERY front of my BTR, and it helped a good bit with understeer.

-MB SLR McLaren

Brakes suck?!? Completely UNTRUE! It's one of the best cars to stop from 200MPH+ at the end of Mulsanne Straight! Stable braking on cornering.

Expensive? Sure! It's a supercar and is priced like one...

Needs lots of upgrades to race specs... which car doesn't? Duh! :dopey:

And of course there's no such thing as a "Tuscan Speed 12". But carry on.

I liked the S7.

Caterham FireBlade 7 - a good car to drive - but be warned it cannot be raced
Nike One & Auto Union - also cannot be raced, but are not purchased

I would have tried this but i just sold my btr  Still good came of it i now own a purple lotus esprit v8 se bought for 50.000 odd credits. WOW definatly my new favorite car, the sound, the lotus tuned handling its perfect................sex on wheels 👍

Is anyone else finding the cars more fun to drive stock? so far i havent even felt like tuning especially on the lotus it seems too nice to change the handling

This thread will likely be more harm than good... but carrry on. It would really help if the descriptions were more specific than, say:
-BMW 320i Touring Car '03
Crappy car and way too expensive
That really doesn't get the point across.

I know in GT3 I listened to the popular opinion that the SVT Mustang 'sucked and didn't handle for crap'. So I avoided one of the more fun and definitely the most cost-effective cheap car in the game until I was nearly finished. If I had tried it for myself I wouldn't have missed out on it for so long.

So just a warning to readers of this thread, don't take it as gospel. Try things for yourself anyway - sometimes somebody just can't learn how to work with a car. For another example, I hate understeer but I like the Ruf CTR-2. That's because the understeer is 100% predictable and controllable, and the car is astonishingly fast in between. So adapting to the car means the car doesn't suck; it just requires understanding.

Honda S2000 Race car:banghead:, because when I FINALLY had 845,000 PAL credits, I spended 450,000 on the S2000 race car, cause it was so DAMN fast in GT3, A BIG DISSAPOINTEMENT, a REAL speed issue, I did a race where some normal skylines were in, I WAS LIKE 5 SECS. IN FRONT OF THEM IN >>3<< LAPS!!!!! I am VERY able to drive cars around fast, so that's not the problem.

About the Saleen S7 EVER HEARD OF >GRIP<??! And also that irritating Ford GT '05, with a 5 mile stopping distance for 100>0km/hour.

GOOOODD thread though, I really like it, it's VERY usefull:tup:

PS. Oh yeah, buy a chapparal (most expensive one, YEAH THE CARDBOARD-BOX yeah)
JUST for fun, it pulls up REAL quickly for a 1,200,000 car (PAL money) Maybe the favorite cars should be posted here also?? Just a question, it might be an EVEN MORE helpfull thread then

I disagree with the choice of the Amuse Carbon R - right now its my best car. It stays planted, goes where I want it to go and it has power. I do have TCS set to 3 or 4 though. When I first drove I spun it twice in the first minute, but after a little I got the hang of it and its one of my favourite cars in the game. With the TCS at 4 I have no wheelspin problems, although there is a little turbo lag.

About the BMW 330i Race car.

The reason (full) why i didn't like it:

It's expensive . So , when u buy an expensive car , u think it will be a good one. Why did i buy it ? I bought the M3 as a first car , and I absolutely loved it ! It was everything i needed at that moment . So then i wanted more , I started driving the Capri rally twice, so 263,000Cr x 2 , And i bought it. The BMW 330i touring car. It didn't accelerate smoothly / good. Actually it didn't accelerated at all. (in comparision with similar-priced cars) . The name says touring car. But u cant enter a touring car championship... That wouldn't have been so bad , if the car was good.

Duke is right , this topic is only for consultation in case u have doubts about a car. And even then ...
So have fun all !

is anyone else wondering why the Cadillac Cien is so fast but takes so much time between gears?

It's like an airplane to me , that thing. No idea :)

And yes , maybe it would be useful if popular cars would be posted here . I suggest to look at the price/performance ratio or price/handling . But handling is dangerous to discuss . See post Duke

I`ve noticed that also, but no idea why it`s happening. I also have noticed that is very difficult to turn with Cien. I mean, what kind of supercar is that, if it can`t make a turn on Capri rally in 2nd gear with 30mph????

YES! exactly! but you still have to love that car for its sound, looks, and cool retractable spoiler :)

True , true . But you can't sell it , so i keep it. Maybe for endurance on super speedway ? never know

The TVR Speed 12 is a great car if you know how to drive properly. Firstly, the wheelspin can be almost completely eliminated by cranking up TCS to 10 (it is impossible to drive even remotely quickly with little or no TCS on the Speed 12). Secondly, the handling is not too bad once you get used to it's understeer. I find the car to be quite predictable in the handling department; something very, very important for a car's handling. Just don't be an idiot and mash the throttle halfway through a bend, brake early, and you'll be fine. Or, fix the handling by using racing tires wherever possible. And besides, the Speed 12 is more of a straight-line car than a handling car anyways. It's the godlike power of 800hp that makes this car so special (and fast too). Not to mention it's curb weight of under 1100kg.

I love the Speed 12, it's a great car once you learn to drive it properly.

And on a side note, the Saleen S7 is an absolute nightmare to drive unless you put on racing tires. Otherwise, the handling is atrocious, and the brakes are almost non-existant.

Are you referring to the little wing that comes out of the rear at high speeds? :)

*I'm back after long long GT4 time!*

Don't buy the Auto Union V16 Type C Streamliner. It's a special car, and you win one anyways, for the *spoilers* Grand Valley Endurance.

Beside that, though, it's an awesome car for its time period (1937). Very fast. Note that it's tough to control, though, and that its wheels have a 9 degree-ish max steering radius. Don't point it towards a wall. ;-)

I have to agree on that, the SLR probably has the best brakes in the game.

Doesn't anyone here watch Top Gear?

I kept it also :) but it really drives me crazy. One more thing, I keep getting that feeling, that GT4 could be better: I would like to have that Live For Speed feeling when I take the turn at 80mph, watching not to slide away in grass. I have turned of all driving aids, but nothing. Maybe I should play with simulation mode or something? I am playing with DS2, tommorow I will buy DFP :)
I hope that DFP will be the solution to my problems. A question for DFP owners: is the feeling of driving on DFP more direct than on DS2? Try Cadillac Cien with DFP and DS2, and then answer.
