personally i think the ford gt is a very quick car, despite its weak brakes, the handling i thought is actually pretty good, i can lap fuji speedway (hte version that was in prologue) faster with the GT than the Woodone JGTC Supra, less power eyah, but its a full spec race car & for me i can woop myself to the tune of about 2-4 seconds.

what laptime you running in the GT @ Fuji? full mods? supersoft tires? and which Fuji is it in GT4?

I'd have to disagree with this one, with respect to the RUF 3400S. It handles like a dream even fully modded up. I did the endurance race at El Capitan in it, and loved every lap.

The only negative I see is that you can't fit an adjustable downforce wing on it.

When i find one, i will tell here too. Til now, i found just one. The CLK GTR. I just can´t make the same laptime as i do with the R89C Nissan, and both have the same Hp or near it.

The merc has a poor handling while the R89C is outstanding. I just don´t like the CLK GTR. =/
 
FORD GT???? I LOVE IT, plus it didn't handle that bad if you add some back wing on... and if you buy brake control and set it to 5, it will stop quicker without skid out tires... and it's very useful for some of race too, i just beat it

by the way, if you bought back wings, don't forget to put it MAX!!! (defalt 0 and 20.... just put like 30 and 50 will do)
 
my biggest disapiontment is the Ford GT. I was counting on it to dominate almost every race. This car is truely undrivable when pushing it mildly hard. So disapointed. Braking and handling take a hurting. Handling would be fine just that you have to set the rear wing to the max and front wing to min. so when you brake and turn the car doesn't spin out. And if you go through a chacane really fast, the weight tranfer upsets the car so much that you spin out easily. I wont be driving this car again.

Both cars as bought. the track is fuji speedway 2005 GT i think, although i had a few more goes at it & am jsut as fast with woodone supra now, i had to push it a bit more through the corners than i was doing & really take it to the limit more in braking, like any racecar, you need to give it a bit more to get everything out of it, also the track doesnt really have any tight corners that highlight understeer, tryed em both on that citi di aria one, woodone supra by about 4-5 seconds. My time with the Supra on Fuji was 1.22.506, fastest with the Ford GT- 1.22.170 no wheel niether, im not sure wether thats any good either, what times has anyone else gotten with these cars stock?
 
My first post is a summary of what was posted in the previous thread. So don't blaim me :) . And no , you're right , it's probably not every ruf. Just the ones that are supposed to be good.

Every car has a superb setting that can make it handle like a beast. But everyone finds it , not everyone likes to tune his car 1 hour before a race , well , or 6 minutes, but y'all know what i mean.
If u have a fully modded car that still needs some major settings changes , u can rate it as not worth it. Or that is my opinion. There is another car for the same price with better standards.

And yes , I do watch Topgear. But I live in belgium, and I was wondering when the new season is ....

FIAT PANDA - Don't be fooled by this car's hilarious name and size, as funny as it is. You'll find it in Used Car Lot I. I put 100+ grand into it, and it's the worst I own. The name and demeanor are still hilarious, though.

Aight so the car stinks in the game...but in real life if you put a couple subs in it it'll put up some some big db's!!!! Yea I'm the stereo nerd of the forum :):)

ANY JAPANESE CAR THAT CAME OUT BEFORE THE YEAR 1999 - God, there are 40 Skylines. I don't even have to explain this one. Unless there's a particular model with a body style that you hold near and dear (like the first car you ever bought or something, sentimental and such), DO NOT buy it.

Not true. try a 93 gt-r vspec and upgrade it with a tuner original turbo, original suspension, racing chip, and racing exhaust and you should hit 669 hp with an oil change. There is no turbo lag at all, just keeps on accelerating and handles extremely well. I hope this car changes your mind.
 
each car is unique, and i enjoy cars that are tough to handle

that said, the only cars i "dislike" are the ones that i have to buy for one or two races. the old old cars are pretty useless, i've won about 8 of them. oh well.

Anyway, I found the Honda S2000 Race Car to be a big disappointment, too. It was my first race car in GT4. That car is just not impressive--I expected better acceleration and more speed. I never drive it anymore.

No, I definatly WAS in front of them, but if you race a Honda S2000 LM car in GT3 against a Skyline, I was like AT LEAST half a lap in front of it in a 3 lap race, PROBABLY even more, but at least half a lap. Anyone noticed this before?? Or has noticed it now? I think you must be VERY carefull when thinking of buying one, it's pretty slow.

Luckily I read that the Streamline is a special on time, cause I would've bought it in a min. or so, if I didn't read it, anyway thanks:tup:
 
you can't race the caterham seven? that is SO CRAP. ever since gran turismo one i have wanted a goddamn lotus seven replica in a gt game, and they finally put one in and you can't use the friggin thing. no daishin silvia, no pikes peak, now this! ARGH!!!

if you can't use the speed 12 or the mclaren, i suspect you need to learn how to drive better

Generally this is realistic. Because the engine is in the middle of MR cars they have less wieght transfer onto the front wheels under braking and hence less grip on the front wheels, this is especially true for supercars because of there hard suspension, they handle better because the centre of mass is in the middle of the car. FR cars normally brake quicker because the heavy engine at the front increases grip to the front wheels, but the sacrifice for this is poor handling because the centre of mass is over the front wheels.

