What did you do in FM23 today?

Is the addition of Indy cars the reason they re-opened P-Class again? To give you a chance to go back and do it again with the Indy Cars.
I think you're supposed to be able to use any car you like. The more classes they unveil, the more cars you can level up should that take your fancy.

Right but P was the only one of the previous Open tour that was re-opened. E and X were added. I just thought once Indy cars were added they were giving you a chance to use them in an Open series event

Finished the 488 challenge and then did the Lambo one, both were suprisingly nice cars to drive,am also looking forward to testing the M1 racer some time soon.

I just did the M1 invitational. Eleven to thirteen laps is a long race but the car handled it without any problems.

I’d started that new Open Series when it first appeared. I completed the first event and was given a Pass on the next six series so completed the last two. I decide today to get a 1st on those series I was given a Pass for. I did a race in the first series and was given a first overall for that series. Another 5 races (one from each Class) and I got my 10 firsts for the Series and another Z Nismo! I finished the One Make Series yesterday and got another M1 Race Car.

Ran the first two races in the Daytona Prototype series in the Corvette. Tried the Daytona one on level 6 and spent 90% of the race sitting in 4th about 2 seconds off of the lead Ford. Lucked into a 2nd place finish after the P3 Ford got held up in traffic. For Laguna Seca I decided to drop down to level 5 since the Fords are so powerful. But at the end of the race P2 had a fastest lap 2.5 seconds faster than mine. That's really beginning to aggravate me. It's like they drop back intentionally to run those fastest laps.

For the final race I might break with my tradition and try to find a tune for the Corvette to keep it from sliding so much.

Managed to get a decent session in today so did a few hotlaps in the MP4/7 to get the overalls, another 20 laps at Sunset to help get the count for the NASCARs, and completed the P and X class Open Events.

The Valkyrie Pro is a beast of a machine which annihilates the competition but it has a really annoying characteristic of front wheel bound and rebound oscillations above 180mph, getting really bad above 200mph. Has anyone been able to tune these out?

Finished the last of the One Make Series, finished Daytona Prototypes, and finished the Lotus Invitational.....sorry, Grand Prix Legends. At some point I want to go back and run it again in a Lotus just to see if it can over power it's own kind because it was a struggle in the McLaren. A Lotus was always less than a second behind at the end except in that wet Spa race.

Today I did the entire American Touring Car series and the first two races of 70's Grand Prix. Not looking forward to that third race though. 4 laps of the Nordscheife in the rain.

Well, been a long time since I fired up my console (or PC for that matter) at all, this morning I had a few free minutes and decided to fire up Forza and try out the Ginetta series. I love those cars, just so easy to dance all over that edge. I am still slow and terrible as ever though. Happy to report that the drivatar liveries appear to be back, bittersweet moment when the very first car I came across in the very first practice was that of a very good friend I've played games with for many years who is terminally ill and hospitalized, and the Ginetta was always one of his favourites. I finished the first race at Brands and shut it down.

Spent some time finishing off the MX5 cup, great car but harder to catch up from the back than the Ginetta Juniors were.

After that, I painted the Ford V8 Supercar ready to start that series, just need to edit it as I'm not happy with a couple of bits.

Taking a break from the Career and just having fun with Free-Play. I set up my own Nurburgring 24h race with GT3, GT4 and TC, 4x Time, 2x Tire. I'm off work tomorrow, so I should finish the race then.

Enjoying the GTP/C and Formula Mazda multiplayer series. Also restarted Ginetta one make and happy to see user liveries on the AI cars now.

Last night I ran the first two legs of the European Endurance series. This going from late afternoon into night is getting a little old.

Touring Cars World was another banger for me and a great way to level up my Golf GTi while the slower cars helped me learn the tracks.

Finished the Touring Car series:
  • Elantra TCR for American
  • Civic TCR for Eastern
  • MG6 TC for European
Now working on getting the Stallion Suit, since it's the only one I haven't gotten yet.

Kicked off the Thunder Tour at Bathurst in a Holden Walky #22 VF. The AI were pretty fast for me but I managed to hold off a level 6 field after a couple or few laps' practice from my favourite starting position P7.

I have an Altima and Falcon waiting in the wings should I decide to do the whole thing over again with slower but better handling cars (probably not a great choice for this particular track).

Started the X-Bow series last night and was surprised how well it handled. Powered out of corners with almost no wheelspin.

Last night I ran the opening race of the American LMDh series at Daytona. Around lap 22 or so while it was still very dark it was like the headlights either went off or greatly reduced their illumination. If I was running next to the wall there was a little bit of light shining on the wall but practically none straight ahead. But the AI cars looked like they had full headlight power. It made it quite difficult on the infield section. It also looked like the overall track illumination dropped at the same time.

Nascar Tour is a bit more demanding than my average Forza session but at least I'm getting some use out of those hard tyres I normally avoid.

I'm not fond of the pit refuelling having to be done in 10% chunks and I keep forgetting to add a couple or three laps to account for wheel skids and running out just before the end but I guess that's the game's idea of challenge. Glad I don't have to do this in a live multiplayer situation.

I'm also just starting the NASCAR Series using the Dark Horse so I can get the Stallion Suit while working through the Champions Cup.

There's a suit reward? Aw, man, now I'll have to do the whole thing again. 😖

[EDIT] Wait, looks like I can just run ten races in any Mustang or do Last Of The Pony Cars if it ever returns.

You just need to finish 10 races in any Mustang, the only suit I forgot to get last time.

Looks like my edit was a minute too late. I'd like to level that Dark Horse at some point though.

Formula 60s multiplayer has been fairly good. Did Suzuka and the Indy oval, both a lot of fun. Got hit a couple times by other players but the penalty system seems to be fairly robust at this point as it never punished me.

The Penalty system has been more fair after these last updates.

Got through two more NASCAR races this morning. Eaglerock is a fun little oval, and Homestead with an Overcast sky was beautiful. I'll see if I can do Indy later tonight.

Finally finished that ****ing American Endurance series. 45 minutes or so per race was just too much. At least for this old man. And that goes for almost all of the entire Endurance Challenge races. They all could have been shortened by about 15 minutes and accomplished the same "reality feel" I guess they were going for. I think it was made worse by the tune I chose for the Cadillac. I've only recently been trying tunes and I've learned not to go with the 5 star ones as they've all been terrible so I picked a 2 star, 20PI higher "best for grip" tune and it ended up having almost no grip at all. Huge understeer, bad on the brakes, didn't like going around slow turns. So I was very, very angry for the entire series.

I really hope the Classic Endurance isn't modeled after the other races but I have a sinking feeling it is.

After all the news, I think I'm at peace with where the game stands right now. I'll keep playing exclusively on PC because that's where it performs best.

I've been branching out, the lack of any statement is getting a bit ridiculous by now, I'm sure something will be said at some point either way, but there's no point dragging it out.

Instead, I've been spending a bit of time in ACEvo doing licenses and LMU doing daily races, pretty content sticking with those for the time being.

I agree with you, Simon. The lack of statement and the unsure future of the Motorsport series has made me look elsewhere.

Now, I have had some thoughts about getting a Ras1lution wheel converter for my Thrustmaster TS-XW-wheel, buy a PS5 and try GT7, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. Have anyone here had any experience with that wheel converter? For those of you that have played both FM 23 and GT7, how does the physics compare on a wheel?

If I'm not getting a PS5 I'm probably just going to play AC1, finish up all the races in FM 23 and then wait for AC Evo's console release.
