What did you do in FH6 today?

I spent nearly the entire day working on six liveries. I’ll share them tomorrow. I’m too tired to take photos now.

Won the ATS-V on a wheelspin.

It's now a 7.5 V8 twin turbo monster, with 0-60 in 1.87 seconds and 0-100 in less than 4 seconds, but still gets walked by meta drag cars 🙄

For some reason, the upload didn't tack onto my last post as an edit, this should be on the previous post.

Not a lot today. I did grind a bit, but three super wheelspins gave me nothing. I started to work on a livery for my ‘32 Ford, but it turned into a vinyl downloading spree. I tried to beat @UKMikey in a couple of rivals races, but couldn’t get within five seconds of him. Now going to bed.

Sorry @Populuxe. It took me twenty laps to pass your Edamame time and only by a couple or three tenths, if that, so hopefully it'll be easier to beat.

As far as the general Rivals are concerned I think car selection and tuning setups matter at least as much as any driving skill required unless you're an alien life form like @Ali who easily annihilated my time in Monthly by well over a second.. Picking a vehicle in the top 1% of leaderboard scores definitely makes it easier to lay down a good time but of course the best or most suitable car varies according to what each player is most comfortable driving.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone's liveries with the new logos from @ClydeYellow and @PJTierney. I can't paint to save my life but I hope these decals proliferate amongst the community raising the overall quality for everyone who plays the game. I'm sure PG won't do anything as dumbassed as removing them from downloaders' libraries otherwise the resulting outcry would be immense.

Finally finished the Road Racing Rivals. Who knew Goliath and Colossus were the hard ones.

The Gauntlet is my favourite long racetrack. Nice and predictable but with plenty of turns. Anna can do the others

Not playing today, but yesterday I bought a McLaren 620R & FE Nissan GT-R for 100k each buy-out. Obviously I got lucky. Been after those for a while.

I ground for a few superwheelspins. Nothing of note. I’m still missing four cars. I did manage to get a million skill score to get this badge.

Made the Lacoste crocodile, mostly for use on the 205 Rallye to recreate the Lacoste special edition.

It won't be PJ Tierney accurate, but it passes the eye test 😂

Today I spent time with the Exomotive Exocet, and it made a good case for depowering, as the Corvette engine's torque is just too much for what is basically a skateboard. Since it's a kit car in real life, I wish we could have the same engine swaps and more body options available. Once detuned (to S1) it is a very enjoyable track car with a slight tendency to snap.

Just usual, finish remaining this week's playlists race, jobs, and daily challenges.

I have literally spent the entire day chasing @UKMikey’s D Class time on the Kita Ine Street Racing route, and failing miserably. I’ve used a dozen different cars, multiple tunes for each, and I still remain more than nine seconds behind. The good news is I won the One:1 in a wheelspin, so I’m just missing three now.

Please don't torture yourself. I'd suggest picking the next person above you in the global list or even your own ghost and see if you can beat that. Nine seconds is way too big a gap to chase.

It really doesn't help that the game automatically suggests the next person in the friends list as it means you have to quit Rivals and enter again each time to do this though. It's poor QoL. Once you've selected a victim to challenge then pressing restart instead of collect rewards will load him up again if you don't want to go through all that rigmarole.

I was really surprised to beat @breeminator's initial time yesterday after taking anti lock braking off. I used the same tune as @Pearl Jam on the Honda Civic '86 and just raced my own time using the method descibed above. For me slowing down just enough on the first corner was essential for a good start. Good luck and hopefully you at least got some credits and XP from the experience.

To be honest. I’m enjoying Rivals way more than main events and campaigns, and as for playlists, I’ve never come close to completing one or even attempting to, still only discovered just over 300 roads but yeah each time I fire it up lately it’s always Rivals I head for first.
The road and street racing are fantastic fun and I just love chasing times, I’ve also said it before but considering it’s an arcade title, the handling is sublime and on a wheel and rig set up it’s the most fun I’ve had racing and just driving in a very long time.

Oh, you're a wheel user... that may explain your blisteringly fast time.

I'm burnt out on Kita Ine and laid down a couple of entries on the Mech My Day and the Shimanoyama Red Road drift zone leaderboards instead.

I finished most of the new Playlist. Played with my new cars.

I rearranged my home garage (Soko 78) to be a vintage Honda dreamhouse.

And I won the CLK-GTR, so I’m only missing the Hennessey Venom GT and Ferrari F8 Tributo now.

@Populuxe I'm sorry, but I find that Dango outfit hideous and I thoroughly doubt my character'll ever wear it.

Inspired by your CLK-GTR win I also decided to spin the Marvin and was delighted to receive a McLaren 620R for my troubles. If my luck holds out I can also maybe net a free CLK and complete my wheelspin exclusives collection apart from the Dodge Dart FE which is soon to be no longer an exclusive as it's on the way as a playlist prize in the spring.