However this isn't always the case if your MR car isn't braking quickly enough adjust wieght transfer to the front wheels and soften the front suspension. My ford GT stops as quick as any average car with only full racing suspension to adjust the wieght transfer. This is only the general case i am not saying FR carz breaks betta than MR carz!!!!! :)
 
Is it just me or should the McLaren be able to stop? Its one of the best braking cars in the world (its on par with the Carrera GT IRL, according to top gear anyway)

I won the professional Supercar meet with an '00 R34 GTR N1, Stage 3 and all, it was a bihatch catching some of the faster cars on New York though.

Well, with that much power I'd expect the gears to be ate up pretty quick, so it may have some system to counter that?

well thought out but not true.....a FR car does have all its weight over the front wheels, meaning the rear brakes are hardly doing anything...remember the tires have a limited amount of traction...in fact in real life the rear brake in a FR car are porposioned down to hardly anything...this is to prevent lockup and swaping ends under severe braking....on the other hand a MR car's weight distribution is better allowing the rear brakes to be more effective...which is better? 4 wheels braking or 2?
 
i too am upset about the caterham not being able to compete, I have so been looking forward to driving that car. I think it may be to do with the animation of the driver, convertibles dont have their tops down during races due to the computing power needed to animate 6 drivers turning the wheel etc... and the caterham doesnt have a roof, so I reacon thats why no races 👎

can still run it round the ring tho 👍

You may find that a car sucks and handles like a pig, whereas another person with a different driving style, etc might in fact have no problem with the way the car handles. In many racing games I've raced a friend with us both having the same car... and in the end one person prefers the car more than the other cause they can control it.

I agree. When I win, I prefer the car. When I lose, I dislike the car. Even if it's the same car.

Nearly all of it is pure misinformation such as the Amuse Carbon R is "hard to control, wheelspin" when it is widely accepted as one of the sharpest turning, best handling cars in real life and in the game. This could only hurt a new players experience and I have no idea what the thread starter is trying to do here.
 
Despite what others think, I'm still going to get all these cars to see how they fair along in my hands. What's crap to some may be a jewel to others. We've seen enough opinons on this site to see that. I want to get as many cars as I can in my garage. Even the crappy cars, they may prove somewhat enjoyable at a later date.

The thread starter wants to help new players and avoid people like u . misinformation? If u read the topic u see many people disagree , and say why. No problem. The first post was a summary of the previous thread . My only contribution was the BMW touring car. And i do think it sucks.
Duke said this topic shouldn't be used as a gospel. So don't look at it that way. U will see cars here where some people have problems with , they post it ,say the problem and other people say if they are also having the same problem.

So far we learned that the Mclaren SLR isn't so bad after all, neither the Saleen , etc etc. So please , if u do not like the topic , don't read it. Ignore it.

It was a complete waste of 250,000

If I'd read this thread 1st I'd have a lot more money on my save game.
 
yes, I totally agree on including the Ford GT. The brake response on that car is just horrible. The same goes for the Viper SRT10.

I don't know about you, but I was able to utterly dominate the NA series with a stock Speed 12. I was at least cornerning on par with the AI, and then I just blasted away on the straights. Just keep the car on the track (don't push it hard in the corners if you feel your driving skills aren't the greatest; flying off the track once or twice can easily lose an otherwise easy race), give the straights full throttle, and the series is a breeze in the 12.

I was extremely disappointed with the SRT-10. It understeers way too much for a 500hp FR car. Much better cars are available for the money.
 
Well atm I'm pretty POed with my Ginetta G4. It handled really well when I was goofin off on Autumn Ring mini, so I upgraded it and took it into the Professional Classic Car race. D'oh. It's too light for high speed corners like Fuji speedway. It is a whore and a half to get even soft tires warmed up, and regardless it floats off when you try to turn like the flying cars cheat in Grand Theft Auto. And even though I can get a half lap lead on the pack in one lap, that bleedin ACR or whatever it is (the Cobra looking thing) has a full lap on them in one lap. Makes no sense that is in there, really bad choice of cars in the pack, if you ask me. I may try messing with some weight in the front and a wing to get it sticking, but that's not going to help with the ACR thing killing it on the straights (And I've got the ~400kg G4 up to 145 hp!)

That's pretty rich, considering the Yellowbird held the street car lap record at Nurburgring for quite some time.
 
I still can't figure out why that #@l!!à BMW 320i Touring car isn't a touring car. It's german , and has the name "touring car"... but don't try to enter a german touring car championship.... Ow nevermind. The car was a waste of 45Ok (think) .
The RUF yellow bird isn't that bad , true. But in comparision with the GT3 rufs....
I remember I had the second RUF , fully modded.1024BHP. Wonderful thing ...I went from wall to wall and still won the pro's easily !! Great times !

Really, it amazes me how many people have disagreed with eachother concerning the Speed Twelve.
