Looks like another trip to the AUP.

Since this is your only post here, I'm assuming that this is advertising.

My mistake then. ;)

It looks very good - if you're into pink and lilac. However, it takes too long to load, even on my 1Mb connection, and the intricate tables are bound to cause huge problems for older browsers, particularly the earlier Netscape browsers that have trouble with the cellpadding and cellspacing attributes of the <table> tag.

So my vote is for: Form winning over function, which in my book is usually a bad thing.

I'll have to echo Giles's comments (I got it right this time! :P)

The colors aren't offensive to the eyes, but they don't particularly attract. Also, looking through your source code, it seems that the entire page is composed of graphics in tables (with the exception of the copyright)-- a recipe for impending disaster from buggy browsers (mainly Netscape 4). When possible, I think that it's better to just put on straight text versus making it an image, except for navigational purposes. All of those graphics certainly do add up to huge load times... my 56k was ready to explode. If I were using IE instead of Chimera, then it would've.

Also, one really tiny minor thing, but something that I feel compelled to point out for no obvious reason: For those of us using OS X, we're used to heavy Quartz antialiasing, and by making the text a graphic, it looks really, really chintzy on Apple monitors. ;)

Did he say he was advertising no......he said lemme know what you think....I aint call that advertising it may be in a subtle way but he intended this to be a feedback thread did he not?

Nice site is is very smooth.....I wouldn't have choosen lilac/pink but your choice!

Some of the graphics are out of line by 1 pixel on some pages.

I like the rollovers on the graphic design page, very smooth!

I am interested in seeing a screenshot of it from Netscape!

Nice work!

Nice site! Easy and simple. It did give my 56k a mild heart attack though. I suggest replacing the lilac border images with lilac colored layers, much easier to load.

IE6 has what ALPHA stated, the images are a pixel off.

Works pretty well for me... Although the choice of colors are kind of hard on the eyes. Lilac (Not to mention yellow) is one of those colors that tends to blind someone on a monitor with a high refresh rate. My modem loaded it fairly well; it didn't take more than 15 seconds.

I like it! 👍 Like everyone else said, the pink and lilac aren't the greatest. Somehow the site reminds of Hot Wheels toy cars....

Nice design, by and large. The colors are a little wimpy and didn't grab me at all. Slow loading on a cable modem. Nice job.

Part of me wants to say "screw people with older browsers, I'm sick of placating them, let them join the 21st century..." but if you want to maximize exposure, ya gotta do it.

There's three good deisgns so far; but I would advise consistency throughout one link to another. Make the whole site one design, not several. That's my advice.

...for a business that will use the feedback to make money. It's called market research and you usually get free stuff for participating. What are you giving away? I'll take a year of hosting...:)

I'll give milefile and youth_cycler the benefit of the doubt here, momatt82. The AUP does state the following: You will not post advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or solicitations, all of which are inappropriate and prohibited in the Forums.

I must add this thread is not in such poor taste as other advertisement threads we've had, but I'm afraid I have to draw a line which applies to everyone.

Closed.