I also got another GT-R FE which sold instantly for 300,000 credits to some unwitting bot which didn't realise that the average buyout was around 100k lower. Unfortunately, I forgot to take screenshots of the lucky spins as I was busy celebrating my good fortune.

Next, I picked up a Ferrari Monza SP2 for 1.8m creds at the Motoki (sp?) aftermarket spot next to the stadium. I plan to check it out once a session until all the high end autoshow cars are in my garage.

Lastly, I took my Scenic Nights Audi S1 out for some freeroam and custom races since I enjoyed driving it so much in the seasonal. Think it's gonna be my go-to B-class hot hatch for the foreseeable future unless the Scirocco can beat it.

[EDIT] Apparently not, as far as this five-lap Unbeatable race at my favourite road spot Narai-juku is concerned. It sure is convenient from a QoL point of view to be able to tailor non-playlist AI races to our specifications but I sometimes wish you could save the settings as an EventLab for future use. The car looks a little beat up but rubbin' is racin' and besides, it'll buff out as soon as I return to freeroam, until the next prang at least.

For a supposedly dead game I'm still getting a lot out of this.

I think the fact that the dango outfit is so ridiculous is why I have her wearing it. She can be the adventurous no-🤬s-to-give person I could never allow myself to be in real life.

I may have just said too much.

"GaddafiHussein" is a truly diabolical username. How the hell did that slip through?

I mean, I get what you’re saying. That person was obviously referencing Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein, but there are plenty of people named Gaddafi and Hussein who aren’t murderous dictators. It’d be a little harsh to tell them they can’t use their names due to an accidental association with a couple of madmen. And you never know. Both men died violent deaths. The username might be a warning. (Okay, I don’t actually believe that.)

I finished up the weekly playlist. Did some grinding, but didn’t get either of the wheelspin cars I’m missing, despite redeeming about 20 super wheelspins.

Very little today. I did the daily by accident when gifting my duplicate cars from this week’s playlist. I’m still working on improving my time in the Kita Ine D-Class Street Racing rivals event. Taking @UKMikey’s advice, I chose a driver with a much more achievable time and worked away at it until I finally beat him. I’ve improved by about two seconds. I used my Renault Clio Williams. Such a fun little hot hatch.

Completed my last item on the playlist which was spec racing, went in and just kept racing with others and ended up spending over an hour there.

Taking a day off today. I've got music to listen to and comics to read.

I'm delighted things are working out for you on Rivals.

Please, feel free to call me just "Mikey" if you prefer. It's my real name. I'm by no means a massive patriot and only appended the "UK" to distinguish my username from other Mikeys.

Can do. Coincidentally, my real name is Mike. Well, Michael on my birth certificate, but I’ve always gone by Mike. Also, looking forward to hearing about the music and comics.

I ended up taking the choice out of everyone's hands anyway by changing my username.

Any music or books I listen to I'll try and update the listening and reading threads for although that Akino Arai reissue you recommended is definitely on my current playlist.

Taking a day off today.
I couldn't stay away (plus, it's technically tomorrow)...

1. Did the Cross Country daily challenge at my favourite course Soni Highlands in a 1965 Mini Cooper S.

3f6af1e1-e1df-45c1-93d5-613873d5a4fd.webp

2. It was so much fun I went back and used the same Mini to repeat the following CC custom races until I won against Pro drivatars (usually by less than a half a second):
  • Oka (×1)
  • Shimanoyama (×2)
  • Temple (×2)
  • Edogawa (×3)
  • City Docks (×1)
  • Shinjuku-Gyoen (×4)
  • Legend Island (4 laps; ×3)
3. This ate up a few hours so I had time to double- and triple-dip some Stunt Parties for more cash and XP:
  • Drift (×3)
  • Speed (×2)
  • Chaos (×3)
  • Drift again (×2)
4. Used up all my 29 wheelspins and won a McLaren Speedtail. This brings the amount I need to buy out the Autoshow down, but not by much. 40,901,300 credits.

5. Attempted to auction the following cars. Bet they don't sell:

6. By this time I had the maximum 999 skill points so maxed out the following cars:
  • 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4
  • 1984 Opel Manta 400
  • 1962 Peel P50 Trolli Edition
  • 2015 Ferrari 488 GTB
I'll be back to continue running Cross Country races tomorrow. Give that Mini a real workout.

You really have to take a look at other auctions of your cars and adjust your prices accordingly. If you set your starting bids above the buy-out prices of the cheapest auctions, you'll never sell a car. For example, the people can insta-buy a Pagani or a Maserati well below 1,000,000 most of the time, so who do you expect to bid on these?

Finished up the weekly playlist. I started installing bodykits on all the cars that have them available. I won the F8 Tributo. That just leaves the Venom GT as the only wheelspin-exclusive car that still eludes me.
