HI....Actually i like the integra car because it is so nice to drive in gt4...Its a lot better to drive around then the Ruf yellow bird hehe.....The ruf sux, well it does when the sport tires are on.... By the way, in real world i own an old Saab 9000 turbo from 1988 with about 200 hp and i can say this.....It stops quite fast and it only understears when i hit the accelarator quite hard...cant do a thing until i let go of the accelerator, the wheels just keep spinning.. Actualy its a very fast car but i think that the fwd gt4 cars wihtout driving aids are to damn easy to drive if ya compare to real world cars without any driving aids...yeah i know i compare an old real worl fwd car to a quite new and basicaly better car in a game but still.. If ya take the integra and tune it up to about 400hp then i feels more like my saab =)..... well that was what i had to say about fwd cars and stuff.... sorry for my bad English but to my defense i could say that im stupid an lazy ;)

Finally!

Hmmm good ideas on the FF cars. I didn't ever think of a couple of these. Specifically jrtonilleandgab!:

Obviously there are applications for FF, FR, MR and 4WD setups (and RR). No, FF is not ideal for racing. That is one of the joys of racing a FF. Taking something that was not meant to go racing and making it fast. It's no different than T-buckets, Duece Coupe's or Mini's.

His other points about FF being cheaper, and more roomy (no axle down the middle of the car) are also VERY valid for having FF as a daily driver.

The whole reason that I posted here was to get you people to understand that FF cars are not ideal for racing... because half of you people thought that FF cars WERE ideal for racing!!!

And I wanted to get the point across about the FF understeer which is a very true fact. Just see the guy with the FF Sab 9000. I originally said that anything FF with 200 or more horsepower suffers from understeer and I think this guy's sab is a classic example. Probably it is not exactly but I still think it applies to most FF cars generally speaking.

Blah blah blah....

FF cars suck to race compared to FR cars, but they're great for learning alternative lines and car control. I'll admit most FF cars won't see which way an FR car went after more than a lap or two, but that doesn't make driving them UNfun.

Just try pushing a Focus RS around the Nurburgring (all driving aids OFF, mind you) and tell me you don't enjoy fighting off understeer, snap oversteer, and the most insane camber changes anywhere... I love it.

Doesn't mean I don't like driving my M3 or Corvette, but I find an occassional romp in a GOOD FF car a very enjoyable distraction.

Back ON topic...

I'm disappointed in the power output of FF cars in GT4... ITRs could push near 500 in GT3. And I'm pretty sure a G20 or an ITR should both be able to push 500hp++ (which would mean broken axles in real life... oh well...) as tuners nowadays are getting figures this high out of those engines.

I personally think the BEST FF cars in the game are the Focus RS, the Civic Type R and the Accord Euro R... not necessarily the most powerful, but they are the keenest FF drives available.

Yeah, that always confused the hell outa me. You get up around 300 in a FWD car in real life and you probably won't be on the track very long...my experience, anyway. :scared:

now you all know i am not a massive FF fan if you read my posts on page 3, but i do have a personal fave FF car, not in the game mind you, my fave is the Autodelta Alfa GT now that is a supercharged front drive V6 machine

Sorta on topic, but does anybody have an opinion on which FF cars are even worth taking on the nurb ring? The only FF car I've driven on not hatted in the game what that Suzuki that looks like a Mini Cooper. It has less understeer than most, and had a cool tendancy to break oversteer. Maybe I just got lucky on the suspesion setup.

do you realise that 70% of the posts here are off topic?

try a fiat... its not the best but it looks good (IMO) and goes like the clappers.

LoL, that is very true there ving. I was alredy wanting to go to another thread.
Besides 400hp for a FF Car is good enuf. I personally think that FF cars arn't meant to be equipped with such high hp. Give me a Lightly modded 300hp Si and i bet i can take ur 500hp SRT at nurburgring. Anyone?...

The reason y i say this is cuz these cars just keep breakin there wheels loose even on 3rd+ gear its terrible. Cars are nice but performance of em aren't that good especially a production type 💡

A 500 hp SRT on medium race tires can easily do mid to high sevens. It's a sucky driving experience, but it is doable.

Best STOCK FF cars on the ring are (so far) the Focus RS and the Civic Type R. But you'll be battling a lot of snap oversteer on off-camber corners. Fastest FF stock I've seen is the RS, which can do 8:18... maybe even better with a better driver :(

And 400-500 hp on front-drivers is indeed crazy without some form of traction control. The Autodelta 147 GTA understeers like crazy. With current technology, I don't think it's realistic to run more than 250hp on street tires or 300hp on race tires anyway. Most FF Race cars run in classes that restrict hp to either of the two numbers anyway.

if you are having trouble with excessive wheelspin in powerful ff cars, try this:

do weight reduction in tune shop so u minus around 200kg
add around 200 ballast in setup and move it all to the front, this will help keep the weight distrubition over the front tyres where the grip needs to be, with fr cars with bad wheelspin, to the same above, except add ballast to the rear, where the grip needs to be for power down, except when all weight is at the rear, the car will fish-tail a lot more

if you are having trouble with ff understeer, make sure the suspension is hard at the front, and a lot softer at the rear, this understeer will turn to neutral and maybe even a bit of oversteer when powering down around corners, i discovered this in the VW Lupo

and of course, racing tyres help with traction and better lap times on any car

This could become very interesting, especially on the tricky sections with most of the yank tanks.

hehehe, funtimes.

Hah, I made a lot of people angry by stating the Neon is a piece of crap :P

I didn't like it, it's my opinion, awesome stats/times that you have acheived...

And the whole thing about FF understeer I hear about? Enter turns at a sharper angle for FF, wider angle for FR, and whatever angle you want with a 4WD.

What the neon IS a piece of crap. But then someone figured itd be good to make it into a wannabe ricer car (not even a ricer car). And they convinced people with savy marketing. Man the things people buy into...

I agree with Pillo-san. The Integra (especially the tuned ones like the spoon) are good FF cars. You dont want too much hp at ur front wheels, but they could probably get up pretty high

surely you dont believe that, if you turn in with a sharper angle you will simply have to wash off more speed with the brakes, makeing it pointless, the FF cars do understeer chronically so you have to be easier on the throttle and more agressive on the steering, but no matter what car you are diving out-apex-out is the fastest way to drive
